I was greeted with a friendly smile and a kind question... what can I help you with from Sandra at the counter in the Business Department. I was then connected with Brandon, one of your Business Representatives. He already had my file ready and knew exactly what he needed to do next to get me taken care of quickly; in which he did! He was very customer focused; very kind; very good listener and answered every one of my questions. He was very detailed as he was taking me through the forms to sign. He confirmed that I made the right decision coming there and he really made me feel like a part of the Carmax family; even though, that was my first time ever visiting this location. The entire process was very smooth and very quick; which made my experience at this location, a very awesome one!!! I would definitely recommend family and friends to this Carmax location on Anderson Boulevard, Ft. Worth for any of their car needs!

Unfortunately Carmax cancelled the reservation three times. Each time I had to call to have the reservation reinstated. Today, my sister-in-law drive from OKC to Fort Worth to see the car. I drove from Sugar Land Texas. Before Arriving at Carmax, I telephoned to advise I would be paying cash by wire transfer from my bank. After arriving at Carmax at 11:30 am today, my sister-in-law did a test drive and was ready to conclude the purchase. After a one hour wait, we were advised Carmax would not release the car if we paid my wire transfer. At 2:00 pm I arranged for my bank in Houston to issue a cashier's check at their Fort Worth branch. We were advised the local branch would be closing at 3:00 pm today. We returned to Carmax at 2:30 pm and handed them the cashier's check. They spent the next 20 minutes trying validate the check drawn on Merrill Lynch! Finally at 3:51 pm we were allowed to take delivery of the car. Only a 4 hour wait. This was my third purchase from Carmax and unfortunately my last.

For example, one of the other car dealerships prevented us from taking the car to an independent mechanic! You know they were hiding something with the car. Anyway, not only did Texas Cars Direct let us take the car to an independent mechanic, they were professional, not pushy like some of the other guys we dealt with, and easy to do business with. Mike, it was a pleasure doing business with you. Thank you for selling us the newest car in our company fleet! P.S. If you come across a clean, unmolested 1990 to 1993 Mustang convertible, give me a call!

What followed was 33 days of "we can't pay you until the title arrives" -- even though my lender confirmed in writing on 7/30 that the loan was paid in full. I'm an Army veteran and I handled this the right way: calls, patience, follow-ups, numerous conversations with their manager Mike. The day I said I'd had enough, his position was still that I could go to the DMV myself or wait another three weeks. Dismissive from start to finish. On 8/27 I showed up in person with the lender's paid-in-full letter. Only then did they hand over my check -- dated 7/27, two days after the sale. It existed nearly the whole time they were telling me they couldn't pay. The car had already been resold. (Keep-or-cut sentence:) Nothing in the bill of sale I signed conditions payment on the title. If you sell them your car, demand a payment date in writing. Every date above is documented.
