Like every business these days, they don't have enough workers and in this case, behavioral "trainers" or "coaches" or some title for what they call the person coming out to work with my child. I've used them for about 2 years, on and off, and unfortunately, it's hard to find good special needs therapy organizations in Los Angeles. I have Anthem Blue Cross so I've used a couple other organizations but ALP tends to have better staff compared to others, but unfortunately, they tend not to stay for whatever reason, and we're stuck with another trainer, coach every 6-8 months. Although Dr. Gina Chang is listed as the president of ALP, she doesn't have any interaction with patients. Most interactions are with staff via phone or "trainers". The current one we have, Jennifer, has been great and I hope she stays with the company but she has been our 6th one in over 2 year period. read more

The initial process went well, but once we were supposed to start services, there was a concerning lack of communication, coordination, and consistency. Our first assigned BT never showed up. Then our next assigned BT showed up once and then never again. We messaged multiple people over the course of 3 weeks after our first session with the BT to find out what was happening and if anyone was going to show up again and nobody responded at all until we sent our final email informing them that we no longer wanted to pursue services with them. That one session went very well and there were no problems so i don't know why there was never any follow up. read more

ALP has been our first and worst experience with ABA therapy for my son. They have very unqualified BT's that do not what they are doing and are not patient or attentive with the children. They also take forever to answer your concerns. At first they tolled me they would give me updates every 6 months and they never did.I did a grevience with my insurance company and they completly lied about everything of course they dont want to loose clients or the insurance that pays them.Even our BCBA said that the company takes more than they can handle. I'm so frustrated with this company/vendor, i guess they only care about maximizing my son's approved hours from our insurance (25hrs) and wants us to use all of it! My son just only turned 4yo for god's sake! I've explained to clinical director that my son have school in the morning and speech therapy as well how in the world a child could have another 5 hours aba on the same day everyday for 5 days! When i tried to talk to the clinical director to change it to my preferred time which is 3 hrs/day for 5 days he suggested for me to look for another vendor, after all the process i've went through with them! Extremely POOR and Terrible ABA provider. We were provided with a very incompetent therapist who should not even be working in any agency for her lack of involvement and knowledge. The BCBA is pure lazy and hasn't been able to get a therapist for us for over a month. This is WORST ABA therapy provider . They just want your MONEY and dont care about providing any quality therapists. I wish there was a quality check for firms like these and possible actions against them. Easily the worst ABA experience we've had so far. This is not just an observation as a parent, but also my opinion as a medical practitioner. There is no communication or transparency. Generally the BIs are all very, very inexperienced and passive. Do not be surprised if they appear clueless and just sit there and stare the majority of the time. BCBA is absent and seems to just do the very bare minimum. They will blow you off and any concerns brought up will be met with a knee jerk response of parroting verbiage and meaningless buzz words without ever answering your questions or explaining anything. You will go in circles because they will not even bother to acknowledge the issues that are brought up. They just say a lot of things without any real substance. ALP only cares about ALP. Your children will be much better off anywhere else if you want any semblance of empathy or professionalism. From the top to bottom, there are no redeeming qualities to this company. We were so disappointed with them we terminated services early because we were tired of their indifference and incompetence. I honestly feel bad for any families that have services contracted with ALP, because in the long run, it is the children that end up suffering. read more

