The woman at the counter could not have shown less interest in assisting me if she tried! Philadelphia Insurance had processed our zero deductible claim with Safelite and a glitch on SafeLite's end showed a balance due at the time of my appointment. Apathy on the woman's part made it quite easy to leave and go to Glass America for service.

The car still didn't feel/sound right, so I got it checked out by a mechanic and he found that the transmission work was shoddy. My experience with Carstar was coercive, opaque, and financially damaging…read more After an accident, I was referred to Carstar by State Farm--not by choice. The car initially stalled while idling but worsened quickly (due to the accident) before my estimate appointment. It became unsafe to drive. Carstar arranged a tow without clearly informing me that it would be conditional upon authorizing repairs. I was explicitly told the tow was free. I only agreed to an estimate. Once they had the vehicle, they refused to include any internal or mechanical issues in the estimate--only cosmetic damage. When I asked about the stalling and unsafe driving condition (clearly related to the accident), they declined to assess it. They are now refusing to return the car unless I pay an unexpected and exorbitant towing/storage bill, despite me never approving that arrangement. They've threatened to sell the car to cover those charges. This experience has left me feeling manipulated--trapped between accepting incomplete repairs or losing my car entirely. This is not how insurance referrals or customer service should work.
