One of my favorite hobbies is traveling the country and volunteering at PGA golf events. And out of the many that I have worked with, I would have to say that The Dell Technologies Match Play Even is among my favorites. I enjoy golf, but I sincerely enjoy going to new golf courses to see how they fit within the landscape of the land they encompass. And the Austin Country Club grounds did not disappoint! The land, lake, and homes surrounding the course are so majestic. Everything about ACC is classic golf ambiance, clean, and well designed. It's everything you want in a luxury country club. And on top of the beautiful establishment, the tournament was well put together and fun for any person willing to come out and enjoy the outdoors. I will be back for sure! Great work! read more

Well, 5 Star and then some! I was accompanying a Mom to help watch her small children. So we stuck to the baby pool. I ordered the Caesar Wrap for lunch. My only 'complaint' would be that it was too much salad for the wrap! I couldn't pick it up and eat it; used a fork and knife. But it was absolutely delicious!! I have been driving by this golf course for 30 years but never had the opportunity to play it. The Austin County Club is the most elite private club in Austin. Not sure how you become a member but I am sure it involves a lot of dollar bills. But today I was here to attend the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. It is a PGA golf tournament and no I was not one of the top 64 players but just a spectator. Before heading to my special club seating area I decided to explore this golf course. The grounds are nicely kept up and the holes look very challenging. There are a lot of oak trees to find shade or block your shot. Located right on the banks of Lake Austin with a tremendous view of the Pennybacker Bridge. The clubhouse is nice and has a nice pro shop inside where the merchandise is high quality. The staff is very professional. As for hosting the golf tournament they performed an excellent job. It was very easy to get around, delicious food, great spots to view the action, and transportation to and from this venue. read more

Purely speaking as a spectator, these grounds were absolutely beautiful and very well kept. I attended the WGC-Dell Match Play here in 2019 and it was spacious, yet very walkable. During the event, the concessions were a bit of a hike beyond closer drink posts so plan drinks, eats, and spots to spend time at accordingly if you're there for a big event. read more

The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were so kind and helpful on the day of the wedding. First and foremost, this is THE most beautiful golf course I have ever been to! My fiancé and I went to the Dell Technologies Match Play PGA Tour event last Sunday, and what an amazing experience. I forgot how awesome PGA tour events can be! Dell Technologies along with Austin Country Club put on an unforgettable event. The course was in perfect condition, Mother Nature gave us a beauty to work with and the PGA Tour and their wonderful pros put on a Show! Great finale DJ and Rahm! I followed you both to nearly every hole and Rahm, that drive on 18 left everyone speechless! Way to play, both DJ and Rahm, greatest show on earth, now that Barnum quit! I will return in '18 for sure!! Maybe one day I can fall into some money and become a private member, as that may be only complaint, that I may never be able to play this beautiful course. 10 stars ACC! read more

I'm in love with the Austin country club for the simple fact that the Dell match play is held there. Golfs greats in our own back yard. The course is on the water and well kept. Never played it but I'm hopeful for a miracle. Parking sucks but that's just Austin. Grab a boat, you'll be ok. read more

I have been to the Austin Country Club on several occasions over the years. Many times for networking events and meetings and upon occasion to play golf. There is a huge meeting hall that's great for large groups. The food is better than many places I've been. read more

I would be the last person on earth going to a country club. The closest I come to playing golf was a Top Golf. There I didn't have to deal with hills and sandtraps. It's pretty hilly and really nice. I didn't get to go inside the buildings as I was volunteering for this years' Dell World Match Play which organizers did a good job hosting. I was working the concession stand for Back on my Feet organization which helps homeless people get back on their feet by running. Austin Country Club is by the water and you get a nice view of the Pennyback Bridge. I don't know if this review would count because I technically didn't golf. read more

I won a silent auction item for Junior golf clubs and one lesson from the pro shop. This was in the beginning of May. After 5 calls and attempt to make an appointment we finally had this on the schedule and then it was canceled. The second appointment was canceled while we drove the the course and then the 3rd appointment was canceled because the pro was sick (also while we were on our way to the course). By the way, it is July 27th and they ordered the clubs today instead of in May when we called them and asked them to order them. I have a child who is brokenhearted and just wants to play golf. This is not brain surgery it is a golf lesson and shouldn't take 3 months to figure out. read more