This is a horrible company. The people they hire have no experience and it shows. The Bt shows up whoever they want. Sometimes 2 hours late and nothing happens. They grab the kids, pick them up and block them in rooms which is not ok. They take personal calls during session which is unprofessional. They eat in your house, accuse you of drinking, and put stuff in your refrigerator without asking. Very unprofessional. I have been with Autism Learning Partners for a number of years and can honestly attest to the fact that they care more about their bottom line than they do about your child. If you care about the well-being of Child and want to know more, contact In response to ALP requesting that I contact the "Compliance Director," while I have no understanding who that is, I have spoken to the "Director" Jennifer, who confirmed ALP's position on this matter, regardless of the detrimental affect it has on the child. I was contacted by Dan Matas. The situation was not handled appropriately. I was never given a update on the situation and had to get others involved to get answers. This company at the corporate level is a complete disaster. They have no compassion for leaking information and never once apologized until I mentioned my disgust with them. There is a saying " The customer is always right!". None the less if I were in the wrong I would have owned up to it. In this case the company clearly isn't taking appropriate measures to make sure my information is safe, and that I am updated on the out come. It took almost a month to get a return phone call. High turn over of staff, therapists and supervisors resign and the office never calls to tell you. They just stop showing up. Also billing problems. When I pointed out thier errors, instead of reviewing my proof, I was threatened that if I didnt pay in 5 days services would stop. When I talked to my supervisor about it and she discussed it with the office, she told me that her hand was slapped for intervening. She resigned. Eventually thet agreed to the billing errors and stopped threatening me and even offered me $50 as an apology. I told them I didnt want thier money, I wanted communication without threats. I don't think they really care about their clients. They have poor communication skills (employees do not communicate with each other) and RBT's are not properly trained. I was assigned to one who constantly said that she was not properly trained and she did not have the resources to move forward with the goals. Our insurance approved 25 hours a week of ABA services and they only provided 3-12hours per week. ("They do not have RBT's available") Last couple months they completely stopped communicating with me and they never showed up to our scheduled sessions I never saw the clinical director and only spoke to her once when I told the office that I'm finally terminating the services with them. I would text a couple of times and she would respond when it was convenient for her. There was no urgency and consistency with this agency. So as a parent.. I DO NOT Recommend this agency. read more

I have been with ALP for over 4 years and this situation is just getting worse and worse no one listens and the office staff has no communication the staffing department is just staffing to staff not thinking about the importance to pair a good team. Honestly My BT and supervisor are both the best but I was lucky to have had them paired up with our family before it was sold. Before they became ALP, (Proof Positve,) they were great. However, once they became ALP, they sucked. They do not care about the kids, but rather how many hours they can shove down your throat for their own gain. To make it worse, I feel they discriminate against you and the insurance you have. If they are short staff, the shity insurance gets cut first. How is that putting a child's needs first? Then they make an excuse saying that the insurance you have requires specific thing they are short of, such as A BCBA. However, after doing some research, I discovered that all insurance companies require a BCBA. This was their way of covering up their discrimination. If you want results for your kiddos, stay away from ALP. We had them for four years and it caused nothing but stress and sadness. Now we have to start all over again. I am very disappointed in my experience with Proof Positive. In October 2016, it became evident that my high functioning autistic 13 year old needed help with impulse control and emotion regulation since hormones were starting to take over. We were advised from a social group that the best way to treat his behaviors was in home ABA. I looked high and low and Proof Positive had the best track record and success working with older kids. It took me 4 months for them to find time to actually have a case carrier come out and do an evaluation. While Mari was excellent and her report on point, the rest of our experience was awful. Mari's report was rushed through because my son was high risk to cause harm to himself or others. When I was approached by Veronica 2 MONTHS LATER I listed out all of our available times. We went round and round as most of you know with high functioning kids it's hard to have a set schedule as mainstream activities and school commitments often fluctuate. After weeks of going back and forth and Veronica passing me off to Alexis they said they couldn't work with us unless we had set days and times that were consistent. I get it and changed our world around to accommodate and gave them new times. Alexis assured me they would find a therapist asap. I waited and waited, heard nothing. Finally at THE END OF MAY I called to see what was going on (after repeated unreturned emails). I was told my case was closed and insurance notified because I couldn't provide a list of times that worked for them. Really? I had email trails to prove otherwise. I insisted at that time to speak to the supervisor. Brittany did call me quickly but what came out, was that Alexis left so my case was closed. Brittany assured me she would handle it and get us on the calendar as soon as possible. June came and went and my emails went unanswered. Finally in July I was told they were still trying to find a therapist that could fit into my available times - seriously? M-F 2-5, how tricky is that?! Still nothing. August arrived and I let them know we were going on vacation and I wanted to start fresh with the school year and gave them new times. Well here we are in October, 1 year later and I haven't heard anything. Meanwhile, my son has been in and out of the principals office, is suicidal and has had police intervention. Seriously Proof Positive, get off your xxx and see that these are families that need your help and people's lives are at stake. Whatever personnel issues you have, I suggest you fix them so that a child's life isn't taken prematurely because you couldn't fit them into your schedule. Needless to say, I am going in a different direction and completely given up hope you have any interest in our case and our business. read more

