Turns out the only thing wrong was that there was no refrigerant in the cooling system, so they did a EVAC ($187) & recharge ($75) and it worked fine - for a couple of hours. So I took it back and then they found a leak in the evaporator core - a major replacement item. While replacing that they felt compelled to also replace the ETR switch ($53) and expansion valve ($63) as precautionary measures plus ($30) shop supply (unspecified). They agreed to not charge me for the 2nd fill of refrigerant since what they initially installed leaked away so I'll give them a 2nd star for that. Bottom line: I paid $300 over what it took to fix what was actually broke; 2 stars seems about right.

After wating 2+ hours sitting at the Discount Tire in Bee Cave with no one even touching my car…read more(which was supposed to be completed in 90 minutes), I learned my lesson with these giant, private equity owned retailers that don't care about service firsthand! So I called the only locally owned tire shop I could find in the Lakeway area (Don Rucker) to repair my tire and it was the perfect experience. Just like Discount Tire, they told me to come in and, unlike Discount, they took care of it promptly with no high pressure sales for tires/wiper blades/TPMS rebuilds and I was on my way. It's not free like Discount, but it's definitely worth it! I'll certainly be back when I need anything else.

I walked in and asked "is Mike here today"? He responded "he is here today...just not right now". He had a smug attitude and at first I just thought he just wasn't good at being funny. Then when I took him out to show him what I needed and an issue I was having, he said I was doing something wrong. Again maybe I was but his smug attitude showed through again. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for an install of my toolbox that I was told would take 20 to 30 minutes I approached James and asked if everything was going okay with the install. The reason I asked is because the first tool box ordered didn't fit. He again had an attitude when telling me they were working on it. When told him that I only asked because of how long it was taking his reply was simply "ok" and he walked off to help someone else. Not a "I'm sorry" or we are doing this or that, just a dismissive "ok". If you can only treat your customers good and not all customers of your business then James should find another job. On the bright side, Mike is great, their products are great and their prices are great. Just make sure to ask for Mike when you go see them. If I had to deal with James anytime I came in I would choose another business. Update: I watched him deal with an elderly lady (after 2 hours...still there). He was dismissive to her as well. She became frustrated with how he was treating her as well. You could tell it in her voice. He may be a great installer but he really has no business in customer service. I am an executive in a retail company for 20 years now and if I saw any of my employees treat people this was I would make a change.

When the driver did arrive, he had minimal customer service skills and seemed to be disturbed by doing his job and I was somehow bothering him. I don't know, maybe he had a long day. I just expect a better attitude when paying a company $125 for a rather quick (15 mins.) service.

Then the driver swerved going into my lane. Caused me to fully slam my SUV brakes. Good thing I wasn't speeding. Car behind me almost hit me. I would not trust them to tow your car. Careless and disrespectful drivers. He could have really hurt someone today.
