This smog check place is clean and efficient. Conveniently located on Inglewood, this place had no wait on a Friday morning. There are 2 wait stations. The smog check including certificate directly sent to the DMV was $60 with a free retake within 14 days if you don't pass. Miquel was very engaging while you wait and made conversation. Registration renewal is due on 1/2/2024 along with my smog check so of course I waited last minute lol but given I had work and had to wait for my 2nd pay check to hit so I googled a smog check center asap once I got to my boyfriend's house so he could go with me, I googled this spot and called since they were 4 minutes away from my boyfriend's and set to close in 10 minutes, I was a bit stressed lol so I called and thankfully Miguel said he could take my car in for a smog check and I was SUPER grateful! Miguel is the man and a dope person for taking my car in as the last service for his day. Super quick service and efficient service! The service rep offered me some water while I needed to get an emissions test done. There wasn't a wait and took about 15 minutes so I was in and out pretty quick. You can also get $5 off by checking in on Yelp too. There are a lot of cars in this area getting work done too so parking can be a little bit difficult. Luckily, I was able to get parking right in front. read more

I have NEVER been to any car related business (other than the Honda dealer) where cleanliness and customer service was literally a part of the business model. 1. I was greeted immediately 2. Offered a clean area to sit in 3. Given the exact price as displayed on the store sign 4. In and out in about 45 minutes (would have been faster but there was a bried power outage **To top it off one of the workers/owners checked my tire pressure AND put air in my tire! This was literally done as a kindness after I asked them about the tire pressure light. I dont know when the California DMV will make me get a smog check again but if you need a place to get yours done COME HERE!! THEY ARE SUPERB!!! read more

Great place! I had a hard time getting my car to pass the smog check due to the catalytic converter not being complete despite my best effort to drive the car around for miles however when I came here Ali really helped me out! He told me to get a product called Cataclean to clean out the converter and then to drive the car a specific way for the drive cycle to be completed. Thankfully after taking these steps I went back and they were kind enough to do a pre-test for me and told me my car would pass and it did! Thank you so much! read more

It is that time again to renew car registration and obtain a smog check. I asked Yelp what is the top 10 Smog Centers in my area. Yelp brought me to American Smog Check Center in Hawthorne. Great service, really appreciate professionalism and easy process with the tech Pablo. Today I called in at 3 :30 pm to bring in my 2014 Dodge Durango to a Star certified smog station. Found them on Yelp by the great reviews. Called it in, asked if they can take me in today within a short notice, the tech said bring it in . As soon as I got there Pablo helped me right away, even though he was busy finishing off another car had to wait 5 min tops which was excellent ( especially since I had my 7 year old son with me ). He was very helpful , friendly made it an easy process , in and out within 30 min. Really appreciate the fast service. Thanks once again. Will be back in the future. read more

Getting my car smogged doesn't rank as one of my favorite things to do but it must be done and American Smog Check Center made it as painless as possible. The gentleman who helped me (presumably the owner) was very polite, friendly, and got me in and out of the shop in less than 10 minutes! I decided I needed to modify my appointment, there didn't seem to be an option to do it on the website, so I texted the number back and asked to change my appointment, this was done quickly without issues. I arrived to my appointment 10 mins early. Dru was very helpful, friendly and professional. He entered my car's info into the system, and once my car passed the smog check, everything was updated and entered into the system already so that when I pay my registration, the DMV (or in my case, AAA) will see that my car passed the smog test. In case the system isn't updated, I was provided with a hard copy certificate to prove that it passed. My entire appointment took 10mins altogether, can't beat that! Pricing was fair and affordable, depends on the year of your car. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a quick smog check station.