As an SLP working in the schools, Proof Positive's students are less prepared than students who have had other agencies in the Orange County area. Supervisors from Proof Positive like to "advocate" for their families without understanding the assessments and reports. Its been over 4 weeks since Proof Positive picked up our case. I first spoke to their coordinator Veronica and she informed me they would be putting a team together for my son shortly and sending someone over by the next week. So, I suspended therapy with his old ABA therapy provider. I have called and left messages for them at least four times, and no one has gotten back to me since I first spoke to them 4 weeks ago. The coordinator Veronica always seems to be mysteriously out of the office when I call. My son has been suffering greatly without the extra support of ABA therapy. In the past month he has been sent home several times and has almost been suspended from school. All his behaviours have escalated, since the absence of ABA therapy. For a company that claims to care for their clients, I have found proof positive to be unprofessional and even harmful to my child. If they didn't have the staff to provide services for my son, they should not have picked up his case. I do not recommend this company at all. read more

Was with them for a year ONLY because our BI was amazing and my son adored him. BUT the agency as a whole is a disaster... No training, my sons BI has life experience ( raised his sister on the spectrum) so he understood ASD but they tried several times to send us teenagers fresh out of HS with 2 weeks training under thier belt... They are unable to keep staff, the turnaround time is so swift you may as well leave your front-door open and not bother to put team members contact info in your phone, you won't need it for but a month.... they served under a different name at one point perhaps they had such a bad rep that they name changed. we literally went months without a program manager or BCBC :( my sons therapist and I were using youtube for program ideas and techniques. Total medical malpractice. I know that there is a high turnaround for all ABA agencies, but thats usually because staff promotes "not runs away". They will promise staff massive hours and than not give them enough to pay their bills which makes for unhappy therapists. I can honestly say I have Heard so many heartbreaking situations from staff and families about this agency that I am deeply concerned that so many kiddo's will loose out on quality ABA (its out there) Our kiddos learning curve is short don't waste your kiddos valuable time on junk ABA... EFFECT, ACES, BRIDGES, even COYNe are a little better since they at best train the kids they send to your home. My 11 year old daughter could run programs better than the BT;s they tried to send into my non verbals sons life. No Thanks.... I've been with them for 2 years and they took my daughter who throws tantrums that are very violent (kicking walls in, hitting us, throwing things, breaking glass) to a girl that hardly throws tantrums. She has learned to calm down on her own and is understanding where she needs to go. The team I have is unbelievable. They are very professional and have many years in the business. Chrislyn is my supervisor and is skilled and effective. RyAnne is one of my therapists that makes the magic happen when my daughter goes off. Granted my daughter is bigger then her but she knows what to do. Tiffany is my parent consultant that teaches me what I'm doing wrong and what to do to work better to make situations not happen. ABA is absolutely necessary therapy for children on the spectrum. My daughter's diagnosis at age 5 was a shock and I felt totally lost in how to proceed. Her neurologist made some suggestions and we came upon Proof Positive. From the beginning, we received nothing but professionalism and support from the team. My daughter was thoroughly evaluated and allocated a strong therapy schedule. After an extinction burst in the first couple of weeks of therapy, my daughter turned a corner and made intense strides toward positive behavior. Crystal, our therapist, has been a Godsend. She is compassionate, caring and dedicated to my daughter's progress. Crystal has been outstanding in working with my daughter in all settings both in and out of the home and my daughter is thriving. Crystal is extremely knowledgeable and goes out of her way to work with me in understanding and incorporating ABA strategies across the board. In fact, Crystal is so good that now, after 18 months, we are transitioning to working with a second therapist in order to generalize my daughter's behaviors. In the few sessions we have had so far, Caitie has shown the same care and dedication to my daughter's progress.
