Found Austin Tint via Yelp. Though it s not close to home I decided to contact the owner for a quote, also via Yelp. The owner, Peter, responded within hours and explained everything in detail. Unlike some other ting shops I contacted via Yelp, Peter was very patient and answered every single question I had, again, within hours. He also offered the best price for ceramic films and clear windshield tint. Peter also gave me a discount when I took a friend along. The folks there were very courteous and pleasant to talk to. I just had my new Subaru Forester there a month ago to get my windows tinted. My fiancé and her mother already went there before and they highly recommended the guys. So I called and made an appointment. The guys showed me the different options and they helped me with picking the best tone and level of heat reduction. I picked the highest level (ceramic) for ~$300. It's totally worth it and it makes a bug difference! The guys did an awesome job and took great care of my car. Why can't all businesses be like this? Austin Tint heard, "I can't see out my windows and the film is scratched.... I need you to strip all the tint off these windows and re-tint them all." They looked at the windows and pointed out, "These windows are factory tinted and the previous truck owner added film! ... The best 'bang-for-your-buck' is to just strip the tint off the back windows and see where that gets us." They cranked up the shop tunes and got me out of there in less than an our instead of having to leave the truck for the day. OMG!!! I called around to see who could install Lamin-X that I had purchased for my Cadillac XLR's taillights. Nobody in Austin wanted to install them. I called Austin Tint and he told me to stop by and he would look at them. He then advised me that those films are horrible. I ended up sending them back to Amazon and he specially ordered some transparent plastidip and sprayed my lights at a very reasonable price. They look amazing!!! The plastidip is definitely the way to go and is more transparent than the covers or films. I had some bad luck with Sun Tint previously and highly recommend Austin Tint. The owner is very friendly and his prices are very competitive. I will be returning soon for some carbon fiber additions very soon! 5 STARS! Highly recommended!!! I can here to tint my black mazda about 6 months ago. I wanted to wait a while to make sure everything is still good. And it is! I chose the darkest tint, mainly for privacy reasons and also it looks nicer on my black car. The tint looks great, no bubbles or any issues even after a couple months. I used him last year for my Mercedes E-coupe and not only does everything look perfect, the car doesn't get scorching hot in the summer even though I have black interior leather; the reason is because I also got the ceramic tint on my windshield that helps reduce/ reflect the heat (not completely of course but I noticed the difference). I chose Austin Tint because of it's high rating on Yelp. I needed to get my tint re-done because it was crappy looking and, more importantly, I failed inspection. I called up on a Saturday, and was warned that this was his busy time of year. I expected that would mean I would have to wait long to get in, but I was set up with an appointment first thing Monday morning. I was quoted $40 for tint removal and $70 to replace the tint on the door windows. When I got in, I was greeted, and Peter remembered talking to me. He did not try to upsell me at all and answered all the questions I had about my options. I decided to get all the tint replaced on my truck because the price difference was not too significant. Even with the extra added work, I was in and out in an hour. When I got the bill at the end, I was ready to see all sorts of add-on fees, but the price quoted was exactly what I paid, including tax and all. Although there are probably some cheaper alternatives out there, I think $160 is a pretty great deal for removal and installation. The tint comes with a lifetime warranty, and looks great-- not like the purple hued stuff I had on there. I literally looked back at my truck multiple times after parking it because it looks so good. I swear the tint is like botox for cars: makes it look 5 years younger at least! I'd rate Austin Tint highly on quality of product, quality of work, service, and price. I highly recommend this shop, and would go there again myself for other cars. read more
