American Mobile Glass came to my home to replace a broken front driver car window. The installer didn't use a drop cloth and glass went all over my driveway. When I pointed this out he asked me for a broom and dust pan, but when I looked out of the window, he used a garden blower to push the glass out of my driveway to the pavers, apron and Street and then left. It took me 45 minutes to clean up all the glass. I called Josh and all he said was "he will talk to the installer". Unfortunately, it gets worse. I didn't open the back door which wasn't affected until the next day and heard a terrible grinding sound. When I looked, the hinge for the door was jammed with glass that was never removed. Then I noticed that there was glass all over the foot mat on the drivers side and when I bent down I saw that there was a huge amount of broken glass under the driver seat that was never vacuumed. I had to go to the local gas station to vacuum the door and car. I called Josh back, but he never returned my call. Very unprofessional and demonstrated that he couldn't care less about the disrespect that his installer and his company showed my home or my car. I educated my insurance company to my situation so others won't have to be treated so rudely. Last, but not least, the installer must of cut himself during the installation because there was blood on the upholstered leather of the door! Now that's disgusting and unacceptable. UPDATE: Pat mckernan, President of American Mobile Glass called us after seeing the above review and apologized for our bad experience and stressed that this is not how their company does business and offered to help us in anyway he could and that he has personally taken the appropriate steps to ensure this won't happen to any other customer in the future. We greatly appreciated his sincerity / professionalism and his company and their reputation should not suffer for the actions of one installer and his manager. I called around to get a replacement for my Pontiac. American Mobile was less expensive than Safe Lite repair. They came to my house on time. The guy was pleasant. I had a big dent in my door that he used his suction device to pull most of the dent out. That took about 5 seconds of his time. I had another glass issue with a Toyota. I asked my insurance company if I could use them even though I only had to pay my deductible. Another on appointment where the technician was on time and did the job well. I would use them again. Talk about a seamless transaction. I reached out to them yesterday Wednesday, had a quote emailed to me with in a half hour and scheduled my appointment for today, Thursday. When I spoke to them yesterday, they set all expectations, including that the technician will reach out to me at 9 am in the morning to give me a ballpark time of when they will be arriving to me, to fully replace my windshield. When I spoke to them initially on the phone, they asked simple direct questions about what features were on my front windshield, make and model of my car, etc. They arrived today, within their 2 hour window, and set the proper expectations again, it will take me about an hour, don't drive for an hour and no car washes for 48 hours. All logical and easy to follow. An hour later the technician called my cell, went out to my office parking lot, and he completed the job, including moving my easy pass and inspection sticker from my old vehicle window to my brand new one. I can not stress this enough, expectations are a huge benefit as well as customer service and a polite technician. $310 later, I am out the door with a perfect brand new windshield. I called and made a mobile appointment for someone to fix a small chip in my windshield. I was able to get an appointment for the following week. It ended up that I had a free week day at the last minute so I called in the morning and was able to bring my car in right when they opened at 9. I was out of there by 9:30! We made an appointment for last Saturday, but it was raining so we changed the appt to the following Thursday, we spoke to a man and didn't get his name. Thursday came and we called early in the morning and found nothing was scheduled. The lady on phone was abrupt and said that nothing can be done. Furthermore, she informed they have to order the glass. How can we have an appointment in the first place and they don't have the glass? I dont recommend going here, something is horribly wrong on how they run their business. The lady on the phone says we dont keep your glass in stock, odd since we had an appt and an insurance claim. Also this was for a 2012 Camry. We called safelite who had the glass in stock....and said it was standard. AMG is advertising all over but can't keep up with it, better be prepared for bad or inconsistent service, sounds like the lady on the phone was fed up talking to customers.. read more

I'm very particular about the services I receive and it's hard to earn a good review from me because my expectations are high. My windshield on my Forester cracked while driving down the highway. The car being just a year old, my insurance recommended several companies. After reviewing them on Yelp, I decided to give American Mobile a try. They were very professional from start to finish. They scheduled me the next day, followed up with an email confirmation, and 2 guys came to my home as scheduled and you can see they were experienced at what they did. They were quick, clean, and the level of service they provided was excellent. The quality of the replacement glass seems to be just as good as the original. After the work was completed, they followed up with what not to do until the window seals cured. I will surely recommend them to others including my own customers in my business. read more

Had them replace the front windshield of my 1998 Old 88 due to a large crack in the windshield. Although the work was done fairly well, the service technician broke both my windshield wipers and simply placed them, broken, back on the windshield, without mentioning it to us. We found out when it rained a few days later. Although it was not an expensive repair, it was dissappointing that the technician would break something and try to hide it from us. Otherwise, the work was good, with no leaks and no increase in wind noise. I also note that I did not complain to AMG about this, since it was more of an inconvenience than an expense, and I needed it fixed immediately, so I just had my mechanic replace the broken parts. Competitive pricing, but if you use them, carefully inspect the work before you pay and let the technician leave. read more

My insurance company uses American Mobile Glass as one of many windshield companies. Having read the many positive reviews on Yelp as well as other web sites, I decided to go with this firm. I contacted Darren in their Matawan office and he was very friendly and professional. After answering my questions, he said the company uses PGW and Pilkington glass. I heard good things about both but my requirement was that the glass be manufactured in the US. He assured me that the PGW glass was made in the US and that's what I will be getting, he also mentioned that the Pilkington glass was made in Canada. I decided to go with PGW and scheduled the installation for the following week. Chris and his helper showed up and spoke with my wife since I was busy working in the house at the time. Both were very friendly and professional and started to remove the molding around the front windshield. I came out 10 minutes later and looked at the glass. It was labeled 'Made in China' with a DOT 563 indicating it was made in Shenzhen, China! Chris called Darren who claimed all their PGW glass are made in China, none in the US. Needless to say, I was very disappointed but with all the molding off, I decided to proceed with the installation anyway but wasn't happy with being misled. I hope the quality of the glass and the worksmanship holds up. Yet to be seen... A minor nuisance: after the workman left, there were small glass shards on the outside along the well and on the hood and inside on the dashboard. The crack in the windshield was about 1.5-2 ft in length but expanded when they finally got it out but it didn't shatter. I had to vacuum the shards and hope nothing fell into the vents - I guess I'll be surprised what comes out when I turn on the blower. Morale: check the glass before any work is started to make sure it's what was expected. read more

As I just posted in another review, I'm notorious within my "circle" for having nothing but aggravation when it comes to replacing/upgrading anything in my house. I seem to find every contractor/company from he*l. About two weeks ago my glass shower doors exploded...yes, literally exploded when no one was even in the same room! I called a few glass companies & my brother referred me to American Mobile, which he used a few years ago for a windshield I believe. They gave me the best price out of the 3 or 4 places I called & sent someone out the next day to take measurements. Meanwhile, I already had another company come by to take measurements & a week went by without even a phone call to quote me a price. I finally heard from them a good week and a half after the measuring & they told me I fell through the cracks...OK, adios... Within a day or two of measuring, American Mobile told me they had the glass & could come to install it the next day! This was around July 4th, so I scheduled for the following Monday. The guys who showed up were super nice & did a good job; however, I had a minor issue with the direction of the handles (they installed to specs...I wanted something changed, so not their fault). I called the co. & they sent someone here the same afternoon, and the installer told me that anytime I have a problem, I should absolutely call. Professional staff & good work...You can't ask for more than that. read more
