Purely speaking as a spectator, these grounds were absolutely beautiful and very well kept. I attended the WGC-Dell Match Play here in 2019 and it was spacious, yet very walkable. During the event, the concessions were a bit of a hike beyond closer drink posts so plan drinks, eats, and spots to spend time at accordingly if you're there for a big event.

The grounds were perfect for photos!

A beautiful and picturesque location for a wedding reception! We so enjoyed the ballroom and hours of dancing. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were so kind and helpful on the day of the wedding. My husband and I had some photos taken outside on their grounds and these made for some gorgeous wedding pictures. Thank you for the lovely reception, Austin Country Club!

First and foremost, this is THE most beautiful golf course I have ever been to! My fiancé and I went to the Dell Technologies Match Play PGA Tour event last Sunday, and what an amazing experience. I forgot how awesome PGA tour events can be! Dell Technologies along with Austin Country Club put on an unforgettable event. The course was in perfect condition, Mother Nature gave us a beauty to work with and the PGA Tour and their wonderful pros put on a Show! Great finale DJ and Rahm! I followed you both to nearly every hole and Rahm, that drive on 18 left everyone speechless! Way to play, both DJ and Rahm, greatest show on earth, now that Barnum quit! I will return in '18 for sure!! Maybe one day I can fall into some money and become a private member, as that may be only complaint, that I may never be able to play this beautiful course. 10 stars ACC!

I have been to the Austin Country Club on several occasions over the years. Many times for networking events and meetings and upon occasion to play golf. There is a huge meeting hall that's great for large groups. The food is better than many places I've been.

I'm surprised the rating for the Omni isn't higher! I've been to this location a few times over the…read moreyears, from a staycation to my most recent visit to check out their pop-up tiki bar and this place never disappoints. The views throughout the property are incredible. You really feel far removed from Austin, even though downtown is only about a 15-20 minute drive away. It's also a golfer's paradise, with state-of-the-art courses and a history of hosting legends like Willie Nelson. I could go on and on about the resort itself but let's talk about the dining options! Tiki Social is their summer pop-up bar at Nápoles, serving up some excellent tiki drinks with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area overlooks the pool so it can be a little loud if you're hoping for a more relaxed island vibe. We opted for the Zombie and Mai Tai, both classic tiki cocktails. We didn't dine here, but they had plenty of food options from smaller plates like coconut shrimp and wings to larger dishes like the mahi mahi sandwich and Tiki Burger. Instead, we headed to the main restaurant on-site Blind Salamander, to take advantage of their happy hour. They had a couple of red and white wines discounted along with $2 East Coast oysters, which we paired with a side of fries. If you're looking for a full meal, the menu has a robust selection with plenty of options to please just about everyone. One of the best things about this resort is the free parking, which makes it much more accessible and allows you to enjoy a high-end resort experience without having to pay extra fees, especially if you're not staying overnight. I could easily keep going but I'll just say this: Omni Barton Creek is absolutely worth experiencing at least once, even if you live in the Austin area!

We were taken via golf cart to the venue. Needless to say, my hair was windblown when we arrived. We immediately greeted by a woman with a champagne skirt, which was unique and different. The space was very tight for the number of guests present. Folks passing by my table kept knocking purse off my chair until I put on our table. There was a small bar and mingling area. Gifts sat on the floor as there was no space anywhere else to put them. There were two musical artists - a DJ and a jazz band. The DJ was not skilled in the art of DJing. He did not have seamless connections between songs with abrupt stops. The jazz band, conversely, was amazing. My hubby who is not a big dancer, danced the entire night. We were served plated meals (filet mignon and salmon), which were aesthetically pleasing and deliciously prepared. Overall, the food was very good. If the birthday party was held in a larger space, the experience would likely have been better.

The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, generically known as the WGC Match Play or WGC Match Play…read moreChampionship, is one of the PGA Tour's more unique events because it's a match play format event. I'd have to look it up to confirm, but I'm pretty sure this is the only match play event on the Tour schedule. The vast majority of PGA Tour events are stroke play format. Then there are different ones like this and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans which is a two-man team event. Most golf fans associate match play with the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup, US Amateur, and British Amateur. This tournament has a bracket, much like the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments. Like the NCAA tournaments, this tournament has a field of 64 (technically, the NCAA men's tournament has 68 teams with four play-in games, but you know what I mean). The difference between this tournament and the college basketball tournaments is the single-elimination matches don't begin until the round of 16 (Sweet 16). The way the WGC Match Play field of 64 players is reduced to 16 players is through four-man group round-robin matches over the first three days of the tournament (kind of like FIFA World Cup group play). On that note, because of the format and the number of players involved, this tournament takes one day longer than the typical four-day Tour event. It goes Wednesday-Sunday instead of Thursday-Sunday. The "Sweet 16" and "Elite 8" matches are played on Saturday with the "Final Four," third-place "consolation," and championship matches played on Sunday. This means some guys will play more than the typical 72 holes (assuming they made the cut). Seedings are based on where every player is ranked in the Official World Golf Ranking. Since 2016, this event has been held annually at Austin Country Club in March -- coincidentally, around the same time as March Madness. Funny how that worked out. The match play format is interesting to me because it can produce intriguing matchups and unexpected results. The strategy for match play is different from stroke play because it's a one-on-one competition where the player doesn't have to be better than the field, but just better than the guy he's matched up against at that moment. Here's a crazy stat: In 2011, Rory McIlroy lost to Ben Crane, 8 and 7, back when this tournament was played at Dove Mountain in Arizona. Matt Kuchar has the second-most WGC Match Play wins (34) of all time. Tiger Woods has won this event three times (2003, 2004, 2008) and Australians Geoff Ogilvy and Jason Day have both won twice. Congratulations to this year's champion, Billy Horschel. He took home the $1,820,000 winner's share of the $10,500,000 purse. Both amounts are currently tied for the fourth-largest on Tour in their respective categories. One last thing - at this year's tournament, Sergio Garcia had a walk-off hole-in-one to win his sudden death playoff against Lee Westwood.
