I had my car smogged here last month. Juan, the owner is so kind and fast.He was very courteous and fun to be around. He made me feel at ease. Juan also suggested that I drive down to AAA to get my registration that day. It was so great that he told me to do that. I'm new to the area and had no idea you could do that. It's easy to miss as you drive by as it is located between the car wash and ET surf shop. I called a day before to inquire. I got my car smog checked the next day. I really like the appointment system .. you book, come in for 15-20mins. The owner is fast, friendly, helpful with some tips like taking the smog check registration to nearby AAA rather than wait 3 weeks from mailing. He even checked the tire pressure to troubleshoot as I had a sensor light on. Very helpful. Would come back again and highly recommend this business. read more

Easy, quick and excellent service. I always use this business for smogs. The friendliest man runs the shop and I would recommend making an appointment. He honors your time and is so fast. It was easy to reach him through Yelp for the appointment same day. The smog certificate is electronically sent to the DMV. Fair pricing! read more

Only took 25 minutes and the man who did my smog was extremely kind. This was without an appointment at 4pm, so I was very impressed by the quick service. Not only was it cheaper here than the other local smog places, he only charges if you pass- there is no charge if you fail the smog test. They were quick to reply to my messages through Yelp about pricing and I even got a discount for paying with cash instead of card. read more

This place is GREAT. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Talked the guy's ear off with questions about tricks to get your car to pass with fuel additives, best gas to use, check engine lights, etc. Cool dude. They have complimentary coffee, sodas, bottled water, and a car wash so the price was more than competitive. And they're the only place I could find open on Sunday. Was in and out in 20 minutes with no appointment and 10 of those minutes was just me asking questions. read more

Best place to get your smog done. Fernando was extremely nice and informative. Easy and quick process. I had an appointment somewhere else but I arrived 10 mins late and the mechanic was so rude about it so I just left and found this place that accommodated me immediately although he had a wait of 2 cars in front of me. I'll be coming here on my next smog. read more

Reasonably priced for the Beach Cities and reliable. Almost no parking so call for an appointment and arrive on time. Owner/operator is friendly and kind and pretty fast- less than 30 minutes for the process, including his sending in your certificate to state online. read more

Perfect experience! Carlos was super friendly, needed the Star level smog check. In and out took 20 mins. Shopped at Trader Joe's across the street while he ran the check. So getting my car smogged was a grocery store run! Highly recommended! read more

Very easy to get an appointment for the next day. When I arrived I didn't have to wait at all! Inspector started the test right away and I was out in 20 minutes! He's super professional and friendly! Btw the place is right next to a car wash place. I almost missed it because I didn't see any sign that says Beach Smog. read more

For context, I was gifted 20-inch rims on a car that's supposed to have 17s. Sounds cool in theory. In reality, it turned my car into a rolling headache. Lift, spacers, constant shaking, grinding noises on turns, and every pebble in the road felt like a pothole. I went from shop to shop trusting different "experts," throwing money at the problem, and getting nowhere. Then I brought it to Beach Cities Rover. Jesse was welcoming right away. Alex, who actually knows Toyotas inside and out, took one look at my car and immediately knew what was wrong. He got everything dialed in, set me up with the right wheels and tires, tracked down a proper matching spare, and had the 4Runner driving better than it ever has. One day. After five years of nonsense. They also go way above and beyond. Jesse and Steve personally brought my old wheels and tires back to my place so I could sell them. That's not normal service, that's next-level. Big shoutout to CJ too. He's always quick to jump in and help, even when I roll in convinced something catastrophic is happening and it turns out to be minor. What really stands out is how they treat you over time. I stopped by again today with a brake light out, pulled in unannounced, and they handled it quickly and had me back on the road without making it a whole thing. Same deal if I swing by for something small like tire pressure. They just take care of it. I don't know much about cars. I just want mine to drive well, feel right, and not try to kill me at 35 mph. These are my guys. It might be called Beach Cities Rover, but they can handle anything. If they were able to fix my situation, they can fix yours.