I went yesterday to see buddy and pick up my R11 I had lent him for a round, had a couple drinks at the "19th hole" I have played here a handful of times, I am lucky enough to have a good friend who is a member. Would I ever join? HECK YES! Could I afford it? HECK NO! lol This course is phenomenal, I would say this is as star above Barton Creek IMO. The fairways and greens are always in immaculate shape. The front 9 seem to always treat me better then the back, as the back you need a true swing and shot (straight) You can see the front from the 360 bridge, right along the lake. Even with the heat you can always catch a nice breeze coming off the water, which I REALLY enjoy since its always 10000000 degrees here, every bit helps. My favorite hole would prob be #3, it overlooks the lake and has such a beautiful view. Its a short par 5 but IMO one of the tougher on the course. The par 3s are usually my only true attempts at birdies, not here, be ready to carry every one of them, water/canyon keep you from the occasional duff, chip 1 putt par. Now for the final hole, after burning threw a sleeve or 2 of balls, it has to be easy right? NOPE, 18 is one of the longer par 4s I have ever played. i think from the backs, 485? If you dont go fairway, bu bye, you are done. Almost unplayable on both sides. Will admit the canyon to the left has swallowed a few of my balls lol A Bogey on this hole is a victory in its own for myself. haha Overall this course is truly one you remember, and feel ever so fortunate enough to have the chance to play. This is a must for the avid golfer! read more

This place is pretty fancy! I'm not a member of the Austin Country Club nor will I probably ever be a member, but I did get the opportunity to attend a luncheon there and I was pretty impressed. First of all, the grounds are beautiful! The area and the scenery is the hill country at it's finest. If I was a golfer, I would definitely want to spend some time here! As for the reception and luncheon area, it was tastefully decorated, had high ceilings and very good flow throughout the building. The reason I took away one star is because of the food quality. Both the appetizer and the dessert were outstanding but I expected more out of the main dish. A place of that caliber, in my opinion, should be able to cater to couple hundred and have it be a fairly tasty dish. They just didn't deliver on that part. Anyway, the bottom line is, if you ever have the chance to go to this country club, you should take it because it's a very nice experience all around. read more

Attended a wedding reception here. The good: beautiful location, lovely grounds, pretty chairs and tables, everything you would expect from a posh country club in the richy-rich area of town. Plenty of room for mingling, small bars and serving stations. The service was polite and friendly. As we had to work the next morning, we couldn't stay through the whole reception, but one of the wait staff brought us our cake a few minutes early so we could try it before leaving, which I thought was very sweet. The hummus with kalamata olives was very tasty. Dinner was perfectly cooked, tender shrimp and medium rare steak. The bad: The appetizers were a little on the boring side but maybe the fault of the bride and groom-- spanikopita identical to the frozen stuff from Sam's, cocktail meatballs, overly-large slices of rare roast beef on melba toast (too chewy to easily bite in half, too big to fit all in your mouth at once, and the shattering melba toast covered your nice clothes in crumbs while you tried to juggle a glass of champagne and not spill it.) The dinner sides were booorrring-- undercooked, bitter or overcooked and cold roasted vegetables, and tasteless rice pilaf. The ugly: Sorry, this was the SINGLE. WORST. WEDDING. CAKE. EVER. Anyplace like this that requires you to use their kitchens should be able to make GOOD WEDDING CAKE. The menu represented the cakes to be "bride's cake" and "chocolate tres leches." Instead, the bride's cake was white, flavorless, dry, coarse-crumbed, did I mention dry? I did try to get through some of the frosting-- it purported to be buttercream, but it was oddly flavorless while remaining overly sweet. And I have the world's worst sweet tooth, so usually nothing is too sweet for me. I tried a bite of the groom's cake, but it was visibly NOT tres leches-- there wasn't a drop of moisture much less three milks. It was brown in color, and it looked like a slice of cake, and there the resemblance ended. It was dry, dry, dry, and didn't taste like anything. Awful especially considering the price is probably quite steep. Good thing cake isn't so important in the grand scheme of things-- unless you care about things like that! read more

