Don't waste your time or money coming here anymore. I always got my car smogged here and passed with no issue whatsoever. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Went in last month and saw it was a different guy doing the smog tests. I told him I've been going there for years, first thing he said was, "well, they've been doing the tests wrong here for years" I should've left as soon as he said that, cause who would say that about a place we worked at?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He continued to do the test and at the very end, he told me that MY ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE TOYOTA CATALYTIC CONVERTORS FROM 1997 WERE NOT ORIGINAL AND COULD NOT PASS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE A CA SERIAL NUMBER! Brother, they didn't have stupid numbers back then other than a batch number. I told him it was the original cat, and he said I was wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He then proceeded to call his manager I assume? Because clearly he wasn't knowledgeable enough, and told his manager that everything was fine and everything else passed really well for a 1997 vehicle but he couldn't find a number on the cat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told him that I've literally taken it there every single time with nothing changed and no issues. I told him that I wanted the other guy to do it when he was there. He said, "he won't be able to because only I know how to do the older vehicles that require the dyno" Like wtf?? Then why are you asking someone who doesn't know how to do smog tests questions about how to do smog tests? He then said he couldn't pass it but he'd give me a discount at only charge me $80 and to go buy and install an aftermarket cat and go back to pass it and I'd only pay the $10 difference.... Brother what?? You want me to get rid of the original factory cat and install a stupid aftermarket one that fails every year?? I never went back, stole $80 from me. I ended up going to a different spot that told me he should've passed me because my car passed with flying colors and that this shop doesn't know what they were talking about. read more

Bought a Groupon for Dan's Smog Test and could not be happier. The test took a total of 10 minutes. It was super quick and the father/son were really nice and friendly. They have seats for you to sit in and being a young, blonde girl in a mechanic shop, I felt super comfortable. I brought my dog with me and they didn't have any problems with him being there. The only downside is they charge you for the smog check certification that they submit to the DMV for you. This makese me think this place isn't any cheaper than other places.
