When I contacted the office to report the problem, they asked me to come back for a second exam. I did, hoping for a better outcome. A second pair of glasses was made with the new prescription, but that also failed to meet my needs. In 15 years of wearing bifocals, I have never experienced this with any other eye care provider. The entire process was time-consuming, frustrating, and ultimately left me without functional glasses -- twice. I cannot recommend this practice for anyone with specific or complex prescription needs, and I will not be returning for future eye care.

Long story short: I had a great experience at Wallingford eye care despite passing over it during my initial search. I called for an appointment and the guy who picked up (John, I believe?) was patient and understanding. It was the first time I needed an eye exam and was very confused by the process and what I needed. He scheduled me for a morning visit and even had a reminder a few days before. On the day itself, I waited a little for Dr Susie roh, a wait I expected like all clinics. Dr Roh was very thorough in explaining the process and recommending solutions. I was comfortable throughout the process as she was proficient at her job. After the checkup, I decided to buy a pair of glasses. The optician was not pushy and gave me space to decide what I wanted. She even came up with many options to help me out. When I was finally done, most of the paperwork and insurance coverage was already completed. I paid the balance and was on my way. Received an email four days after and my glasses was ready to be picked up! Great experience. Would recommend

Don't buy your eyeglasses here. They sell Bevel eye glasses. (One screw came undone and I can't get…read morea replacement Bevel screw. As a result, I have a floppy, loose right arm to my eyeglasses. It's very annoying.) More details below: After a few months, the screw fell out of the right hinge of my eyeglasses. I bought an eyeglass repair kit from Amazon to insert a screw and a bolt on the bottom of the screw. But since the screw is too thin (too small of a diameter), the right arm of the eyeglasses are loose and floppy. It's very annoying. I went to Wallingford Eye Care. They sell replacement screws. But they were all too thin. (So I would still have a floppy, loose right arm for my eyeglasses.) But their screws are too short. So I can't add a bolt to the bottom of the screw to help prevent the screw from unscrewing. The receptionist said that there's no official replacement Bevel screws and it's a known problem. I've worn eyeglasses for 40 years and my Bevel eyeglasses are the ONLY eyeglasses where a screw came undone. The next time I buy eyeglasses, I'm NOT buying them from here. (They only sell Bevel brand.) And I'm not buying the Bevel brand from another eye clinic.

Dr. Hoffman was very nice, supportive, and great to work with. I had had a bad experience at Visionworks up the street in being upsold again and again and having to pay $300 more than what I had been prepared to pay. When telling him I was just being honest in saying I needed to get my glasses on Zenni, he was polite, understanding, and friendly. The exam was quick, we talked about how the new glasses would help neck pain and eye strain. I told him I would love to have one place I go back to again and again for eye care as I don't have insurance for it and am paying time of service. I cannot recommend Seattle Optical and Dr. Hoffman highly enough.

I have been seeing Dr Bell for over 3 years now. Her level of service is Above and Beyond - exceptional. I had forgotten what we said in my last appointment about needing 2 pairs of glasses for different activities, so I made another appointment. The appointment started on time, the receptionists were lovely. The equipment is top of the line. Dr Bell spent 40 mins going over everything about my eye care in great detail so that I fully understand how to take care of my eyes. She meticulously checked my glasses and prescription again and offered me a comprehensive plan going forward. She even gave me measurements for the glasses I'm going to order online so that I can input the right data on there and save some money on that pair. She was kind, patient and very thorough. I've been seeing optometrists for decades and she is the best.

It was terrible and actually worst than the Dollar Tree $1.15 glasses. I had no idea of Costco warranty and waited 2 months too late. Went back and got another prescription. This time it was with the husband. Got another pair through Coscto...and this time it was right on. Yes, I paid 100% all over again. 14 months later, after losing both nose pad pieces and replacing them with an Amazon kit, I lost the right lense. Found out the screw in the frame had fallen off. Drove today to Costco and was first in line. The lady was super nice and took care of it. It seems great. I got home and , as a watchmaker, I have these magnifying glasses that are amazing. That Costco employee used an oversized flat head screw, not the Phillips size original screw. It works so far. I can see the frame is misaligned and will never be able to be repaired ever again. She did the job. Was she good at it? NO. I bought glasses through Costco. Within a year, I lost both nose pieces and soon after the right lense from another lost screw. The repair done was unprofessional and destroyed my glasses. BTW, an eye exam is now $85.00 Talking about cost of living, from $50.00 to $85.00 in less than 18 months, do the math. Our goverment is lying to us. The inflation is not 3.4%. It is over 40%. Same as for a gallon of diesel. From $3.67 to $5.69. Folks do the math!

In the last few years, I have been here several times for eye exams with Dr. Chelsie Russ and have had great experiences each time. She is friendly, patient, thorough, and informative. I really like how Dr. Russ explains everything and makes sure I understand what's going on with my eyes and my vision. My hubs goes to see her and has had great experiences too. I have yet to pick out new frames and have them fitted by the opticians, but so far, both have been friendly and helpful when I had questions or was just browsing frames. If you're looking for a new optometrist, check out Dr. Russ and the team at Eye Clinics of Seattle, Ballard. They're solid.

Ended up spending close to 500$ for the frames thats $800 or so. All ok, I liked the frames...but then the frames would break, one arm would fall off. Went three times to have them put back together then finally requested a new frame. They replaced them with more durable ones that priced out at about $200. They don't credit the difference even though they were defective. What a hassle right? I have been going here for over 15 years and have never had a problem. Now I have a pair of bifocals that are not clear to read the laptop about 2 feet away or watching TV about 8 feet away. This was requested for the intended use. I now use older pairs for both applications. Thinking of tossing these as they may be hurting my vision yuk! Is that a thing? Hate to hassle, but really?