this place is not for us west lake hillbillies. I go here often as my kids take a dance class here, cotillion. the ground are beautiful and the buildings well kept. the food portions are generous (from what I can see as I look over members shoulders) the bar area is nice and the serve a stiff drink, just like you'd expect at a fancy member's only exclusive country club. at least, the one time they allowed me to sit at the bar as a cash customer.... I recently had a few hours to kill while the daughter had her dance class, we bellied up to the bar and ordered two vodka tonics (with tito's of course) drinks were mixed, pushed up under our noses, and then she asked for my member number.... "I'm paying cash" I cheerfully replied. (long awkward pause) she slowly reached out and very slowly pulled the drinks back from under our thirsty selves "sorry, I can only serve members" we still had more than an hour till we were done at the country club. we found an empty room with a few chairs and tables. we sat in the dark, reading yahoo, yelp and facebook for the hour we were stuck there, as non members and all. a friend suggested we check into a "social membership". I saw membership was by "invitation only"... I know a few members, but then I realized, if I had a membership to this joint, I'd be missing out on all the fun regular folks places. this town is filled with fun creative people gathering in unpretentious watering holes that offer a great variety of entertainment. not gonna get that a country club. read more

We considered having our wedding reception here, but ultimately had it somewhere else. Later on we ended up joining as members. I have never had one item to eat here that was not fabulous. I was a little nervous joining a country club since I did not grow up in that environment. This club has 5 star service with none of the arrogance that I feared on the country club stereotype. The members are down to earth and friendly. I have yet to meet an unpleasant person. I am so glad we joined here and absolutely love the staff. Great pool, great course, nice driving range, can't complain about a thing. Highly recommend a DKR (fresca, Tito's vodka, with splash of grape juice) after your round. Went here for the first time for an event. As expected, it was well maintained and the staff were very welcoming. This place has a lot of history to it which was nice. The grounds had swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, a two dinning areas and plenty of conference rooms. read more

I have held 2 corporate events here in the last month and both were a huge success. One of our employees is a member here and suggested it. Of course, we all thought: Country Club = Stuffy. I can't say enough great things about the venue and the staff. Lindsay has been my coordinator for both events and she makes this so easy on the client. She is organized, pays attention to all the details, has good advise on using the space, and is just a nice person to work with. We held a holiday party in December for 75 people. We got to pick from a long list of options for the buffet dinner, appetizers and open bar. Everything was set up ahead of time, the food all came out exactly on time and every staff member was extra helpful. The location is easy for our guests to find, lots of close-in free parking, and the conference room was large and classy. Lindsay even arranged all the decorations so we didn't have to lift a finger. The guests all commented on what a great party it was. As the client, this was the easiest party I've ever planned. The second event we held was a corporate meeting and this went just as well. Lindsay had the podium and A/V equipment set up and ready for us. The sound was great. She even had suggestions on how to arrange the chairs to suit the meeting best. Austin Country Club is definitely our go-to venue now. You will get great service and food for a very reasonable price. In planning both of these events I researched several other options (Sonesta in Bee Caves, Barton Creek Country Club, The Hills at Lakeway, Hotel Granduca) and they could not compare to ACC. The 5 stars also goes for Linsday as my recommended coordinator. read more

This review is more about the Dell World Match Play event than the actual course, but the event didn't have a yelp review option so here goes. The course was amazingly beautiful and the gorgeous weather just enhanced the views. Stunning! The girls in the pro shop were nice as were all the people I interacted with in the many great concession stands. Kudos for Amy's ice cream for not price gauging like the rest of the places. Torchys charged like $7.50 for a very small taco. Hat Creek like $9.50 for a modest size burger not even served hot with no fries! The real disappointment came with the security down by the gate at the boat launch. What a bunch of miserable men. Actually yelling at people for stopping their cars for a second to drop someone off, or not walking in the right direction towards the gate when it didn't harm anybody. Went every day and it was pretty much a consistent bunch of miserable wannabes who are obviously bitter and angry at their own lives, feeling the need to take it out on people behaving themselves, just wanting to see world class golfers, and paying a good buck to see it. I have finally played all the high end private clubs in town, Spanish Oaks, Austin Golf Club, Barton creek, UT golf cub . Non them are in the same league as Austin Country club, location, beauty, history. The golf course is simply the best conditioned golf course in Austin, the front 9 along lake Austin is incredible and serene, the back 9 is typical hill country with cliffs and canyons, there is no better finishing hole in Texas. The Drinks in the 19th hole are exceptional and served by some of Ausitn's best waiters. If you ever get a chance to play or join do yoursefl a favor and just say yes. read more
