I purchased a Ford F250 from TexasCarsDirect back in September. I flew in from Chicago to pick up the truck. Upon arriving and meeting with David Urby, I took the truck for a test drive. There was some minor issues but the most glaring was the check engine light. David said the issues would be taken care of, go to lunch and come back in a couple of hours. He called me and said they needed a part that would not be there until Monday. David paid for my flight home and said the truck would be shipped to me. I received the truck late the next week. When driving from where I received the truck, the check engine light came on. I notified him of this issue and he said to have it fixed locally and he would reimburse me. It has been several months and many texts and calls and still no reimbursement. Up until this point, David lived up to his word but I am extremely disappointed to have to write a partial negative review due to not receiving this promised reimbursement. In addition, the check engine issue took two times to resolve, the second requiring an additional cost which I decided to absorb thinking I would get the promised reimbursement. Great Place. Their website is excellent. I was able to shop online and pick out the perfect vehicle for my needs - an extremely clean 2013 Mercedes ML 550. My wife and I made the trip from Springtown to Dallas on a drizzley evening. We had texted the sales person (John) that we were coming and were interested in the ML 550. When we arrived at the very clean and professional office we were immediately met by John. While he went to pull around the ML 550 we admired the 70's Ferarri and Datsun 240Z in the lobby. Very cool old cars. In college I had dreamt about owning a Datsun convertible. Within a few minutes we were test driving the ML. It was a really good and amazingly clean 11 year old car. It felt like it was only two or three years old. Upon returning to the office John showed us the CarFax and gave us some details on the car. Within 10 minutes we had put 20% down on the car and signed (in just one place) an agreement to purchase the car. We returned the next morning with a cashier's check. Within 20 minutes we were out the door and on our way to breakfast. When I got home I noticed that the car had a third party Apple Carplay installed but I had no idea how to link to it. I called up John at Texas Cars Direct and he informed me he would go ask his reconditioner expert. Within 15 min he called back with instructions and now I have my phone working with Carplay on a 2013 Mercedes screen (Apple Carplay wasn't widely available on Mercedes until the 2018 model year). DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I highly advise against purchasing a vehicle from Texas Cars Direct. Within just 90 days of owning my car, I have to replace the turbocharger, battery, brakes, struts, and have the alignment corrected--issues that should have been addressed and fixed before the sale. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed squeaking from the brakes and took my car to BMW, that's where I was informed about all the issues. I took it to get a second opinion and was told the exact same thing, so I returned to Texas Cars Direct to speak with Kyle, asking why these issues weren't identified during the pre-purchase inspection. He admitted that they no longer conduct thorough inspections as they had in the past. When I requested assistance, given that the problems were pre-existing and that I had just made my first payment on the car I was still told no. The customer service was unhelpful, sketchy and I'm now left with a car that I'm deeply upside down on financially, facing over $10,000 in repair costs. I bought a used mercedes from these guys and noticed on the test drive that the back right tire was a little low. i returned the car to the guys then the next day went ahead and bought it. I thought that the low tire was just a bad tire so i went to discount tire where they said that the wheel had been welded or cracked and then welded so it needs to be rewelded or better yet replaced. I brought this to the attention of Jonathon who took my car back and gave me a car to drive while they see about repairing it which is great in my opinion. So they say they fix it then i drive it and it happens again. I take it back 2 more times and it is still not fixed or replaced. I put in a request to purchase a vehicle and filled out the capital one credit app (gave my social security number, date of birth, etc) via the Texas cars direct website and was contact by Adam Wolkowitz the following morning. I asked to come in between 4:30-5pm to fill out paperwork, take a quick drive to make sure the vehicle was sound, and finalize the purchase. My wife and I both took time off of work and drove over an hour to be told that "the vehicle was sold earlier today, and we have been busy all day". After filling out a capital one application, being asked social security numbers, and taking time off of work, we weren't given the respect to be told that the vehicle was sold. Who runs a business this way? The icing on the cake - when my wife and I were told the car was sold, a salesman told us "we have another car that fits your profile, it's only 6 years older and much cheaper" typical bait and switch. Both my husband and I found ourselves in need of new cars as he was in an accident on 8/28/24 and my car broke down on 9/11/24. Buying his car was a typical several hour experience with the salesman THEN the finance guy and the manager. It went ok and his car is great. But comparing the two experiences was night and day! I called TCD and talked