Very happy with some paint work recently done at Tint Specialist. My truck got keyed and other body shops insisted the entire side of the truck needed to be painted. Hector was able to just repaint the doors and buff out the majority of the scratches on the rest saving me a lot of $. If you have a Tesla, do NOT go here. They scratched my car window and claimed they did not do it. They wrinkled the entire back tint. It did not even cover to the edge. There are also water marks in my fabric. They do not have a clean room so expect bubbling, hair, dirt and dust to be in the windows. Do NOT recommend. read more

Don't go here. This has been the worst tint experience of my entire life. I purchased a new car, and the dealer sent me here. I had pre-paid for this tinting at the dealer. The FIRST time they did the tint job there were huge bubbles. I took it back. They re-did the tint, and the SECOND time the windows now have dirt trapped between the tint and the glass. I'm so frustrated, I could cry. Even though I have now paid $145, have sacrificed my work schedule TWICE for this, there is no way I'm going back a THIRD time to continue to be disappointed. My wife was highly disappointed after dealing with these scam artists. The scam: They replace the tint on your rear window for $130 (?? after being quoted at $79 on the phone a couple weeks before, maybe their prices went up). Except they don't glue on a hard-to-notice spot of tint on the top of the rear window. Then, after driving your car around for a couple months, a passenger in the back seat will notice that your tint is peeling off (and looks like it was never actually glued on in the first place) on the top of your rear window. No problem, I think, "this is a highly rated company, they'll fix their mistake for free." So my wife takes it in, and they say, "Oh, what's that, you don't have your receipt from a car tinting that happened 3 months ago, even though we have a computer log of your exact VIN / License plate number with the receipt on record for ourselves? That will be $20 to fix." Not a huge deal, but then as my wife is waiting at the local coffee shop, she gets a call saying it will *actually* be $40 to fix. Woah, what a deal! So it will only end up costing $170 to replace the tint on a single window. Give me a break. So my wife calls me nearly in tears, and says she is extremely frustrated with this company and will be taking her business elsewhere. I don't blame her. I will be uploading a photo showing the crappy tint job, courtesy of Tint Specialist. And then they even have the gall to try to lecture my wife about "Oh you should keep receipts for everything, you know!" Bull! You have the receipt IN YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM. You are only lying to paying customers to squeeze an extra buck out of them. This wouldn't be a problem at all, and they probably would have gotten another 5 star rating, if they had just taken the time to fix their original mistakes. I did not have a good experience here. The front desk person was nice and helpful. However the product, workmanship, and follow up was absolutely horrendous! After finishing the tint, I got in the car and the rear window was screeched. I told the owner, and he told the guy that did it. He came over, and threw a tantrum and was extremely pissed off. Like it was my fault. I did feel uncomfortable at that point. He re-tinted the window, left all the cut off trash in my car, and handed me the keys. Not an apology, NOTHING! I went home to inspect the rest of the windows, and it's absolutely a horrible job. I'm adding pictures for proof. Go somewhere else for your tint people. Just not here. No complaints. It's only been 4 days since i got my car tinted but this place did a great job. I got there at 9am when they opened and they said it would be ready in 1 hour and half and i pulled out of there by by 10:40. The owner walked around my car and had the guy fix a small area on the back window too. The best part about this place is they use SunTek which is the same tint used at other high end places i called that were highly rated on yelp but they are by far the best deal. They are very reasonable. It's worth it to pay a little more for the carbon and lifetime warranty. They are located behind the Enterprise off S.Lamar. I happened to make the appointment on the first Saturday that they were open again due to Covid. Appointment time was 10 and they were not open then. They showed up late. The owner explained the tint choices to me and gave me a good deal on what I chose. Everyone that I spoke with was very nice and courteous. And they have a lifetime warranty so keep your paperwork!! Paid $280 for my car to be tinted. Almost all windows were ether peeling or had glue stuck in between the film and window. They offered to redo the tint which I did. The second time I went the job was even worse leaving glue and debris in the rear windshield. So I called for a refund and they denied my request saying they would redo it again but why would I trust them with my car for a third time. read more

