Time to update my review... I've been coming to Autochek every two years for as long as I can remember. I rolled in yesterday around 4:30 and was shocked to have an open bay. Kim greeted me warmly and said it had been busy all day and it must be my lucky day. He quickly got my info and pulled my car in. Before I knew it, he called out that my check was done! I paid and thanked the team. My car battery randomly died and Kim grabbed a jumper machine and got me on my way. He has such good energy. Whoever manages this location, please retain Kim! Really disappointed as my whole family has been coming here for all our smogs for over 2 decades and the way I was treated yesterday was not ok. First Luis gives me a hard time about my late registration, which is not his place to comment on and my car was being worked on and had issues for months. I just spent thousands fixing my car so it would pass the smog test. It's only been worked on by one of the best Mustang experts in the county. I keep my OBD scanner plugged in my car and there's no sign there or any way I was to know that I shouldn't have had it plugged in to the only port for my car. What really upsets me though is Luis claimed I had done a reset a few minutes before bringing my car in! Which I was confused by. Today I looked at my OBD scanner and logs history and the last reset was in 09/04/2025! It apparently ran a scan that day but not a reset. Mind you, not once was my OBD scanner mentioned at all. Nothing is showing it to have been unplugged and plugged back in, so I'm curious as to how he did a scan on my car with his OBD? He told me I needed to complete the drive cycle which it had already been multiple times. If I hadn't researched having it plugged it at a smog, then I would have brought my car for a retest and failed again and wasted money! Now I have to wait at least a couple weeks to have a retest when I need to register my car asap to prevent fines. read more

Had a very recent recall repair at BMW where my car's DTCs had to be cleared causing my emissions test to fail. I wasn't aware that this could cause a failure and BMW didn't bother telling me that this was a possibility. After the failed first test, Kim the technician kindly and thoroughly explained to me what I needed to do in order to drive the car sufficiently enough to gain back its OBD readiness and at that point, I simply needed to return for a free re-test. I did exactly what he instructed me to do and returned this morning where my car passed without issue. I grabbed lunch at Chili's across the way and decided to bring in my whip for a past due smog check. I pulled up and within three minutes a tech came by and asked to see my DMV notice. I handed over the notice, he asked me to sign the estimate and asked me to exit the vehicle. As I exited the vehicle, the tech explained that it would be no more than 20 minutes. I sat down and waited for no more than six minutes when a fellow customer next to me pointed to the tech. He was done! Whoa! As I walked to the cashier, I checked in on yelp for a small discount. The cashier was friendly and courteous. I ended up getting the tags and registration for a small fee, which I think was a fantastic value. read more

Horrible service. My vehicle went to the state referee, passed with no problems. I bring the same vehicle here, (4 months after it passed with the state referee) and the tech had the car for 30 minutes, constantly going back and forth between the hood and computer. He then waves me over to tell me it's going to fail because there's a hose that looks brittle, and he needs more time to inspect because there will be something else that can fail. I explained to him that this truck has gone to the state referee and it passed with flying colors. He didn't seem to understand. I then take my vehicle to another smog check down the road (within the same hour) and what do you know, it passes with no issues. read more

Wasted 45 minutes in line to have the guy say he wouldn't smog it because I had an "aftermarket intake boot". The intake boot is identical to the original in every way except it is made of silicone instead of rubber so it will last longer. I tried to explain that to him but he gave me more nonsense about needing an EO sticker. Those are for aftermarket parts that are functionally different than the original parts.
