I ate chocolate bark that my husband brought home and my teeth started hurting. I called Dr. Wainwrights office and got in fast. He did a couple of X-rays, and found nothing was broken. Just a bad bruise. But he wanted to take a good look at the X-rays to make sure and said he would call, so I wouldn't worry about it all weekend. He did call, and found nothing. It was such a relief for me. He is a very precise dentist, and such a nice person to have done that. I'm happy to go to the dentist any time now and know he will take care of me. I will be 80 in a month, and he is the best dentist I have ever seen. Now I can smile brightly with my beautiful new teeth he put in last year. I met Dr. Wainwright in 2002 when I had to do major dental work and was extremely afraid of dentists from previous experiences. Everyone at Dr. Wainwright's office was so kind and welcoming from the beginning. He offers sedation dentistry which is what brought me in. He was able to undo and repair years worth of work in a few sessions with sedation dentistry. The best part is you come to without the knowledge of all the procedure you just went through. Because of my great experience with him so long ago, I've maintained regular maintenance and have Kristi, my personal hygienist, to thank for that. She is the best and I always enjoy my cleaning with her. I've had a few normal issues throughout the years since my major dental work and they were always detected so early and taken care of so fast that they never became an issue. I'm so glad I came across Dr. Wainwright so long ago. I love to tell people how much I love my dentist and see their unbelieving faces...but I do! The whole team is amazing. read more

I would recommend Dr. Wainwright to anyone, without a single hesitation. His office is very clean, modern, and well-equipped. It's just all-around nice. The girls who work the front desk are extremely polite and very helpful and Dr Wainwright is just great. All of their equipment seems to be very new and top-of-the-line. I really liked that they do the check-up and cleaning all in one visit. I have been to many other dental offices that make you do separate trips. Background: Dr. Wainwright was my dentist up until a few (2ish?) years ago. Positives: His office is cheery, bright and conveniently located for those living in west Austin. Dr. Wainwright was also quite thorough and a very pleasant individual. Negatives: His dental hygienists seemed to be very snippy with me and made me feel extremely nervous. In fact, I had such a complex after visiting the last time that I refused to see the dentist for over a year. I have since found another dentist office that is more sensitive to my needs (and is definitely a better fit). His pricing is also noticeably higher than at my current dentist's office and his staff was not as helpful when it came to billing/insurance. read more

What a great experience I had with Dr. Wainwright! I just wanted a regular cleaning and checkup and was pleasantly surprised by a state-of-art facility, highly trained hygienist, friendly staff and an honest dentist who was not trying to sell me on needless procedures. I didn't have to wait two months to make an appointment - got right in the next day. They didn't try pushing any extra procedures such as whitening, fluoride treatment, periodontal cleaning like other dentists often do. The insurance covered everything - no extra costs (unlike my previous dental office which was from a common chain). On the positive side, Wainwright seems to be a nice guy and the office and staff are very pleasant. I came to him in the Fall of 2019 complaining of pain in my lower right jaw. He thought it was a tooth that had an existing crown on it and replaced the crown. The pain never really went away but then the pandemic hit which made me reluctant to go to a dentist. Finally, in the Fall of 2020 I went to an endodontist who performed a series of tests (that Wainwright should have performed before replacing my crown). The endodontist correctly determined that the pain was coming from the wisdom tooth near the crown that Wainwright replaced. I went to another dentist who put a crown on the wisdom tooth that was causing the pain. Problem fixed. So just like those surgeons one hears about who amputate the wrong leg, Wainwright put a crown on the wrong tooth!!!! In so doing, he caused me to suffer through a year of dental pain and the expense of two crowns instead of one. When i pointed this out to him and asked for a partial refund, he commented on how problematic my teeth were and refused to refund a penny. My conclusion is that although he seems to be a nice guy, he is not. read more

I was referred to Dr Wainwrights office for a tooth extraction. His staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Wainwright walked me through my options and was patient and thorough. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the payment consult is where I learned that the whole treatment would cost $8000+. For a single molar, extraction, graft, implant, and crown. And they requested payment in advance. I decided to commit to the extraction and graft and they were fine with that. The extraction and graft went smoothly, I am having less discomfort than I expected and am extremely pleased with the experience. I could have shopped around but felt very comfortable with his office and might shop for the implant and crown because thats $5000+. But I highly recommend his services. read more

Update: I had to have an inlay done this past summer (in June). My insurance company decided they weren't going to pay anywhere close to the full amount, so I was left holding a hefty bill (close to $800). Olga was AWESOME and resubmitted the claim several times, each time providing the insurance company with justification for the work that I had had done. Five months later, and the insurance company has finally paid the claim! In fact, I even got some money back! If this had happened at any other dentist office, they probably would have just submitted it once and then sent me a bill, but not Dr. Wainwright's office. They work hard for their patients, and because of that I am so grateful. Their persistence and patience saved me a ton of money. read more

I have been going to Dr.Wainwright now for about 6 or 7 years now. I have always been afraid to go to the dentist most my adult life but an old filling gave way and being recommended to Dr.Wainwright was the best thing. I explained my fear of dentist's and in my first consultation Dr. Wainwright explained processes and removed all fear of going to the dentist there after. Nice but horribly inept front desk staff that requires you to schedule routine exams 3-6 months in advance, keeps you waiting 20 minutes past your appointment time without asking your name, then loses your appointment. Dr. Wainright was recommended to me 4years ago he's been a teriffic dentist and I've been completely satisfied with him and his professional staff. He provides a personal level of service that from some of my past experiences, is lacking with other providers. I had old amalgam fillings that had been compromised and were leaking into my teeth that required onlays as well as other teeth that had cavities filled by him and each has been done with gental care and the utmost professionalism. Dr. Wainwright takes the time to explain the options that are available, along with the pros and cons and then provides a strategy that best fits your needs. He has some the latest top of the line high tech equipment, a very clean inviting office, as well as a friendly personality. I especially like his digital camera that he utilizes. I have been going to Glen Wainwright for years and he's always trying to push a procedure. I got a quote from another dentist for the same procedure and Dr. Wainwright was twice as much. I'm changing dentist, everything from cleaning to x-rays cost twice as much, there are plenty of great dentists in Austin at a reasonable cost. Dr. Wainwright's office is immaculate and very warm and inviting. His staff was also cheerful, friendly and helpful. He spent a lot of time explaining his approach to treatment and dental care to my son (and to me as well). He asked my son if he had any questions about our treatment plan and talked to him in a kind and direct manner. Dr. Wainwright is also very knowledgeable re: advancements in dental care procedures and techniques which is helpful as it gives my son (and our family) various treatment options. His staff was informative and clear about fees associated w/ treatment and let us know up front how much our treatment would cost.