Sadly I couldn't tell you if their quality of work is good or not because my car never moved an inch after I left it there. I assume their quality is just as bad as their efficiency. You can read the whole story but here's the ending: It took him a solid 2 minutes and 8 excuses to finally tell me sorry for the inconvenience. I hope they can learn to be more considerate of their customer's time. If you're willing to risk it, make an appointment. I called in the morning and spoke to Hector. He told me which groupon option to buy.He told me how much it'd cost for the removal as well. I asked if I needed to make an appointment, and he's saod, "sure you can but you can always just bring it by and it will be finished in two hours." Ok, I coordinate to have someone pick me up at the time of their convenience. I get to the shop at 2:45 and Hector repeats everything he told me on the phone but then asks, "are you going to leave it for the afternoon?" I was like, "uhhh, I thought it took 2 hours?" He said no because of the removal it would take all day. So I checked with my ride if that was ok.. if not I'd just come another day. My ride said ok so I left it. 5:30 rolls around and they call me to let me know it will be longer... "a little past 6." I'm thinking 30 minutes more, so sure. My ride had to drop me off at 6 because we had an important event to attend at 7. We arrive and my car had not been touched. I was thinking we'd get there and they'd be working on it so I'd just have to wait half an hour. NOPE. Nothing was done and Hector's first words to me were, "Oh, we're about to drive it to the back and work on it." WHAT! IT'S JUST GOING TO TAKE 30 MINUTES TO DO? I'm just assuming that's a bad tint job? What's frustrating to me is that when I got there Hector spoke to me in a very unapologetic way. I told him that he should have just told me he could not do it today. SERIOUSLY, save everybody the trouble of this whole unnecessary event. I have mixed feelings about this place. I think I would've had a 5-star experience if it weren't for my interaction with one of the employees. I'll start with the first phone call. I called to get a quote on the price of getting just one window tinted. I was looking for a particular tint, which apparently is hard to come by. The woman who took my call was helpful in answering my questions and seemed genuinely interested in taking care of me. Super. Next day, I dropped by to have one of the specialists look at the tinting on my other windows to see if they could match it. They could get it "close enough" Cool. Works for me. Better yet, they said they could take care of it in 45 minutes and I didn't even have an appointment. Also, guy working at the front counter who checked me in was really friendly and attentive. So far so good! Here's where things went downhill. I told the tint man (dk his name) I had an expired groupon for which I paid $84 (since it was expired, the promotional value of $200+ dollars was no good. This I understood.). It says clearly on the voucher and the groupon website that even though the promo value expired, the PAID value ($84) was still good at Tint Specialist. The tint man seemed angry and asked why I wouldn't just pay him $64 instead of using the groupon? I explained (again) why I wanted to use the voucher, as I already paid for it. He seemed to understand, then proceeded to mark my groupon as redeemed, and he went to work. I was a *little* annoyed that he was trying to pressure me into paying out-of-pocket when I had already technically paid for the service, but whatev. I brushed it off. When it came time to finish up and sign the work receipt, he again tried to get me to pay $80 out of pocket (which, by the way, was higher than the price he originally quoted to me). He proceeded to tell me how he was not going to get paid by groupon (not true, I verified with groupon) and he refused to listen to me when I offered to call groupon with him to verify that he was (or would be) reimbursed. Ultimately, he said "whatever, it was just two windows, I just won't get paid". That whole interaction was confusing and he was just downright rude. If I hadn't have done my homework before coming in, this dude would've backed me into a corner and forced me to pay out-of-pocket on top of the money I paid for the groupon. So, in a nutshell this super antagonistic guy cost Tint Specialist the three extra stars I would've given. Bummer. read more

I am so happy with my experience with Tint Specialists so far. I had the Groupon, but went in prepared to upgrade to the highest level and darker tint - still far less expensive than I expected. My kids and I were greeted by the friendliest woman (I would guess the owner) who explained all the options and helped me make a decision. Being a full-time mom, I planned ahead and made a lunch date with friends just up the road at Phil's Icehouse. The kids enjoyed the playground, burgers and ice cream while we waited. I couldn't say exactly how long it took because the car was ready long before we were! The tinting looks awesome! My husband thinks I went too dark on the back windows (I went with the darkest tint, what they described as "limo" privacy), but I love how dark and cool the car feels when you get in and it makes my ho-hum silver Camry look kinda pimped out :-). I'm very interested to see what a difference it makes as this summer really gets underway. The quality looks great so far. It has only been a couple days, but I have no doubts that if any bubbles or dings should show up the pros at Tint Specialists will take the best care of it. This place was a great deal. I was in a rush the day I was leaving for vacation, and thought it'd be a good idea to get my windows tinted so that they could bake in the sun untouched while I was gone a week. That way I wouldn't have to worry about not putting the windows down while driving the car. I dropped it off at lunch and they had it done by 3:00pm or so when I came by to pick it up. The tint looks great (I got 30% all around). They use SunTek, which has a lifetime warranty and is the same brand film that is used at Sun Tint. Sun Tint quoted me something like $70 more for the same film on my Mazda 3 4-door. For what? It carries a lifetime warranty either way, and Tint Specialists guaranty their work. I'll take the massive discount. I'd recommend this place to friends. read more

