Bought a 2021 subaru ascent from them with 20,000 miles last week and had it delivered to my house. Once i got home from work that day i jumped in it to go for a test drive to get to the end of my neighborhood and it started beeping at me saying the left rear tire has 17psi. I turned around to my house to find a screw and a nail in the tire along with a terrible wheel repair where they ground the face of the rim down. I looked over the rest of the tires to find chunks missing and cracks in all 4 tires in the sidewalls which wont pass inspection. They had just inspected the vehicle therefore they passed a car with tires that are unsafe. they offered to pay half the bill for new tires and i declined since they should be covering the full amount since i paid for a inspectable car that's basically brand new. The manager then called me and said they are not going to cover the full bill and that the screw must have happened at my house cause his technicians would never let that by them. I explained im a technician myself of 16 years and these tires are not safe for my pregnant gf to be driving. I told him if they dont cover the entire bill then i will gladly report to the state that they inspected a car that shouldn't have passed. He then yelled at me and basically told me good luck. i wrote a review on the facebook page and they then blocked me. I have never dealt with such a shady business in my life. DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!!

I go to Christopher Newport University and have a 2008 Mini Cooper with over 100,000 miles on it. The staff at Auto Haus go out of their way to help me. They always offer to provide me with a ride back to school or a ride to come back to pick up my car. They work with my dad over the phone to address the needs of my car and they keep him updated on what's going on along the way. It's really difficult to find affordable repairs for European Cars, but Auto Haus offers just that! My car runs better than ever after visiting them and you never feel as if you're being taken advantage of!

I've had several repairs done to my 2017 Silverado which have been not repaired correctly or charged for repairs which weren't needed in the first place. I had a front and rear diff service completed and less than an hour from picking my truck up the rear diff was leaking. I was advised by a manger that it was residual oil, only for him to change his tune and apologies that the rear diff was leaking and had to be re-sealed again. Mind you they had the truck for over 7 hours on a Friday and then I had to come back the next day for it to be fixed. I then came back for a standard oil change which went fine, and I was told I need my front brakes replaced soon. I had my front pads and rotors replaced; both lower control arms and my left front wheel bearing. I asked for my old parts back only to find my front pads to be close to 55% worn. I brought this up to manager Rio once again about feeling deceived on needing a brake repair that wasn't warranted. These repairs were completed back in Oct of 2025 Since then I've brought my truck back several times for a clunk noise that wasn't present after the front lower control arms were replaced. I was lied to several times that the repair was fixed only to drive the truck literally out of the parking lot to have it make the same clunk noise. In Jan the dealership had my truck for one day less then a month. When I came to pick my truck up I found the windshield had a huge crack through the entire windshield. I vented my frustration only to be told by another manager James Bridge that I was a liar and that the damage was present when I dropped off my truck. I told him to please check the cameras, he then stated they don't have any. He then proceeded to give me a walk around paper stating the damage was there...but guess what where my signature it wasn't there and it wasn't a drop off because they gave me a loaner.... I can only assume the dealership was attempting to pull another fast one. I ended up speaking with the GM who told me they were going to take care of the windshield. I then brought my truck my again for the windshield and suspension clunk noise for its 5th (repair/fix) while I was there other customer was venting how she bought a certified used car which was more like a lemon rattled with issues for being a certified used car that she had owned it for less than 2 weeks. During my visits I never once used fowl language or yelled. I did vent my concerns and frustrations to the service department as one would with these concerns Only to have the manager James Bridge very sternly and angerly tell me once the windshield was replaced I was no longer welcome to the dealership and they were not going to look into my cluck issue since there isn't a safety concern with it, even after James even helped my advisor write up the concern, the adviser was completely apologetic at the way he handled the situation and had no clue where that came from. If you take your vehicle here be prepared to be gas lit about repairs that are not needed, damage to your vehicle that wasn't there and if you vent your frustration you'll be asked not to come back. If you need an oil change and a tire rotation sure but for major issues stay away.

