At the beginning of 2023, the name of this dragstrip was changed from Auto Club Raceway to In-n-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip. The race venue was at this dragstrip. It was a nice venue for a race as it was quite spacious and puts you in the mood to run a race! There were several restrooms located underneath the bleachers. The adjacent parking lot was also large enough to accommodate all of the cars of race participants, friends, family, and spectators. However, I wasn't too keen on paying the $17 for parking as I was only there for a few hours. read more

Always a fun time coming here for NHRA Winter Nationals and Finals! The Fairplex Raceway is a great venue! Parking is well organized and they even have shuttles running for those who don't want to walk. Tons of food vendors and beer stands and I love that they have real bathrooms (lots of porta-potties too). We try to go every year so looking forward to the next!! read more

First time here, it wont be my last. Came for the NHRA qualifying rounds and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately was short on time so didn't stay the entire time so didn't get to walk around much but really enjoyed myself. Parking was easy, charge was fair, I would recommend this to anyone that wants a day out. Just be cautious with kids and definitely bring ear muffs for everyone. Some of the cars sounds are manageable but once it gets to the larger size they get very very loud and not good for anyones ears for sure. They have shops, food, drinks, and seems very organized. read more

Had tickets for the IN-N-OUT BURGER 75th Anniversary Festival. The event had drag racing, a car show (associate cars, car enthusiast owners, special car builds, famous cars), bands during the festival times as well as the main headliner concert held at night. There were also plenty of food vendors including Esther's lemonade stand which was cute and a beer garden. There were carnival rides and games. It was a nice company/family event. There were only port a potties, so definitely bring some toilet paper, wet wipes, hand sanitizer or anything else you may need because with the amount of people at these events, the necessities may be scarce. They had water refill stations since you cannot bring outside food or drinks in. Hydro flasks must be emptied as there's no way to verify what you bring in is just water. Of course no weapons, or dangerous items can be brought in with you. There are several gate openings so pay attention as you get closer to the venue, since you may miss the actual entrance. read more

Pomona Raceway (it's called Auto Club Raceway for now) is a cool, historic venue. It's also home to the NHRA Drag Racing Museum, and is right next to Brackett Field Airport and the Sheraton Fairplex. You can access the parking lot from a few different gates, so make sure to check the venue map before visiting. @TOYOTAsocal is always doing cool contests and ticket giveaways on Instagram. This past weekend, I was one of the lucky winners of their Instagram contest for 2 VIP passes to the NHRA Winternationals at Pomona Raceway! It was so crazy to see A90 Supras set up as funny cars for drag, complete with Toyota emblems in the carbon blower and fat drag slicks. Aside from the huge Toyota Gazoo Racing display in the paddock, they created a super dope private VIP area at the end of Pomona's famous dragstrip, using the beds of new Tacomas to host a tailgate party for me and the other lucky contest winners! Thank you so much for an awesome experience Toyota Socal! We truly felt like VIPs, and my ears are still ringing from the nitro funny cars at the start line. Aside from NHRA drag events, I've also been to the adjacent Pomona Fairplex (it's all connected) for other events, like Import Showoff (longggg time ago), Grand National Roadster Show, and Offroad Expo. Healthy food options? Nada. Splurge anyway and get a brew or a mixed drink from one of the mobile bars. Restrooms aplenty? Sure. But don't be surprised if a port-a-potty is cleaner than the brick and mortar restrooms. Parking for the NHRA Winternationals (Feb. 2019) was $15 for general public. Disabled parking: It's a lot closer than most abled people have to walk, but just know that everything is still a hefty walk from where the disabled parking area is. And while my husband does have handicap license plate, keep in mind the police WILL check your license and registration to ensure that the vehicle's owner matches and everything. Kind of weird hearing my name as co-registerer through the walkie-talkie since I wasn't even driving, BUT I DIGRESS... The set-up for NHRA race day(s) is really nice - even when it's pouring down rain and everyone is hopeful that the clouds will move along quickly. If you're a newbie, it might take you a moment to figure out how to walk to the other side of the grandstands. The Winternationals this year got moved to Monday from the regular Sunday race day due to rain. RAIN! It was disheartening because not nearly as many fans returned on Monday and they didn't have enough workers to take care of the other side of the bleachers which is where we paid to sit. The good news is that if you keep your parking receipt from the postponed race day (and you're lucky enough to get to attend the following day), the friendly employees at the main entrance won't require you to pay for another parking tab. read more

First timer at the NHRA finals w/ my pal whom is a volunteer w/ Make a Wish Foundation and was nice enough invite me. We parked extremely far, did not expect it to be that crowded. ($25) There were carts taking people to and from the parking lot- to the entrance, so we didn't have to walk the entire way which was convenient. From the entrance we took a shuttle to will call located at the NHRA Motorsport Museum such a nice experience for our ticket retrieval beautiful cars and information. Great for photo ops Took the shuttle back and entered the booth filled fairgrounds, for tons of freebies, information, fun, food, and tons more. There was a race stimulation by Dodge, we headed to the MAWF booth and had our VIP lunch, w/ beverages took photos in front of the MAWF vehicle (who won their race) and headed to the stands. BUY earplugs, idk how I saw people w/out any on, it's deafening on that track, great view. Very casual as for the attire, I was not casual as I pictured a different experience, (stay tuned for the photos of my outfit attached LOL) Recommend a hat & sunscreen. Very loud noisy & fun ambiance. read more

