Well the first two times the staff was great until today. I asked if they had a rolling cart instead of the grocery carts due that i was picking up a big order of around 20 cases. When i asked the worker behind the counter if they had one he told me there was no way i could get one that i had to use the grocery carts which would of taken at least 6 trips back and forth to fulfill my order that i needed. Needless to say I will never be back at this location ever and I guess i'll find another location with better customer service. Just to let you know we order at least 60 cases a month if not more so i guess it's no big deal.

The man behind the counter couldn't find the tickets for the date I was looking for and was less than helpful offering alternatives such as calling another store, or checking with someone in the back instead after shuffling stacks of tickets he said something along the line of " I don't do this, I don't know what to tell you". Really grumpy? Stay in the back then. Luckily a more knowledgeable associate Aaron came up and saved the experience. He called my neighborhood location to check if they had some for left. The cashier insisted it was "New York State law" that they couldn't accept a vertical ID, which is completely false. NY State law does not require an ID to be horizontal as long as it proves you're 21. When I politely inquired another worker about it, and he was nasty and rude, offering no real explanation and acting like I was causing a problem just for asking a valid question. If this store wants to make up their own rules, at least train your employees to be polite about it. I ended up going to Caputi Liquors, where they properly followed the law and accepted my ID because vertical IDs are valid in New York State. I won't be coming back to Global Wine & Spirits.

I came across Addy's when a friend found them on Instagram advertising a Virtual Wine Seminar. The seminars take place on Zoom and are a great way to try something new and have some human interaction during covid. This particular seminar was a blind tasting and the theme was can you tell the difference between a $6 and $20 bottle of wine? The cost was $55 for 4 full sized bottles of wine. They even offered free delivery if you lived in the area. Since I am farther away I called in advance and asked if they would be willing to prepare a package ahead of time for me if I wanted to pick it up? They said it was not a problem. Upon pick up I received 4 bottles of wine packaged in a cute bag. All the wines were wrapped up and labeled so the label was concealed for the tasting. A store associate was very helpful and went over all the directions with me for the day of. The tasting was easy to follow and fun! The day of the event you are told of a wine needs to be chilled, opened beforehand to breathe, etc. The zoom meeting was an hour long and hosted by a sommelier. The host was informative and asked for a lot of audience participation. The only call out I have about the whole night is that an hour isn't much time to get through 4 wines. It would be nice to have a pre taped option if you wanted to take your time and drink the wines slower. Apparently they offer different themes of these virtual tastings every few weeks! A great date night or way to catch up with friends. I would absolutely recommend!
