My hair was a beautiful blonde and I told her I wanted mixed dark and blonde highlights but she did all my hair dark and left a few blonde highlights darker than blonde, nothing like what I showed her in the photo and we talked, she ruined my hair. She also wanted to cut my hair and told me because it would look good. I told her several times. NO, I wanted to let it grow, she continued to insist and I felt pressured and I let her do what she wanted. How sad it shouldn't be this way .they should respect the clients' decisions. I got the best highlights done every single person in this facility. Does such an amazing job with the coloring. My hair doesn't turn orange after and if it does get a little bit disbalance, they do a toner for me for free on the house because I'm always coming back as a returning customer, they take care of their customers. This place is known for a quick blowout spot. Your hair will look gorgeous within 15 minutes of arrival. The sweetest part about this place is that she feeds you like you're her child.! Definitely ask for the price for what services you'll be receiving once you arrive, then ask again to confirm, and again to reconfirm and again because this place played me bad. Months before I decided to get my hair done here, I walked by and got quoted about $250 for a balayage for everything including wash, cut, dry. I decided I didn't want to pay that much for a place I've never been to for my balayage so I later returned and just got a single process hair with wash, cut, and dry... When I walked in, I let them know I what I wanted. I was told for me it would be $120 total since I have long hair. Which was fine, since after calculating with the sign posted, it looked like my single process hair would be 60 and my cut, wash, and dry was 60. Or something along those numbers.... Yeah, after I was done, I was overcharged and was told my single process was 120 alone plus an additional 60 for wash, cut, dry... that was insane to me. I asked how the price changed when I was told 120 total.. I was over it by then and just paid. As much as I like my hair, it was way darker than I asked and way shorter than I wanted. I wouldn't come back simply due to the lack of honesty in prices that are posted in the salon. After reading other reviews, it looks like this is a consistent thing. What a shame. read more

I had a terrible experience here. I came into the salon and explicitly stated I only needed a wash and cut. I even provided pictures of what I wanted and expressed several times that I only wear my hair curly. I was not only unheard, but lied to. After my wash, the woman who washed my hair asked me again if I wanted a blow dry (third time), I explicitly told her "no." Then when I went to go sit at Lora's chair, she proceeded to ask me, yet again, if I wanted my hair blow dried, AGAIN, I repeatedly told her "no." As she is cutting my hair, she begins to go on a tangent about how the neighborhood used to be, and how much better it used to be until "certain" people started moving in. Extremely inappropriate, closed minded, xenophobic and unprofessional. She took all of 7 minutes to cut my hair and then proceeded to blow dry my hair STRAIGHT even though I had made it extremely clear that I do not ever straighten my hair. Needless to say, it was an extremely uncomfortable situation to be subjected to a hair dresser that expresses xenophobic views of the community we reside in, but also to blatantly ignore my wishes as a paying customer. What should've cost me no more than $60 turned to $105 dollars, with an expected tip. I will never return to this salon again and will make sure my extensive community never does as well. I got my services done with Zhanna for over 15 years, until one day she ruined my very 1st highlights experience with sitting and gossiping out loud with clients about other clients. I paid over $250, only to come back after the 1st wash back with green highlights. Zhanna re-colored my hair free of charge and I never went back until recently to see zarina another colorist. on June 26th I contacted zarina to get a blow dry for an event with my extensions which btw cost me $400, zarina was happy to serve me but when I hit there she was busy with 4 customers waiting for her before me. I told zarina I will just go as I was running late but Zhanna offered to do my hair instead. zhanna sadly burned my extensions, blow dry I got made me look like 60yo lady. I got home washed my hair off and restyled them myself. Zhanna never wind up putting the extensions in saying that they are not necessary as my hair after her blow dry looked good. I took the extensions out today to get them styled by the professional and realize led that Zhanna burned my extensions. I called Zhanna immediately after I noticed and she told me to stop by the store. I did, with the client on her chair she right away started claiming she didn't do it and that it's not her job. As a professional Zhanna didn't have the decency to apologize and man up for her craftsmanship. stay away from this place, there is absolutely no professionalism on the business owners part who happens to be Zhanna. read more

Second she always tries to convince you to do way more then what you need! Third she made the color so dark like most Russians look and I look washed out as do they! She told me honestly that she can't be sure if my hair would take the bleaching process with the photo I showed her to apply to my hair. She said she will do her best and yet she did an amazing job! Amazing! Picked this salon based on the reviews and proximity, but I'm so glad I did. I have always experienced hairdressers doing whatever they want and completely avoiding my requests, NOT THE CASE HERE!. I even had pictures to show zhanna but chose not to show her so she could cut to compliment my facial structure, and I'm so glad I did. I'm bummed with my experience at Austin Fancy Cut. I was excited that they're a short walk from my apartment and when I walked in it was small but nicely decorated. I got a single process color. I asked on the phone when I made the appointment how much it would be and they said $45-60. Their sign also says $45-60. They dyed my hair and it was darker than I wanted but I didn't want to do it again. I went to pay and they charged me $90. I told them they said it was less and they said that was the price so they basically lied on the phone and their sign is inaccurate. I would have come back every month to do my roots if I wasn't overcharged. They just lost my business. read more

The last time I went i do my color elsewhere to the same lady that I've gone too before I even started going to this place. Okay last time I was here was back in March for a haircut as a walk in. I told Paul I would be back and here I am 7mo later! I did another walk in to inquire about the pricing for balayage. RUN AWAY! I went to this hair salon on early July and can't express enough what a horrible experience it was. I asked for a simple balayage and showed photos of what I wanted; my hair was virgin at the time and I expressed that I wanted a subtle look and didn't want that much of it died, regardless of my request the hair stylist bleached almost my entire head of hair and didn't even bother with toning it. I was left with the most horrible brassy/orange hair I've ever seen. Needless to say, I left the hair salon in tears. I was in such a state the following day that I called out from work saying that I had an emergency, which IT WAS (couldn't even look at myself in the mirror without breaking down), and went to Delaj Hair, where I was able to have it fixed thankfully. Bottom line is that this place is a nightmare and a huge waste of money (I ended up spending around $600 in hair in 2 days - UNACCEPTABLE), couldn't be more regretful and angry to have gone here. I truly believe that the hairdresser wasn't skilled but he shouldn't have taken on a task he couldn't complete - his incompetency costed me lots of $, a nervous breakdown, time, gas, peace, the health of my virgin-healthful hair. There was a short wait when we got there on a Saturday morning. We wanted to donate her hair and they were accommodating.