Guaranteed Auto Service determined it was unsafe and in need of a number of repairs including a very expensive air suspension repair. It was freshly "inspected" but was not safe according to the repair shop. One of the tires was driven flat making it unsafe. Additionally one of the tail lights has a crack in it where water entered and fogged it out. So it was not visible. For a myriad of reasons the car was not safe and could not pass a properly performed inspection because it was not safe. When I spoke to them over the phone to give a good faith deposit it was refundable. Once there was an issue he said "I have a sign right here in my shop that say deposits are not refundable." Well I could not see a sign over the phone from NYC and its contrary to what you said before. Just think about what type of shop and what type of person would behave this way. If you honestly had a good car why wouldn't you just sell it to someone else and give me back my money? Be careful here. The moment there is a dispute they turn. The car was discounted before I saw it because they couldn't move it. Suddenly there are 6 people they turned down because I had a deposit on it for a few days. This has been my experience. But, when the customers are buying a car they are buying something that will hold and create memories. Our first Hyundia was a 2017 Santa Fe that we bought while stationed in Oklahoma. That car holds many memories of road trips, military moves, the drive home from the adoption celebration of our two children and so much more. Last night we had nothing but the best at Southern Hyundia in Newport News. When we arrived we walked up. The goofy family of four that we are. As we approached the doors, Joel popped on out. He was as jolly as could be ready to help. Now I was already nervous walking in to start this process as we just had a negative experience at a different local dealership for a different brand 6 days prior. So I was slightly expecting the same service. Joel proved us wrong in just under a minute that he was here to help this family of four. He greeted us, introduced himself, then asked for all our names. He shook our hand including my children which is a major plus in my book. He heard our daughter's name and pronounced it correctly not once but twice. For whatever reason some have trouble with her name. He asked what we were looking at and we began the process. He provided us with a lot of information about Hyundia, what they offer, what comes with a purchase and so on. He knows his stuff. He showed us the palisades that we wanted to see. He explained all the trims he had. He not only spoke to my husband but me as well. That is a big deal to me. My husband and I work together not separate. We make decisions together. He was engaging with our children the whole time. Our test drive was fantastic. Simple and painless. We were able to test drive just us as a family of four. Joel stayed back and let us go to town. We were able to be comfortable and have candid conversations in the car while I drove around. When we got back we were ready to talk numbers, sign that dotted line many times and go home with our new family vehicle. Joel got our kiddos set up in the lounge with snacks, coffee and water... don't judge they are 13 and 18 LOL. He got my husband set up with a coffee and took care of me as well. We sat down and went through the process. We're were greeted a few times by different employees. It began to feel more like a business deal with family. I liked that the "numbers" were processed through in an open area behind a few glass windows. Made it feel more transparent. Once we talked numbers and settled on something we were set. We headed into Chris B.'s office. He was the money man. He got us all set up, was very thorough in his work. There was a video we had to watch and engage with. I personally had no problem with it. It made me more informed. Chris was professional and engaging the whole process. He made sure we were taking care of. When we negotiated a few times not once did he seem annoyed or irritated. He did his job, but was positive and respectful in all his approaches. Hyundia itself seems to care. We had the same top notch service in Oklahoma. Almost identical. We actually became friends with our sales associate so much so that I sent her a text once I was home about our new ride. She was excited for us. As we were going through the whole process I was looking for signs that this is what we should be doing. I've been doing that for a very long time. Last night was one sign after another. Without going into details, cliff note version... Maine, children, college, military, retired military, and much more. In the end we purchased a 2026 Hyundia Palisade Calligraphy Edition in creamy white. Now I shall go grab myself my emotional support water bottle, a blankie and sit on the couch... to read the manual to our new whip! I highly recommend Southern Hyundia in Newport News. If you go I hope you're blessed to work with Joel and Chris B.

Then this year January, 2024 Casey who I go to to complete the annual inspection (no charge). Charged me for the inspection. That's okay. I can take that. They passed the brakes which I could tell I was down to the metal (sound). They found another problem on the steering column. Just the steering column was somewhere around $2,600. They showed me the area while the car was on the lift. Okay. We discussed the rear brakes and added that $500 to the cost of service. I did neither. They did replace a burnt out bulb in the front. I decided I would have a second opinion before I decided on this repair. At the checkout desk I was (for the first time) shown a bill with an added 5% charge if I used my credit card. Never having had that charge I was surprised. I didn't have a check with me nor that much cash. I paid it accepting the charge. I felt I had no choice. I was a little steamed. I have always had a distrust with car dealerships. Casey had always been helpful in the past. But, the 5% took me over the fence. Last fall I drove the new Toyota Rav 4 @ Casey. The Honda CR-V @ a Honda dealer in Williamsburg. The Subaru Forester at the Casey dealer in Newport News. With this expense on my 14-15 year old car I decided now in January '24 to purchase a new car. I did not feel comfortable with either the Toyota nor the Honda. These cars did not have enough power for me. I found a dealership in South Chesterfield, VA, CMA'S Colonial Subaru. A bit of a trip but I found a comfort level (older woman in my 70's, widowed) that appealed to me within a short time. My salesman Willie Lingenfelter took the time to listen to what I was looking for. Let me drive 3 different models - Forester, Solterra and the Outback LTD. The Outback LTD turbo for me had the power I was after. The style, leather interior, room, comfort. Oh, and a satisfactory price that I was comfortable with. All the checks I needed were there. I purchased an extra 7 year front to back warranty that Subaru offers. Every single person I met through this experience was polite, friendly and helpful. This was an exciting experience for me. A new car. I loved my Venza but it was time. I received a very fare trade in. Casey here in Williamsburg with it's new charges added to the uncertainty I had developed. This IS A VERY PERSONAL experience. But I thought I would share it in a review so if anyone else experiences similar feelings about the Casey dealerships they can make up their own mind.
