I have been going to this store for years and have never been disappointed. I needed a gift for someone who I didn't know well enough to know what to get them. I asked their co-workers what she liked and was told "pizza and bunnies". I went to Austin Gift Company but did not have much time to scour the store because I was on my lunch hour. Employee Larissa was kind enough to take my number and look for my items!! She would text me pictures of things she found and it was incredibly helpful. Great store! Reminds me of spending the day going through several shops like this on lower Greenville in Dallas digging for treasures! Very large store. The left side houses isles and isles of individual booths that include everything from vintage purses to homemade crafts. Scored a unique seatbelt guitar strap for only 8 bucks! The right side of the store is all about novelty. If you can imagine in - they probably have i t! Quirky cooking utensils, vintage and one-of-kind candies, UT gear, horse head masks, strictly Texas goodies, Dallas Cowboys face paint, ...and on and on! You are certain to find the "gift" for the person who has everything here because I bet ya there are things at Austin Gift Company they've never even seen before! In addition to Austin branded gifts, the shop has products from independent artists and business owners, gag gifts (cultural, political, tv, movies, etc.), etc. Basically a great variety! We came here looking for souvenirs to take home to Houston and were totally blown away. While we DID find plenty of awesome things to take back that said "Austin" or some variation of a slogan, that's basically irrelevant here. If you want to find a unique gift for someone, it's here. This place is so fun to get lost in eye candy at. Planters, yard art, memorabilia, vintage, vinyl, and all kinds of other art and fashion. My favorite little area is from Roam Flee. She has an EXCELLENT eye for what's cool and has quality. She has kaftans, hats, purses, tapestry's, and gems from literally all over the world. I stopped here because I wanted to get a gift for my friend. Austin Gift Company came up in my Yelp search for places to get souvenirs that are local to Austin. The location is within the Target parking off of South Lamar. There is plenty of parking but note it is a very busy parking lot with many non-driving people. I spent a good 30 minutes looking around the store because there were so many different items from T-shirts, handmade signs, metal folk art statues, candles, etc. I ended up buying a T-shirt, a few Christmas ornaments, and a metal Longhorn statue. Everyone was super friendly and it was great being able to support a local business. The only thing I could do without is the loud country music playing. However, music is subjective and I am not a fan of country music. read more

I found Austin Gift Co. on a fluke- a friend who helped me move here was looking for collectible spoons featuring Austin as a thank you gift for her pet sitter. I looked on Yelp and guess who still carries them? But this isn't some old biddy store- they have something for everyone on your holiday shopping list- even the hard to shop for!, need a hostess gift, or even a little something fun for yourself. I found my white elephant gift here (Ren and Stimpy printed socks) that was so popular a very gray area of the rules was invoked in order to snatch them away. They also have very reasonably priced welded yard art, unlike some places where the items are in the triple digits. I bought a goofy looking giraffe that stares out on my front porch and has yet to raise the ire of my HOA. (My only regret in life was not buying the trumpet playing mariachi armadillo one time as the lady who buys the sculptures can't custom order them, she just picks up whatever the vendor is selling- but they can put you on a wait list for requested items.) I never walk out empty handed, though I've tried! The holiday decor is especially cute. But there's something for any gift giving occasion all year round! This place is absolutely AMAZING!! I have been coming here for years and it's almost like a new shopping experience every time. I can spend hours in there, not to mention spending lots of money in there buying such amazing treasures. This is the only gift store where I have actually been able to buy GIFTS. Austin Gift Company is kind of like a small craft mall / Texas souvenir store, but a bit more refined...and just better. I think of it like a smaller and more predictable version of Austin's artisan fair scene (think Pecan Street Festival, Armadillo Bazaar, First Thursday). It's super fun just to browse handmade crafts, decorative items, antiques, novelty snacks, and UT/A&M paraphanalia. There's something wacky, something fun, something corny. This is a mini-mall, set up like an antique shop. Lots of small closet-size booths by local artisans on one half of the store. Bulk manufactured items on the other side of the store. It reminded me a bit of Spencer's or Hot Topic in the selection on the manufactured side - Austin/Texas t-shirts, silly & irreverent toys, alcohol holders... very Austin type place. I liked the leather drink coasters & the tiny silicone llama cup markers that sit on the rim of your glass. This is a place I will probably come back to next time I am in town. read more

I've driven past this place a million times. I finally went in and was surprised at all the cool, locally made stuff. This is THE place to go to get Austin onesies, magnets of La Zona Rosa, art, etc. I dropped a star because it's pretty ugly on the outside and sort of cluttered on the inside. This is the coolest gift shop that I have ever visited! It may seem a bit unspectacular on the outside, but boy oh boy are there many cool treasures inside. This store is a good size and carries a very wide range of unique goods and gifts, including cute keychains, magnets, dog bandanas, candles, coasters featuring Austin sights, jewelry, toys, snacks, and more! I could easily spend over an hour browsing the selection. I've never seen a store that rents out displays to artists for them to sell merchandise, most of which is handmade and local; what a neat idea. We're going on the trip, and wanted to bring some Austin themed souvenirs for friends. I searched for gift shops on yelp, and Austin Gift Company came up. It was relatively close to me, and had good reviews. By looking at the pictures, it seemed rather large and well stocked. So, I decided to visit. It is located near Target, that makes it easy to find. There is plenty of parking. The shopping center itself is a bit old, dingy, and sketchy looking right off 290/S Lamar. But don't let the area turn you away. The store is fabulous. It was large, had rows and rows of variety of nick nacks with Austin skyline and popular buildings/walls, famous people, famous sayings, T-shirts, small and very large metal art, handmade gifts by local artists, candles, Texas size candy etc etc. We ended up with a nice variety of small gifts that represented Austin's culture. I always go for local business if I can - love supporting my peeps. Everyone at the store was helpful and friendly, and their location did not require for me to drive downtown to touristy areas. This place is so cute! Wow! I had no idea what it was till I googled places to buy Texas souvenirs. We spent over an hour in here with our little boy and the staff were super cool. Normally people give you looks or treat you bad if you have a toddler in a gift store but they were so chill and nice. The store smells really nice and all the booths were neat and pretty.