I got a groupon as a gift to get my tint done here and it was a flippin nightmare. I asked for the standard legal 25% film and was told the law was 35%.. I then showed the guy this: https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/vi/consumerinfo/windowTint.htm showing that its been 25% for a while now. So then he said they didn't have it and it would be more expensive.. Fine whatever give me 35%. I upgraded to the better tint with a lifetime warranty for an additional $60. When I got my car back there were a few expected bubbles in the tint which should usually go away after some time. I also had some papers in my car that were ripped and scattered throughout my car from them being inside it. Fine whatever. A week goes by and the tint had some time to cure so i take a look around and there were tint pieces missing and the cut was bad on some areas, showing non tinted window areas and there were tons of bubbles left. No worries I have a lifetime warranty. I give them a call and let them know / bring it in for them to look at it and a lady and the guy who I purchased the tint service from said some of it would need to be replaced and other parts would need to be fixed and I would have to schedule an appointment. Explained that I am only off sat and sun so i would need to come in on sat. The lady told me that sat isnt good for them because they are too busy. Eventually she said I could bring it in saturday but I would have to leave it the entire day. This was hard for me since this place was 15 miles from my home. few weeks go by and I get a day off of work during the week so i give them a call and tell them I can bring it by. They said I would need to call for an appointment for a later date so they can have some notice. Alright attempt 2 fails. few more weeks go by and my mom said she could take it for me on the 20th (of March 2015) which was a Friday. I had to explain to the guy again what needed to be fixed and replaced to remind him what we talked about before. Great so at the time it was Wed so I call them and we get an appointment for 10am. Friday March 20th comes around and and I get a text at 10:30am from my mom saying that they finished in about 10 minutes. I was LIVID. I waited weeks to get my car back in there / even came in that one time to look over what needed to be fixed. I called tint specialist and spoke with the guy and asked him what they fixed. He said they fixed some bubbles on the back window. 1. he knows what needed to be fixed because he was with me when i got the tint done and with me again when I came back for them to look at it and try and schedule an appointment to come back in and fix it. 2. they refused me several times because it would be a lengthy process and something that couldn't be done on saturdays because they were too busy. So at this point I am upset and yelling at this guy throwing a few cuss words at the situation not calling him any names but he tells me to stop cussing then hangs up on me. I call back and tell him to rip the bleeping tint off and give me my money back. He does proceed to remove the tint my mom says but then asks for the card for the refund. My mom had lost her card and had gotten a temporary replacement card and they said they couldnt refund it. (absolutely rediculous) eventually they agree on a check but mom later denies it for bouncing purposes so they put the refund on her new card. Please do not go to this place. The quality of the actual tint isn't very good and as you can see here they aren't ones for doing warranty work. read more

I've had our cars tinted at quite a few places over the years, but Tint Specialist is one of the best. I was a bit worried when I showed up early on Saturday morning, given that they had just turned someone away for not having an appointment, but they were able to hook me up. Anytime someone works on my Range Rover I am super picky, but they did such an amazing job on my wife's Mercedes, that I felt good about their work. Within just a few hours, they called me and let me know it was ready. They were quick, efficient, and it looked great. They explained to me what I needed to do for the upkeep, how my warranty worked, and sent me on my way. Its been about a month or so ,and its still holding up with no issues. My wife's car is a few years into it, and looks like it was just put on yesterday. If you do need work done quickly, or have more extensive work that needs to be done, be sure to call in and make an appointment. Don't cheap out either, I bought the top tier and you can tell the difference, especially in the middle of the summer. The ceramic coated tint is far superior to the rest, and you can tell it works when you don't burn yourself on your seats anymore. read more

Ok, so I'm ECSTATIC! that I finally got my tint done. My car is a good 10 degrees cooler. AMAZING! I went to TS based upon, well, you guessed it, Yelp reviews. Getting there is a little bit of an experience, you have to drive past a car rental shop, a body shop and past what looks like an impound gate. :) Guess we know it's secure. :) It did take a little while, well, from 11am to 3:30pm. I left my car there. No worries. Got back, checked it out, asked about other amenities, car alarm/ keyless entry (I have an older car). The lady was great, dealing with so many people at the same time, she got me prices, paid my bill and out the door. Tint looks great. Not purple. **Just make sure you tell her Carbon, and that she puts it on the work sheet**. I've only had the tint for a week or so, but it's great so far! Thank you! read more

$249 for top of the line tint! Pretty sweet if you ask me. They have all their options and prices listed on their website plus $20 off anything over $100. I was very happy. The lady greeted me very friendly, showed me the options and off they went. 1.5 hrs later the car was done, right on time as she had promised. Not even any bubbles like you might expect that take a few days to evaporate. Looked like a perfect product and installation. I also did some calling and emailing around and this place was by far the best priced. Other places were charging $299 for the med grade tint where this place charges $249 for top of the line. Its a tight little sqeeze to get in and out of the place (its behind the Enterprise car Rental place), so be prepared for a 10 point turn if you want to drive a big vehicle in there. read more

Groupon had a good deal, but the fine print didn't explain that the "standard" tint is for the lightest tint. Small up charge for little windows by the side view mirrors and larger upgrade to go to any other type tint. Standard tint only has 3 year warranty, others have lifetime. All in all, friendly staff, quick service and I'd use them again. read more