I really love coming to the drags twice a year for the Finals and the Winternationals. The best advice that I could possibly give you is to arrive fairly early. I never arrive any later than 8;30. If you arrive after 9:30, you will be in a long line of traffic that seems to move at -2mph! Also, fork over the extra cash for pitside parking because you'll have less of a hassle when you attempt to leave the racetrack. Anyway, this place is fairly large and really doesn't offer a healthy selection of food. I like to bring my own food and pick up some desserts throughout the day. You will be here a LONG time! You can find beer at every corner and plenty of hot dogs, burgers, pulled pork, and all kinds of greasy/fried grub! If you fail to purchase your earplugs, people will stare at you then wait for your reaction to your foolish mistake. IT IS LOUD! It is quite normal for your eyes to become irritated and for you to do a bit of coughing but suck it up, you're at the drags not Knotts Berry Farm! A day at the drags is somewhat indescribable because you don't really appreciate it for what it's worth when you sit in front of your television screen. I do not recommend bringing small children here unless you have a good set of headphones to protect their precious ears. Make sure that you saunter around prior to the race beginning because you can meet your favorite drivers as they make preparations for the day's races. They're all very personable and they love their fans. read more

I've come for the NHRA finals since 2017. Every year I've enjoyed being there even though it wasn't my thing. There's nothing like feeling the cars go vroom. I even have a few favorites now. The food is your basic LA County fair food. I believe you can use your LA County Fair cup (not this past year due to covid). (I will test the theory next year.) There's plenty to drink like at the fair. The vendors have always been great. I like to walk around & talk to everyone. Most people are polite even though it does seem like a certain crowd likes to go to these professional car events. I've never had an issue with anyone. This year I was a little annoyed because someone drove through the racetrack with a Let's Go Brandon flag. I get the sentiment, but c'mon, let's leave that at home & enjoy the races. If it wasn't for that, this year would've been perfect. I believe they did half capacity, so it wasn't too crowded. The weather is usually great. This year it was hotter than normal. When you come out here, come prepared please. I see so many people with awful sunburns. All around a great family event. read more

Being coming here for years. I used to love coming here but this time it was much different. DON'T select Tower Side! This drag strip has plenty of room, clean areas and bathrooms and lots of food options but ONLY on the pit side. The Downfalls are, we paid the same price for 4 tickets and sat on the tower side. We weren't acknowledged once the entire weekend from the NHRA, the drivers, the Geico team or Auto Club. Not one shirt, not one prize was provided, there's on 1 food option. Tower side is totally ignored. We couldn't see the top end or the big screen tv because someone install a media stand directly in our view. No one even used it. The two Military Veterans I came with had to pay to enter and paid for their food. I bought their food and I bought some of the Navy boys who stood guard on each section. I've been coming to the NASCAR race here for ~5ish years with my husband. I'm not really a fan of the race, but I love sporting events and concerts, so something like this is up my alley. Overall, they do try here, but they fall short. They really need a food map, because there is really no map of anything besides the main stages and gates, but if you want to see a certain booth you just have to search. Most of the food is mediocre at best with very long lines. The drinks are priced decently for a venue like this. Also, if you have AT&T the network gets bogged down and you can barely get service. I wish they could get track wide wi-fi or something. read more

I'm a hard working teacher who takes only 2 days off a year. One in the Fall for the NHRA finals and another in (usually) February for Winternationals. It is one of my greatest joys to look down the track at the starting line and see the trees soaring over the tower, dwarfed by the San Gabriels. What a colossal shame that this track, a symbol of California car culture is closing because some NIMBY's don't like "the noise". My question: which came first, your house or this track which opened in 1961? You knew it was there when you bought the house. Be careful what you ask for. The low income homes/ retail/ logistics center won't be better. This teacher asks the Cities of Pomona and LaVerne to please use critical thinking skills before you demolish a place that makes your community world renown. read more

The Auto Club Raceway has been a stop of mine for the WInternationals and the World Finals for many decades (since 1971). The facility in its current incarnation is one of the nicest drag strips on the NHRA circuit. The ability to see all the teams in their trailers, to have so many choices of food, and to see such quality racing make this a real winner for those who enjoy the sport of drag racing. Good viewing from the grand stands, access in and out of the venue has improved 99% from what it once was! I miss Irwindale Raceway (the original 1/4 mile dragstrip with In N Out burger) & miss OCIR! Only 2 races a year! read more

Attended the NHRA Winternationals on 2/8/15. We had passes for a third floor Tower Suite and had a great time. Suites were super comfortable and we had a center view at the starting line. Amazing. And the free drinks (beer incl) and snacks = double thumbs up! Minus 1 star for the traffic congestion in/out of the parking lot, the loooong trek from the lot to your seat, and the lack of proper signage to guide guests through the expo area. read more

I am giving this speedway a rating of 5 stars only due to the fact that my adrenaline was pumping all afternoon from the engines revving. I love cars, I always have, for as long as I can remember I have been infatuated by the classic styling of the autos from the late 50's into the early 70's. The race contained none of these types of muscle cars, however the cars present maintained a muscle all their own. The race was long and loud but all and all a good time was had by all. There were many vendors selling any and all imaginable items relating to NASCAR. I ended up purchasing a hat, in hopes of not getting a wicked sun burn, and a beer cozy. I had to, it felt like something I needed to have in hand for this type of event. The race was fun, although I'm not sure if i'll be eager to go back for another 4 hour long race in which everyone goes left. I am a street track kind of girl, think formula one, the more chicanes the better. Ovals are kind of boring. I really liked the day spent at the races, no complaints on the event site, or anyone I came in contact with. All and all a good day, a little loud but I am very thankful I had headphones. read more

I love the Auto Club Raceway. I always come here for the NHRA events. I just recently went for the 2016 Winternationals. The parking is plentiful and there is also the Pomona Swap meet that takes place here. Always a ton of car parts to look through. In the venue there is always plenty of food stands and beer stands.