with Brandon about the used car I saw online. He was friendly and kind and let me know the car was available. We headed over to TCD and arrived at 5pm. He verified what car we were interested in and immediately brought it around for a test drive. When we got back, he had already started our paperwork. I bought a sedan here almost 3 years ago and they suggested a great mechanic and an extended warranty. My maintenance cost have been reasonable to date (when dealer maintenance costs are outrageous). They provide free Carfax and Autocheck on any Car, Suv, or Truck they sell, via their website at texascarsdirect.com (be sure to check the average miles per year). It may take getting use to, but sales people don't hound you to buy a car. You approach them when you're ready. Be sure to ask for their spec and price sheet. I met a few out of town buyers in the car lot, who are repeat customers and are also addicted to their website. lol. Note hours are 9am - 6pm M-F and they're closed on weekends. A friend just purchased a used convertible here yesterday at a great price point and the team was exactly as I had described them, no pressure tactics and professional. I would think twice before buying from this dealership. when I bought my car they lied to my face when I asked if anything was majorly wrong with the car they told me no, I found out it had been previously in 2 accidents. so the information they put on cargurus was false. They lied on the website as well. When I asked Kyle his answer was he doesn't know everything about every car. That is their job to know. Then I get an email saying they will buy my car (which they send to anyone and everyone) so I filled out the information I get a quote back, someone reaches out via text one of the text asked "Did we sell you this car?" I told them ye, their response "we no longer want to buy your car". I wonder why? because they know what a piece of crap car they sold under fraud informatio. Worst place my husband and I ever had to deal with, I get they don't haggle even though we tried but these guys have zero interest in selling cars. We went in on 5:30 pm one evening, we knew they closed at 6 but we saw exactly what we wanted online and just wanted to see it. The guys were so unhelpful and almost annoyed we came at 5:30 pm. So we returned the next day and decided to give them a second chance, the reception was the same but we decided we wanted the car and we could deal with the bad manners. After the test drive, we told them we'd take the car and asked if they would at least fill it with gas, they also refused to do this as they said it was a fire hazard to have cars with full tanks of gas in the shop. We were buying the car and leaving the shop, how was this a fire hazard! I've never bought a car where they didn't at least fill it with gas for us. We were asked if it was credit or were we writing a cheque. We told them we would write a cheque. Paper work was finished and we handed over our cheque to be told it had to be a cashiers check and there was a bank around the corner. The problem was the bank was closed, so the guy called the bank to see if we could pay for the car, now here is where it gets completely unprofessional. The guy asked for my husbands last four digits of his social, he proceeded to call the bank pretending to be my husband and started to listen to our bank detail. I have never in my life been with such an unprofessional bunch of people. We bought a car the next day from a different dealer and this dealer was amazing. Sad that these people let us walk out the door and declined a $60,000 sale. read more

My wife and I drove a hour to look at a SUV they had on the lot. My wife was excited after seeing it. We go in and talk to a salesman who was going to let us test drive the vehicle. They get a copy of my driver license and writes down our credit score on a piece of paper. He then ask if we wanted to use their finance department. I told him "no, we have a pre approval letter with Bank of America with great APR". He continued to try and get me to agree to use their finance department. He mentioned Capital One which we already checked with since we do business with Capital One and they had a higher rate than Bank of America. We were ready to purchase the vehicle but the guy insisted we talk to his "financial guy". The finance guy seemed arrogant and told me that BOA won't do business with them because they aren't on their (BOA) preferred list. Bank of America stated that if they (dealership) weren't on their list they could still finance the car but there was a extra step. The "finance guy" with his 50 computer screens didn't want to hear it so I asked for the paper they had copied my license on. He jumped up and ripped the paper out of the salesman hands and said we'll shred it. The sales guy seemed to want to help us but after seeing that I chuckled and my wife and I left. Definitely a strange experience!! Also the photos on Yelp must have been at a different location because none of the people posted are there anymore except one but their pride and joy the G wagon was there. Just wanted to share my experience and I wish I had video of the experience because it was definitely unusual in my opinion. Found car on Cargurus, and began due diligence on the suv from SC. Began with Mike and found the emails/texts spotty at best (some answers in hours/others took days), I did put a 1k deposit on it which is a great option and he worked well with me on this process. The car was in their recon shop ..FYI that can take 2-3 weeks...I was informed of this while on site, that can add real additional time