They found a previously overlooked medical issue, were able to perform the tests, and set me up for future exams every 6 months. Great. As for dealing with the office, I have to say it was much easier to deal with the previous doctor's office. I used to be able to call, talk to someone, get my question answered. At Roosevelt Vision, because the office is big and procedures are there, it's a little more convoluted. Case in point: I had my eye exam a while ago, but I only got the prescription for "General use" eyeglasses, which I'd use for my driving for example. These are progressive, because I need to see distance as well as car dashboard etc nearby. Previous doctor also gave me a prescription labeled "Computer," which I use while working on my computer. These are also progressive. I need to see my monitor (intermediate distance) as well as my phone or a book nearby (reading). So I called Roosevelt Vision to ask for a prescription that is for computer use and explained what I needed. They were at first very pleasant, said no problem, I don't need to come in, and on the same day called me back to say my prescription was on the patient portal. I tried to log on to the portal as instructed, but got the error message: there was no account with my email. I called the office. Turned out their "system was updated a while ago," so my email had to be added. I eventually got to check the portal, to find that the new prescription was for single vision. At this point it's still fine. A misunderstanding. That happens. I emailed back the person I spoke to, to ask for a prescription that is good for using with computer but is also for even closer distance, explaining my situation. I also attached the previous prescription, which had "Computer" written on it. She wrote back: "Hi xxx, I would suggest you call the office at 206-527-2987 and press the option for the optical department. Let them explain to you what a computer lens is versus a progressive lens. I do not believe I could explain it adequately via email." I mean, what's with the tone?! Nomenclature of the lens aside (which I don't think clients are expected to be expert in), it sounds as though I needed to be explained to like a child (I'm 53 yo). My previous doctor--an OD--called the Rx "Computer." How was I supposed to know what I'm asking is not "computer"? I left a message (after the obligatory multiple choice phone prompts to choose the optical department), so an optician can explain to me. After today, I'm questioning if I want to go back. Since I was told to come back for exams on regular interval I would've been a steady stream of revenue, but I don't appreciate the runaround. [Update] I talked to an optician, who told me what I needed was some branded "workspace lens" (hadn't heard of that), and "you're welcome to come in and talk to someone about it." When I said what I needed was a prescription & I was previously told I didn't need to come in, she became increasingly short, and told me I already had the "general use" Rx, so I don't need another prescription. I thought that was for further distance; I really wanted glasses to use at my desk (intermediate + close distance). I only left a message because the first person told me to, but she kept saying "I was told you had a question; have I answered your question?" sounding like she couldn't wait to get off the phone, so I said "I guess so." She was like "okay" [click] & didn't even say "bye" or "have a nice day." I guess I'm only worth such pleasantries if I'm buying something. (Though I am their doctors' patient - I also would've been open to coming in/buying lenses if they'd been nicer.) I felt like they wanted to fit me into the workflow/procedures/products they have, instead of trying to figure out what I was asking/what I needed. Roosevelt Vision got me back in the game. They spec'd custom sports glasses in my exact Rx and worked the lens/frame combo until it fit my tricky prescription. Not cheap, but the build quality on my Rudy Project lenses is legit, and even with the aggressive wrap the optics are as crisp as my everyday glasses--no weird distortion, just clean vision. I'm back to riding the way I want to ride. Appreciate the team for solving a problem I thought I'd aged out of. Thanks for getting me back on the bike.

Incompetent and unethical business practices…read more I feel the need to warn my fellow Seattlites with less the perfect eyesight. Don't let the lovely location fool you. This shop is run by incompetence. I went in as a first time customer with high hopes but mostly because it was the closest shop listen by my insurance. I need glasses to distance and, thanks to the wonderful process of aging, also to read. Unfortunately I can't tolerate the mushroomy experience that multifocal lenses provide. I made that clear to both the doctor and the technician. They still up-sold me on "this new technology" that is going to work for me. I asked what they would do if the lenses didn't work for me. They reassure me that they would make it right. After a couple of weeks I got the glasses. I couldn't even leave the shop with them. Nothing was on focus. A different tech apologized and politely re-took the ocular measures noticing that they were wrongly measured and that, to make things worse the lens shop made a mistake as well. I waited another couple of weeks for the new lenses. Much better but still off center. I used the glasses for two weeks as they recommended and I decided that I could not deal with the fishbowl effect. For me it's mostly everything is out of focus and I have to search the sweet spot constantly. I felt noseous every day. They took the glasses in and ordered regular lenses. Once I got those back, I was expecting to get a refund for the difference. Multifocal are closer to 500 dollars and single focus are more like 200. They refused to make up for the difference. They refused to discuss it with me and referred me to a manager. I called the manager 3 time before getting a text message back say they they were busy. Finally today they emailed me refusing the refund. Wait, you are too busy to call me but you have the time to write me a long email to refuse the refund? Is this something they do on a daily basis? Do they have a template for this reply? Why is the manager so busy with these tasks? She had the time to reply to my second email and the third but she didn't have the time to call me? Do they use AI for these communications? How often do they deny refunds?! Is this pure incompetence or a business strategy? Be weary of this establishment they are more skilled at denying customers then they are at making glasses. Funny that they prefer to steal a couple hundred bucks rather then acquire a new loyal customer. If you need glasses, you'll need glasses for the rest of your life. They have the opportunity to make up for their mistakes 10 fold over the years. Especially in a city like Seattle were we love supporting local businesses. Final note, they have a very limited selection of frames and most of them are outdated and out of style. I provided my own. This is the temu of Seattle glasses shops with prices not to match their low quality and incompetence
