Oh wow, this place, just wow. So here's the rundown.....car breaks down at a service center after hours, grab the bus home, a friend suggests we go back so he can take a look at it, maybe spare myself a repair bill? Come back, no car!!! This was literally less than two hours later! We go to break my car out of jail, $193 later!!!! I mean, WHAT!?!?! I tried explaining to homeboy running the place what the deal was, no such luck. He just keeps telling me in broken english that they need approval from the service center for my car to be there. Yea, so please tell me how I'm suppose to get approval if it was after hours and there was NO ONE THERE?!?! I was told to take it up with the manager on Monday. I call Monday, ask for the manager by name, the guy asks me who I am and then he says she's not here, check back in an hour, OK, cool. I call back in an hour, block my number and speak with an accent just so I don't have to haul my happy butt down there and wear some ass out, just to speak with this lady. And do you know what she says? You can take it to court, it was a good tow. A "good tow?" I'm sorry I missed the part that was "good" about any of this? Maybe for them because they pocketed $200 on someone else's misfortune. Obviously predatory towing going on here, it's just bad business ethics, period. Reading the rest of the reviews it seems pretty clear that there have been quite a few people taken advantage of by this company. Making money off of towing cars that are legally parked, not in a fire zone, not blocking anything, not loitering there causing problems, legitimately bringing business is not OK. For shame!! Welcome to Hades! I drove an hour and a half just for them to tell me that they wanted me to come back the next day so they could screw another $95 out of me all because they wanted more documents than I had brought with me to prove it was my car. How much more do they need than the registration and insurance. Don't worry one bit about it. as you drive in and look at the way that they keep up their yard their personal hygiene matches. Have a nice day and make sure that you park properly next time. Had a great experience with Austin Express Towing. The guy on the phone was very friendly, and the driver ended up arriving in half of the time I was quoted. I obviously can't comment on picking your car up from their lot, but I would definitely recommend them if you are getting your car towed to the Volvo dealership. read more

I was suprised by the low review-this place came to our aid in the middle of the night after someone stole my friends keys. They towed her car to her place, were really friendly and helpful (both on the phone and in person) and didn't take advantage of us, it was 5 a.m. as well so I think that says a lot! I hope I don't need their service in the future but if I ever need a tow truck I'll be giving them a call....I even have their number saved in my phone! read more

