    Mission accomplished.

As someone who also works in medicine, I have an understanding of both the science and service side of clinical care. Throughout our fertility journey, I was unbelievably impressed with the attention to detail and education that Dr. Moghadam provided. I can unequivocally state this without hesitation - Dr. M genuinely cares about each patient that walks through the door, AND is laser focused on helping them achieve the best possible outcome. I firmly believe he's one of the last few souls that chose medicine for the right reasons, and continues to instill this mantra in his practice today. While compliments and referrals are great, the real proof is the outcome data, and I'm happy to say we are blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby boy thanks to Dr. M and his staff. Exceptional experience.

After trying to conceive naturally we found ourselves like many couples in need of medical intervention. Fortunately, through a referral, my husband and I met Dr. Moghadam, and because of his sense of humor and directness, we knew he was the fertility endocrinologist we wanted to work with. While researching the infertility process before beginning treatment is crucial, the AFI team was more than willing to answer any questions we were unsure of. As a result, of having a doctor who was positive when we had doubts, we were blessed to welcome our son (Oliver) into the world in 2023, and hopefully, our second child in 2025 as we embark on the IVF journey again. We are grateful that we met a doctor and team, that we consider family now, who could help us make our dream a reality. And while the wait times can be lengthy, it's only because of Dr. Moghadam's desire to help as many people as possible to fulfill their dream.

He gives Dr.M and Austin Fertility a big thumbs up!

Wow! Where do I begin? My husband and I started our fertility treatment journey a little over 3 years ago while stationed in Alaska. We had suffered 8 miscarriages at this point, and none of our pregnancies had lasted beyond the first two months. It was a heartbreaking season for us and on top of it all we were a military family and were moving around every few years. We tried everything! Acupuncture, herbal remedies, essential oils (lol), and two failed IUI's. I went through many providers seeking answers and help on what I could do to achieve a full-term pregnancy with my husband. I am an Army veteran and my husband is on active duty -- but the VA nor the Tricare system covers IVF unless my infertility was service-connected. Then we got stationed here at Fort Cavazos a little over 2 years ago, and my primary care provider at the time sent me Dr. Moghadam's information. That was a blessing in disguise I tell ya! He was sooooo confident from the first meeting that I looked at my husband and said is this man for real??? Haha. How can he be so confident? But let me tell you -- this man and his staff are so gifted in this craft. I can't explain to you the science behind everything that is going on, but that science is engrained into Dr. Moghadam's brain. He might be a machine, who knows? Sometimes I wonder if there is a processor under that head of luxurious dark hair. Long story short, I had such a successful experience with him during our "first" round of IVF, where I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy who is now a little over two years old, that I came back for more. I was always scared after my first IVF procedure, but not because of the confidence I lacked in Dr. M or the staff, but because at this point I had doubted my body so much. But the confidence and expertise he exuded really kept me at bay. We are now currently 9 weeks pregnant with our second baby -- and just as before there was not a doubt in my mind that Dr. M was going to make it happen. The staff has also ALWAYS been so sweet to me and so caring. I love all the ladies there. I have never had any bad experiences with any of the staff members. And their level of knowledge is awesome too! Now that I have graduated from the Austin Fertility Clinic for maybe the last time... I will say I will miss everyone there. The appreciation and gratitude toward this practice goes without saying. AND I will miss hearing Dr. M's soles of his boots clank down the hallway when he is coming toward the exam room to give me great news!!! Here are some pics of my first lil guy Dr. M helped us bring to fruition!

She listens, takes her time with you, follows up, etc. My husband and I both felt extremely comfortable and at ease with her from the moment we met. Second, she's a great doctor. All our visits were informative and through, and she sent us to a specialist once when there was a potential possibility of a complication, as a precaution. Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, is that she really cares. I know there are some doctors who push c-sections, inductions, cord banking, etc., but Dr. Mileur was all about "let's deliver a healthy baby". My delivery ended up being quite complicated - the baby was too big to come out vaginaly, but Dr. Mileur by NO means jumped to a c-section as a solution, until literally everything else was explored. She did end up performing my c-section, which was as smooth as could be, and the stiching was great - have been healing very well. My baby ended up in the NICU for a little while after birth, and she even went to visit him there (babies have a different doctor once they are born, so she literally went just to see how he was doing). She's definitely my doctor for all my future pregnancies.

Im a GenXer, entering perimenopause at 49yrs old. I just moved to TX fm Southern California where I had access to some of the best medical in the world HOAG, UCLA, USC medical centers. Looking back I was prob in peri around age 44-45 with heavy cycles, brainfog, back sweats, major insomnia. She was one of the ONLY MD's who actually listened, saw and heard me. Its NOT normal to "deal with our next phase female symptoms". I went for a second opinion on a hysterectomy after seeing another gyn who I felt was treating me like a paycheck vs a patient. I was also gaining weight at a rapid amt which has never happened in my entire life. Dr. Abikhaled listened to me, explained why I am indeed a candidate for a hysterectomy based on my labs, ultrasound, biopsy, symptoms. She was also transparent sharing if I didn't feel comfortable or confident with her, she had 2 other colleagues she could refer me to. THIS is the type of medicine I need for me. Dr. Abikhalid is also a very clear communicator. She is very frank while having a nice bedside manner which I appreciate. Fast forward to pre-surgery consultation, based on my case I discussed keeping my ovaries bc Im not in full meno yet and didn't want to slam into meno like some of my friends did. She agreed that was a good option for me. I had my hysterectomy, preserving my ovaries via robotic surgery. It was 90min, outpatient. She was sure to have my pain meds ordered ahead of time. I had 4 small incisions from the surgery. No bleeding. I was off oxy on day 3. Managed pain with Tylenol/motrin. 1 week out I felt pretty strong, an ab binder would have been useful for the 1st 2 weeks esp for sleeping so buy 1 ahead of time (amazon has tons). Helps for ab core support. 3 weeks I was doing short walks outside yet still got fatigued pretty easily. Got back on my hrt patch and no more brain fog, no more insomnia, no more swollen hands and ankles. 6weeks I felt strong and fatigue finally was gone. I was cleared to do light weights again. Im at 8weeks. Im back exercising. Lifting up to 30lb. Back to weight training. Feeling strong, clear headed, no more swelling in my feet/ankles, insomnia is very little and i still get "mild" back sweats around 2/3am. Nothing like pre-hysterectomy where i was sweating through my shirt. If you have peri symptoms and painful or super heavy cycles like I had that is NOT normal. See Dr. Abikahlid. She is one of the best in womens health.

