I took it in to a place AAA recommended in downtown LA and explain the issue. They told me I needed a new timing chain along with a whole bunch of other stuff and quotes me $4800 for it. This was preceded with a lot of scare tactics on what will happen if I don't have the work done, which came across as very used car salesman-ish. When I ran the quote through ChatGPT I was told they were charging me dealership pricing for an independent mechanic for that type of work in LA. So I brought the truck here to Speedway where I had Minor worked done before and had a good experience. They told me my bearings need to be replaced and did the work for lesson than a quarter of the price I was quoted at the other mechanic. Work was finished in a day and the truck has been running perfectly since then. Had I spent to 4800 at the place it wouldn't have even resolved the issue, which means I would've had to come out of the pocket even more after the initial work was done. Obviously a truck of this age is gonna have some problems and when they inevitably happen again I will be back here at Speedway to take care of them. Highly recommend this place for integrity, quality, efficiency and fair pricing.

They have a really nice waiting area with seating + strong AC (it was a hot summer day in LA), I was really impressed. I trust my car with him…read moreand it went from getting brakes and rotors to my car to him fixing an issue I have had for YEARS and it was completely gone after Eddie took care of it. My Honda civic 2015 always had a weird acceleration jump each time I would hit the gas pedal. Mechanics over the years said some ridiculous things as to what was causing it but I never believed them. This issue was going on for years and I finally just accepted that my car was funny. However once my brakes were done, Edie saw that I had a sliced air intake hose and changed it and wala! My issue was no longer a problem! My car runs so smooth and no more jumping. Eddie is the most honorable mechanic. His staff is great and he does not charge so much like other mechanics do. I'm a female and the other female that said he overcharges females is not even true. If you don't like the price quotes then go somewhere else and good luck.
