Let me start by saying that I've known some excellent doctors, and have had a couple of…read moreearth-shatteringly bad experiences as well. Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. When I think about how quickly Dr. Julie started "cracking the case", and all the co-pays and labs past that never quite addressed my issue, I realize that I have now SAVED time and money in the long run. What's more...I could have gotten REALLY sick were it not for Dr. Julie and her findings. She very well might have saved my future from being...well, not so bright. Thinking about calling for an appointment with Dr. Julie Reardon? I say go for it...you will NOT regret it, and you have everything to gain.

His office called and told me they had sent instructions for preparing for the procedure by email and a prescription for a prep kit to CVS at 4001 W. William Cannon. I went by CVS and they said they had no prescription. After another day, and not having received the instructions, I called the office and told them I had not received the instructions and CVS did not have a record of the prescription. The person I talked to said that she was sending both right then. I went back to CVS and they said they had received the prescription, but insurance had denied it. I called the office again and informed of this, and told them that I had yet to receive the emailed instructions, and yes, I had looked in my spam folder. They said they would resend the instructions and send a different prescription to CVS. I went back to CVS and this time they had the prescription and it had been approved by insurance. I called the office again and told them I had gotten the prep kit, but not the instructions, and I asked them what email address they were sending them to, and they replied with a bogus address. I told them that this was the wrong address, and they replied defensively that this was the address that I had given them. I replied that I had made a big mistake, and how alarming it was that I could not even remember my own email address. They said they would send the instructions to the new email address. After another day without receiving the instructions I called again, and this time the person said they would send the instructions immediately, and I received them while on the phone with them. I carefully read the instructions and noted that it said, "take all your regular medications at least four hours before the procedure with two ozs. of water." At 9 AM this morning, I took a tab of Eliquis, a blood thinner which had been prescribed because of an intractable blood clot in my brachial artery with the last bottle of purgative from the prep kit. When I arrived for my procedure at 1:30 PM this afternoon, I was told by the nurse that the procedure could not go ahead because I had taken the Eliquis that morning. Dr. Lubin apologized profusely and said his office for which he was responsible had made a mistake in not noticing that I had listed Eliquis as one of my regularly scheduled medications, and, so, had not called to tell me not to take it before the colonoscopy. He asked me to call back and reschedule and they would get me in as soon as possible. He was so sorry that I would have to do the prep again as he knew from personal experience how difficult that is. He concluded that he wanted to make amends to me for this mistake. This afternoon, I called Dr. Lubin's office and attempted to reschedule the procedure. The scheduler said, "This procedure has been cancelled. You can't reschedule." I explained about the mistake and how Dr. Lubin had asked me to reschedule, and the scheduler replied, "You can't reschedule without clearance."

If you're a new patient your insurance will probably require a referral. I was able to get one in a couple of weeks and the doctor explained the entire process and got my laxatives ordered for the colonoscopy the following month. Post COVId I think this is great. The was anxious about the prep but it went smoothly. I got the earliest appointment possible so I wouldn't have to fast too long. They checked me in and I put in my gown. The nurses and anesthesiologist were excellent. The doctor was great no side effects so far. I was in and out within an hour. Definitely love the central location too. As for parking, yeah they do about 100 colonoscopies a day and you need someone to drive you home afterwards so the parking lot will be busy but that's everywhere in central Austin.

My last appointment left me waiting in the doctor's office for 32 minutes while I heard a bunch of laughter from patients nearby. I worry that the nurses might be talking about the patients too loudly, violating HIPAA laws. All of that being said, I really love my providers and the scheduling staff. Dr. Diddempudi is wonderful and so is her Nurse Practitioner. I have had several procedures with Diddempudi and I trust her with my life. Now...can y'all please remove the tower iPad advertisements in the doctor's offices? They give me so much anxiety and seem like a money grab.
