The fantastic teachers at Austin Yoga Tree (AYT) are just the beginning! Kindness, compassion, and self-love are the foundation of AYT! Admittedly, my baby sister told me for years to try yoga. I tried classes at generic gyms but never got much out of them and thought I wasn't the "yoga type." When my life was in crisis (mentally, emotionally, and spiritually) I was led me to AYT. My adult daughter and I can't be happier there. Although we are, for the most part, total opposite personalities, we both like to be informed consumers who like to shop around for the best deal. When we found AYT, we agreed there would be no other place where we both feel comfortable and cared for. We did not hesitate to become members. Even my personal trainer at the gym, who works at a different yoga studio part time, said AYT is great and the teachers there will ensure I don't get hurt! :-) The variety of offerings is great. I attended 59 classes in my first 60 days! I've lost weight and gained spiritual healing and inner peace through my yoga practice at AYT, where there is always warm tea waiting for you and you are encouraged to make yourself at home and become part of a community! I have been taking classes at Austin Yoga Tree since February 2018 and I just love it. The instructors are very knowledgeable and caring. I see and feel the difference in my body - more toned arms and stronger core. Plus my fellow students are some of the nicest people. This is absolutely my favorite yoga studio I have ever been to and I've definitely tried a lot. I even drive 45 mins out of my way just to attend these classes because they are so much better then any other studios near me. All the classes are unique, but very good. I can't say more about the instructors, they are so welcoming and personal, no matter what level you are at with your practice, you feel very welcomed and accepted. You instantly can notice how knowledgeable the instructors are, especially Jonathan, his class was my favorite yoga class of all time, he's very personal and helpful. I tried the iyengar, wall, meditation and vinyasa. All were top notch. They are knowledgable, caring and super friendly. They encourage the community feel which we have been missing. I cannot say enough positive things about yoga tree and their team . They are warm ,welcoming and very friendly .i have suffered from occupational back pain for many years so I thought to try out this studio ,and the iyengar class with johnathan has helped alleviate it almost 95%!! I've been going approximately twice a week for 5 months . Johnathan is great in providing modifications for beginners and those with limited flexibility like myself . I'm a big fan of yoga tree, especially Jonathan's classes. I've never been one to like doing yoga, honestly. However Recently I tried a class through Fitmob and loved it and now I plan my whole workout schedule around taking the Iyengar or Hatha class here! The place is clean and just feels good. They have mats, blocks, blankets, straps etc you can use (at no extra charge). Jonathan focuses a lot on proper form and correcting you, which is great for a somewhat beginner like me. They also have tea available after class. All in all its a nice place and I recommend checking it out! I am looking forward to trying out other instructors as well. read more

I found Austin Yoga Tree in a desperate search to help with my anxiety and health. I started with the Yoga for Anxiety class, and have recently started attending two other classes. It has changed my life. The tools and techniques Jill teaches in the Yoga for Anxiety class, ACTUALLY help dealing with anxiety in the real world. Whether you have social anxiety, or PTSD fueled anxiety like me, her Yoga for Anxiety class is something you should look into. I would even recommend it to people without anxiety because it truly deepens your practice through breath work and can be useful for meditation practice too. Frankly, you just feel more calm about life in general after class! It's a wonderful way to unplug. Jill is so in tune and understanding of what people looking for solutions to help their anxiety need. I look forward to seeing her and taking her class each week. It's clear she has a great respect and devotion to yoga in general, but there's something extra special there that allows her to get on the level in her specialty classes. I have only taken one of Jonathan's classes, but it did not disappoint. He has a positive light about him, and guides the class well. He also seems more knowledgeable than other instructors I have had in the past at other studios. He cares and it shows. I am looking forward to going to his classes in the future. All in all, I have to say I am grateful I found Austin Yoga Tree. The people and the practice are the real deal. read more

I have practiced various types of yoga at many local studios for several years. I settled at Austin Yoga Tree as my yoga home about a year ago. Not only are ALL of the teachers of Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Kundalini, etc. knowledgeable, but they are also beautiful welcoming and giving souls committed to serving others through yoga. No matter a person's experience of yoga, chronic conditions, injuries, age, etc., the teachers here skillful provide instructions and/or accommodations to allow yoga to be ACCESSIBLE and BENEFICIAL for each individual. In addition to yoga, there are other mindfulness offerings for youth and adults from which my teenagers and I have all benefitted. At this studio, I am learning peace and self-love in my body and mind. OH!!! Another WONDERFUL aspect of this studio is the community of people who practice here! The studio draws people from a rich cultural, educational, professional, experiential, etc. spectrum. This place is wonderful. It is a small yoga FAMILY. I signed up for a month after not practicing in three years and have never once felt more welcome than I did here. The teachers are very patient and educational and make a point to get to know everyone on a first name basis. I would recommend trying all the different classes they offer. I signed up with the $1 unlimited yoga special for the first month just to try it out and see if it was a good fit. I'm loving the studio and the teachers, I've tried the restorative, Iyengar and meditation classes so far - all are great and I plan to continue with my membership.