ARC nurture, now known as North Austin OB is phenomenal. I had previously been going to ARC…read morenorthwest but transferred to seeing doctors at this location because my doulas had referred me to going to Dr. Kaufman. Kaufman is phenomenal as well and had she delivered my baby I would have been ecstatic. To be honest, all the doctors I've seen have been wonderful through my pregnancy. I came to them at my 3rd trimester around the 30 week mark and as they moved from their old location to their new office. So I was able to make my first and last visit at the old place before they moved closer to St David's North. The practice is cozy and warm as much as a doctors office can be and compared to my old OB experience it's night and day. I feel heard and didn't feel like I was going through the motions, no crazy waits to see the doctor for 10 minutes and each doctor I saw since you're not guaranteed a specific doctor to deliver your baby, was kind and reassuring when I met them all. During my pregnancy, all was going well until it was found that my 3rd trimester, I would be diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Dr. Sandu gave the diagnosis and while I was upset at first, I realize it was her by the books and no nonsense care that ensured a healthy mommy and healthy baby. Which is the ultimate goal when you think about where you want to land on D day. I am forever grateful for her kind words to give me the reality check so I had as little complications as I could in the hospital when delivering. I was scheduled for induction on Friday and Dr. Sandhu checked on me that evening, and as we saw no progression made, Dr. Bandi took over into Saturday. With my doula and husbands help to support me in the ordeal, we realized after over 24 hrs of pitocin administered and laboring that I wasn't making fast enough progress. I also saw our baby boys heart rate dip on occasion and was worried about his health. Due to the pain being unbearable even with an epidural as the pitocin overtired my body, Dr. Bandi was kind with her words to help guide and inform me of my options of how we could continue to labor or in the final outcome, an unplanned c section. While I balked at the idea of surgery, the pain was honestly too much and I didn't feel I would have the energy to continue if I would wait it out. I let my team know I wanted to think about it and we would see if/when I could be taken to the OR. We were able to be taken back immediately and Dr. Bandi was able to reassure me we'd be able to see our baby boy soon. Surgery done, and we got our healthy baby boy and my birth although not what I planned, still got me wonderful positives and an outcome I loved. Thank you for your love, support and care!

I have always recommended this office to my friends, as the office is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and the care is next level. Some years ago, I voiced my concerns to Dr. Shepherd about potentially having PCOS. She took my claim seriously and gave me a formal diagnosis, which is more than I can say about other doctors I had raised this concern to. The past couple of months, I have been going through an ectopic pregnancy, which was at first thought to be a miscarriage. Dr. Shepherd and Dana Wicker were the two primarily responsible for my care during this time. These two women were incredibly professional, informative, and diligent in care when it came to my health and the potential risks this could cause. In addition, they were kind and compassionate as my husband and I went through our loss and the health anxiety it caused. I can say with full confidence that while this experience was incredibly difficult and heartbreaking, it was made better by the bedside manner and care provided by this office. They lost their only truly excellent fertility doctor years ago, and now they have OB-GYNs without fertility board certification providing care at the same premium price. The approach is completely one-size-fits-all. Patients are pushed through the system like cattle. There is no individualized care. When I tried to discuss what had worked for us previously--the protocol that resulted in the birth of our son--I was told that this new doctor (a sub from the Dallas clinic) does things the same way for everyone. Apparently personalized fertility treatment is no longer a priority. After our transfer failed, they called to tell me I was no longer pregnant. Less than an hour later, I received a $5,500 bill for the next cycle. There was no discussion about my loss, no conversation about next steps, no attempt to understand how I wanted to move forward. Just an invoice. I am now transferring to a smaller clinic in Austin that actually provides individualized care, and Kindbody has made the process unnecessarily difficult. I completed all required paperwork, yet I am being told I must wait nearly two months for a 10-15 minute "protocol call" simply to give permission--again--to transfer my embryos. I find it hard to believe that a phone call requiring a simple yes or no cannot be accommodated sooner. One employee even told me there are "so many people transferring their embryos to other clinics right now." When I responded that this didn't seem like a good sign for Kindbody, she immediately tried to walk it back. That interaction spoke volumes. The lack of personal care became especially obvious during my second transfer cycle. Patients are literally referred to as "batches." You'll hear staff talk about your batch and how many women are in it. The waiting room is packed before 7 a.m. because they continue taking on more and more patients without providing the level of care those patients deserve. At the end of the day, Kindbody feels like a business focused on volume, not families. Fertility treatment is one of the most emotional, vulnerable, and expensive experiences a person can go through. Patients deserve compassion, communication, and individualized treatment. I experienced very little of that here. Save your money, your time, and your emotional well-being. There are far better fertility clinics out there.
