My first experience having a Thai massage and it's funny because my knee was hurting the last two days, once I left this massage, it was completely better. I asked for the masseuse to focus on my back and apply hard pressure and they definitely delivered. I felt comfortable and like I got my moneys worth for the service. I'm a massage therapist so I'm pretty picky, but they have been fabulous. We usually come in and get a 90 minute couples massage. They have a great setup for their beds! If you like traditional Thai massage they are really good here. They have the bars and they do the back walking if you want it. Everything can be customized to your needs. The prices are impossible to beat we pay $200 for 90 minutes couple massage. Such a great deal. We feel really blessed we moved in across the street and found this place. Drove by their location in old town and they had such great reviews and then I realized they had a more convenient location in northern Scottsdale. Stumbled upon this place a few nights ago when we were getting dessert next door. As busy as they are, I was lucky enough to get a walk-in appointment on a Saturday morning. I chose the Thai & Swedish with hot stone massage combo for 60 minutes with body walk. I know I have tight muscles all over and my masseuse Anna was able to address some of my deep knots. Have been twice to this establishment; the visits could not have been more different! The first was wonderful, with Pat as my therapist, she was a very effective therapist and listened to my needs. Second visit was a disaster! I was early as is my practice, and was called back to my massage room 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Once inside the treatment room, the receptionist told me I was to start my massage in this room, then half way though I was going to have to move to another room!? WTF...are you kidding me? Put all my clothes back on and move to another room? I said 'no' that I did not want to move in the middle of a massage, so they escorted me out and told me I would have to wait another 10 minutes,..OK, fine. Half an hour after my scheduled appointment I was finally directed to a room that I would NOT have to move in the middle of the massage. An older man was my therapist, which was a surprise as I had asked for female therapist. I agreed and he went to work. Holy smokes, literally THE most painful massage of my life! I had to ask him multiple times to be a bit more gentle, he just laughed. The massage also did not last the full hour. I left feeling injured and disappointed; but there was more to come. The next THREE DAYS I suffered from a 'crick' in my neck (where he had been especially vigorous even after my complaints) and a migraine to boot. Never in my life have I felt worse after a massage, and NEVER has a massage caused a migraine! So, I sent an email to the owner, describing my treatment and asking for a phone call to discuss. No phone call, no email, no communication. I went in the following week (of course I asked for Pat, and to NOT have to change rooms) and as I waited, the man and woman at the counter stared at me and whispered amongst themselves, making me very uncomfortable. I get massages regularly, and have for years, including Thai massage every few months. I've also been fortunate enough to have Thai massages in Thailand on business travels. So please hear me when I tell you this place is wow. Seriously, wow. First of all Randy is a lovely human being. He's kind and considerate and he clearly cares about his customers AND his staff. He was responsive to my inquiries, he was professional and courteous and very welcoming. Their facility is sparkling clean and very well organized. Our visit was smooth from start to finish. The two lovely massage therapists we had were kind, paid attention to every detail of our massages and were so professional. They set you at ease immediately, and check in with you on pressure and how you are (though you should ALWAYS communicate with your therapist if you are in any discomfort immediately). They are clearly VERY experienced. I have had thoughts that weigh more than my petite therapist did, and her strength and control was incredible. She was so respectful of me, and my desired pressure level. She is an amazing human. I highly encourage you adding back walking (it does not cost extra) to your massage if it is acceptable for your personal back health. I wasn't sure if it would be too much but it wasn't and was highly effective. It is definitely worth trying if you haven't. I don't know how we will go back to other massages after this (we may not) and this will definitely be my gift of choice to couples! If you're hesitant to check them out, don't be.
