Mt. San Antonio College Aquatic Center - Getting ready to time the athletes!

I always walk by it when going to the wellness center but haven't been inside the pool area until today. The pool facility is really well kept and nice! It's an Olympic size pool with electronic touch pads at the end, and lots of stadium seating on both sides of the pool as well as a huge scoreboard. I can see why this facility was being used for this event! I was attending as a volunteer with LA28 and Para Pan Pacific Championships where para-athletes from all over the world were competing for a chance to become an Paraolympic 2028 hopeful. These elite athletes were either physically or intellectually challenged and it just blew my mind watching them compete and timing their laps (so fast)! If you are looking for a local place to do some lap swimming, you can sign up for open fitness swim passes through Mt. SAC by month or by term!

I have attended the stadium for sectionals and CIF Sports swimming events. There is an adjacent parking lot and there's also a structure for parking which makes it easy. There is covered Stadium style seating. They also have a great sound system and scoreboards. This is one of the better aquatic centers that I have been to and always enjoy coming.

We saw 2 alpacas and 2 pigs only. We needed to pay to feed them which is fine but the amount of food they gave you is insulting. I would love to volunteer myself too if I lived closer! Aside from events like the open house and summer camps for kids, the best way to get acquainted with the Little Parrot Farm is through their affordable tours on Saturdays. While it may be frustrating for some that you can't just go in and see the animals any day, it really is in their best interest that a staff member is there to supervise these interactions. Too many places allow visitors to harass their animals or feed them random stuff that isn't good for them. And if an animal reacts defensively, it can be very difficult and sad to handle the aftermath. It's also amazing just seeing the same animals every time, and not being worried that anyone is going to be taken to slaughter. My favorite friends are Andy the alpaca, the two sweet pigs, and Maya the rescued border collie. I don't know the names of some of the newer pups, but they were all super friendly. They sell T shirts with their most popular residents featured on them that make for great souvenirs to take home. The farm part of the property is also beautiful and abundant. They sell fresh veggies online for pickup that look amazing, but that I haven't had a chance to try yet. Can't wait to come back for the next event!

I had the amber ale in a stein and the ale was really good. When I went up to order our first round of beers I wanted to see if I could taste the blonde but the gal said that she was not allowed to sample. I didn't want to order a stein full of beer I didn't like so I stayed with something I knew I would be able to drink. This was at the south end of the main building but I think the beer stands are independently owned; but I am not positive on that. There were some other food vendors like the Cathy's cookies [which are awesome, Wetzel Pretzel and an independent pretzel that was in one of the beer stands. It was not good but Wetzel and Cathy's were both awesome. Be prepared to hear the Chicken Dance often. It actually was fun to watch, especially the progression as more beer was consumed. They had some pretty cool events like a women's beer chugging contest, the men came later, a horn blowing contest and beer holding contest and oh yeah, more Chicken Dances and Polkas. First time here but hopefully, it won't be the last.

There were food vendors and a couple fair activities. The best thing to do was watch the entertainment, but even that was not great. Nothing was very traditional, which I was disappointed about. The food was very overpriced and not good. I was extremely disappointed by the pretzel with cheese. The cheese was flavorless and had the texture of Kraft mac & cheese cheese. Overall, I would not recommend this festival and I would not come back again.

One of the highlights was the small circus-style show featuring bikes and motorcycles, which was entertaining and added a unique touch. The acrobat portion was fairly short and ended up being my least favorite part of the event. The lighting and visual effects were absolutely amazing. There seemed to be a blend of Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz themes throughout the experience. While the visuals were beautiful, I think it would have been even better if they had fully committed to one theme rather than mixing elements together. My favorite part was exploring the many small rooms scattered throughout the venue. Each room was decorated differently, and it was a lot of fun discovering all the creative details and designs. I do hope that future versions stay more consistent with the chosen theme instead of sprinkling in random figurines that don't quite fit. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and I'd happily return next year to see what they create next.

They offer some great deals for local residents as well as on weeknights. We stopped by here the other night after my birthday dinner. It was a little chilly and windy, but there were so many cool things to see and do here. Talk about a plethora of options for photo ops and selfies! The Wizard of Oz theme is cool. There's a couple rooms that don't seem to follow the theme, which helps mix it up a bit. There's also a "circus" which looks like a lot of BMX and dirt bikes. We heard it and saw some of the performance, but it's a very small area of the attraction, so we were more interested in everything else. We ended up staying here almost two hours and they were getting ready to close. This is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something fun and different to do in the area.

The meet is touted as 'the world's largest cross country invitational' I hate to admit this but based on the website, I thought it was going to be a complete madhouse but it was so well organized! There is a parking fee (paid on site and in cash) and a per person spectator fee (which you can pay online or in person). My review is two fold- a spectators view and a runners view: Spectator: You're in a huge stadium, and while you can only see the jumbotron, you're basically getting a birdeye view of the race because there are drones and cameras on the course. The sports announcer gives everyone in the arena a play by play so you aren't missing a thing. Runner: My son said the course was nice- a combination of asphalt and trail running. There was plenty of merch available and it wasn't too overpriced. The t-shirts are nice quality. Overall, this is one of the most organized invitationals I've been to. Well done!