to your purchase process. Dont want to hammer him too hard as I found out on site was having some family med issues.. I flew into DAL on a sunday nite, was at TCD, to take vehicle for PPI (Pre purch insp), found it had active oil leak, substandard paint repair on one door, and TPMS light on. Returned to TCD, requested oil leak fixed (it had been taken to chain oil change place and they had damaged the oil filter bracket, and I was about to drive 1k miles home), TPMS light was corrected, and I was given a "we owe" an agreed amount of money to have the door repainted upon return to SC. So far so good, now the oil leak repair took almost five hours, which put me in the middle of Dallas rush hr traffic for my ten hr drive. (So if you flying in from out of town add extra time) I did speak directly with Dewayne (GM), and expressed my frustration with the whole transaction....the purchase/pick up process took much longer than needed and certainly was rough having bought loads of cars in my time. Dewayne did listen and agreed that had dropped the ball in several places during the transaction, and I did receive small compensation for the inconvenience. Last but not least, be advised even with producing (as requested by dealership) certified/bank/cashiers check it can take up to 30 days to get your title, in my past experience I have collected them on site or received in days. I did take again with Dewayne and my title was expedited, but just make sure you built that into your timetable. The Volvo was a smooth traveler even thru IDA, just wish the transaction could have been as smooth. read more

I contacted Texas Cars Direct, via email, on Monday about a vehicle I found on cars.com. I read yelp reviews about them and was looking forward to hearing back. I did get a quick reply from Adam letting me know that the vehicle was already sold. I was disappointed that he didn't try to get my business by asking what i'm looking for or a simple statement "we get new cars in daily, I would be happy to find you your new car" - the standard line. I went ahead and replied back with what we are looking for, asking him to let me know if they come across any thing. I still haven't heard back. I just expected a little more, because the reviews were so great - even naming Adam. If they have the car we want, I would definitely like to give them my business - but I would hope to receive the 5-star service that i've been reading about. read more

I have a vice for high-end cars, so I like to buy them a year or less old with very few miles, so I can let someone else take that first depreciation hit. I bought a 2014 E63 AMG from TexasCarsDirect sight unseen from Colorado. Their price was the best on the internet, which actually made me nervous (I don't go for the cheapest, usually means something is wrong with it). But after talking to DeWayne, who was very upfront, we negotiated a deal on my trade, and did the transaction without either of us seeing the other car. My AMG arrived and was dirty from the trip, but after a wash the car was exactly as he described....maybe even nicer. I clearly can't say this will happen with other cars from them, but the first time I ran the engine hard (577 HP......oooh), the engine had that new-engine smell like it had barely been driven. It was like a brand new car....for about $40K less. They were pleased with the condition of my 2012 E class I sent back to them as well. Again, this entire transaction was based on trust both ways, something that rarely happens, especially with cars. I did the deal because of the many, many 5-star reviews, so I wanted to add to them. If you are busy like me and trying to find a special car, you can buy from these guys without even seeing it. Ask for Dewayne, and tell him about the guy in CO who bought the AMG, he might remember. I categorically recommend these guys, and no, I have no affiliation with them. NOTE: I have another review on Yelp for Mercedes Benz of Denver. I still highly recommend them too; they just didn't have, and couldn't find this particular car for me. It's kind of rare to find used with all the stuff I wanted on it. read more

I filled out the required information on their web site about my car that I was trying to sell to them. The system TWICE changed the mileage on my car that I had filled in after I'd gone on to the next page. I caught it the first time, but not the second. I drove 2 hours to sell them my car because I got this certain quote for my car. When I got there, I realized the quote had been given for mileage much lower than mine actually had (making the price seem $2,500 higher than it should have been.) They presented me with a check for the ACTUAL mileage that I had entered twice--which was much lower. When I told them to void the check that I changed my mind, the salesman told me that he "damn sure wasn't in need of money." TCD is very easy to do business with. They don't give you any of the used car bull shit you get at most dealerships. If you are serious about buying a car, they will sell you one at a fair price. If you just want to look around that's ok too. They don't seem too much into the haggling game so if that turns you on, I guess you will just have to find that particular salesman that will engage you in such shenanagans. As for us, we were ready to buy, don't have time to waste and so we picked the car, made the deal and TCD helped us get an unbelievable interest rate that made it impossible to walk away from the deal. He was amazing and was always there for any questions we had. We showed up right before closing on a Friday to look at 2 vehicles I had seen online.