My boyfriend and I were stranded at Burleson and Ben White at 12:30 this morning and the tow truck driver, who just happened to be at the same Exxon we were, offered to come back and help us out once he finished his next job. Our tire and spare were both screwed (the original tire literally had a screw in it) and we didn't have a jack so we waited for him to come back to us around 3:30. Long story short, he offered that he could take us back to the shop and patch the hole and send us on our merry way. It was a night filled with nothing but terrible luck and our only saving grace was Austin Express Towing. Super helpful and friendly and willing to help us however he could. This company is horrible. I truly cannot even believe they are still able to run their business with how unprofessional and rude they are. I have a small car and parked in a parking lot right next to the wine bar I was at. When I parked, there were no towing signs and the parking lot was full. When I got back to the parking lot, my car was gone. The parking lot was empty and thus made any signage more visible. I saw a towing sign about 3 spaces from where my car should have been parked had it not been towed. I was also with another person who parked in the same lot as well and his car remained in the parking lot. WTF?? Really? That truly makes a whole lot of sense. Randomly picking cars? That's awesome. I went to the towing location and asked them to explain why they took my car, and they slammed the window in my face. I called the cops and the cops even said that many people get their cars illegally towed by this company. Many people choose to not fight it because it is too costly. I paid almost $200 for my car to sit there less than an hour in their towing lot. I know that in my case there ended up being a towing sign; however, it was not visible to me before I parked there. And to go to the courts to try to fight this where there seems to be no clear law on the visibility of towing signs, its not worth it. But it is worth posting how this company treats people. I hired this company to tow a car across town. The car was unregistered so I didn't want to take a chance driving it. When we arrived at the destination the driver told me he only accepted cash. This is something that was not revealed when I ordered the tow. The driver then told me if I didn't cough up the cash he would tow me to his yard and charge me $190 instead of $85. He required me to leave my keys with him while I went to the bank to get a withdrawal to make up for the fact that I only had $55 on me. When I got back from the bank I discovered that the driver had run across the street to alert a police officer in his car that I was driving drunk and that the police would want to talk to me when i returned from the bank! In fact, I'm a non-drinker and I was only driving slowly while leading the tow truck to the destination. It was not clear to me if the driver knew where he was going. Do not use this company for any reason at all. They towed my car from my place of residence because they said my front left tire was toucing the grass a bit. Can you believe this? When I called the individual that answered the phone could not even give me directions to the business. In my opinion you should not use this business in any form or fashion. Go to any other towing business except for this one. Luckily I make good money so that is not the issue. I will say this - I will not feel sorry the next time I hear about a tow truck driver being executed for trying to tow a vehicle especially if they are from this company. Avoid this company like the plague!!!!! While I admit the fact that I was illegally parked, what they did to my car is astounding. I arrived at their lot at 2:00 in the morning because I desperately needed my car only to find out that either while they were hooking up my car or while driving, they punctured a HOLE IN THE OIL PAN! Anyone who knows anything about cars will tell that this is extremely detrimental to the car. So, even though I could've paid the fees that night, I couldn't drive my car off the lot before it would explode. Both the dispatcher on duty and the driver admitted that it was their fault and that they would rectify the situation. They told me to come back in the morning when the owner would be there and he would probably waive the fees and fix the damages. Next day, the owner says there was prior damage to my car that caused the hole in the oil pan. UH, HELLO!!!!!!! I may be a woman but I'm not stupid! There is no way in hell that I could've driven my car anywhere if there was already a punctured oil pan. AND, he would not waive the fees. The worst part of all is that I was in a RENTAL CAR! It wasn't even mine!!!! Luckily for me, Enterprise was able to get me into another car that day and will most likely be suing Austin Express Towing! I'd give these people ZERO stars..... negative 100 stars!!! I went into my neighborhood convenience store, which I visit ALL the time, to pick up a bottle of wine and a bag of chips. I was in there barely 5 minutes, and come out to find my car hooked up to an Austin Express towtruck, about to be hauled off. I was fortunately able to stop the driver and get my car, , but WHAT THE HELL?? I was legitimately in the lot, in the store buying stuff, and didn't go ANYWHERE else!!! What if I had stayed to have a conversation w/ the clerk, and I had come out and it was already gone? It could've made me late for work, and gotten me into some serious issues, docked pay, or even FIRED!!! Or I could go on and on with possible scenarios, but this is totally unacceptable. I gave the driver a major dressing down - (didn't curse at him...yay me!) - and to his credit, he did apologize. He kept saying "it's just a job..."-- yeah, well, what about MY job you could've jeapordized? I called the company, and the dispatcher actually admitted the drivers are paid on commission!! Haul 'em away as many and as fast as ya can, fellas!!! Holy crap!! Fortunately, it had a happy ending. I got my car and I had a receipt. But this is crazy. I could have had a major issue in my day/week/month due to this guy just randomly taking my car so he could make his commission or quota or whatever. My car was in wreck and was picked up by Austin express towing.When I called them a day later they told me that they didn't have my car,I had to call the police to find out where my car was at.The police called Austin express towing to find out where they took my car,well come to find out they did have my car on their lot impound.The police called me back letting me know that is was at (AET),My wife called (AET) on Saturday,they told her not to come by cause they were very busy on Saturday to come by Monday I guess that way they could charge extra days for impounding my car.then I had a wrecker truck go to (AET) to pick up my car well they didn't let him take my car.they charged me for another day and I went the very next day with a wrecker and told them if they didn't let me pick up my car I was calling the cops.I took my car and it cost me $481.00.What a bunch of rip offs.Hope you all are never in a car wreck but if you are and Austin express towing is there to pick up your car,DON"T LET THEM read more

This place doesn't even deserve ONE STAR!!! I got my car towed in an apt complex where the tow truck guy sits there outside the gates of the apts all night walking in apt complex everytime he sees a car go inside with his flash light looking at windshields for stickers...mind u there is no visitor parking anywhere its a small one street with one gate apt complex I was there visiting a friend im in side for ten min as soon as I come out to leave its gone! I go all the way to this damn place to get my car paid $200 to get it out as soon as I hit that smooth road out of there towing place my whole car startes thumping and my whole steering wheel is pushing left!!! Mind you I just got my car inspected 3 days prior with nothing wrong with my tires or my car period! My car sat there in front of that window one more night as the employee informed me to take it home in that condition and come back to speak with the boss!!! Are u kidding me???!!!! Hell no I left it outside the gates so they wouldnt charge me another $200 for it sitting another night...came back the next morning to have the owner tell me I did it to my car???!!! There was a complete burnt/dead spot on my right front tire where u can tell the tow guy did NOT TOW MY CAR RIGHT, he dragged my car while in park of the parking spot then connected it to his truck....owner sai he would replace my tire with another on at his junkyard down the steet...I drive my car down the street and they didnt have my size tire so I called my own AAA service and handled it myself also informed ownerb I wanted full re-embursement of me having to pay for two new tires...he wasnt willing to give to me at all...im suing them!!!! read more
