I am bewildered and disappointed. All my previous experiences with Auto Haus have left me feeling confident about their work. Auto Haus failed my annual inspection, citing tires that had worn to 1.32. I get my tires from another company in town and so I ordered two new ones. That company, upon learning the reason for my new tires, measured my existing tires. Turns out my tires measured well above FOUR and did not need to be replaced in order to pass inspection. Needless to say I had my car reinspected with them, with the existing tires. Auto Haus response: "How we do it here is we check all around the tire tread and take the lowest value we find. Tire tread depth will always vary on the tire so to be safe we always take the lowest value. Some shops may do it differently but that is just how we prefer to do it to make sure the tire never reaches to where it may wear to the point of failure on one part and not another." So if you have your car inspected at Auto Haus, know that they do not follow state inspection standards, they follow their own. Instead of offering servicing recommendations, they may use their own standards to fail your car. read more

Took in our old Jetta for service. Turns out the issue was terminal. Considered options and decided to purchase one of the Mini Coopers in stock. However, the most appealing was on the Yorktown lot. They were kind enough to bring it down so we could compare the Mini on site. We ended up with a fantastic deal on a car that still had manufacturers warranty left. Took car in with battery issues. On the phone they claimed they tested my car overnight, simple fix. In person and on the report I received I was told no issues were detected and the car started fine. Took the car home and the NEW battery is still draining due to a parasitic draw. Clearly they did not test anything, it's an east read with a multimeter, not sure why their $110 computer diagnostic test couldn't see that? because they probably didn't even touch my car. Edit: To the owner: I paid for a service for my vehicle and was told the vehicle was fine after your testing. I could immediately tell that your service department was wrong with a multimeter. Testing every 5-10 minutes for an hour then testing every other hour. The parasitic drain is visible. I'm not calling to be either lied to or speak with morons again. If your techs couldn't see the issue, you should find new techs. Maybe you are just taking money without testing or repairing issues? Seems likely but who knows. read more

Incompetent, neglectful and dishonest: I relied on Vince and Landon at Autohaus Williamsburg to do a PPI and help me buy a car there locally from a private seller. I live 500 miles away in Atlanta so I relied on them exclusively to check, then repair the car - that was our agreement. Vince's cosmetic inspection overlooked paint damage on an entire door, a huge scratch and a lumpy bondo-esque "repairs" on the front bumper and again on a front wheel arch, a dent on the top of the front fender, damage to the driver's seat, corroded window trim, sun-damaged headlight covers and a leaky sunroof. On the mechanical side, their "Jaguar tech" managed to overlook 3 badly bent rims, a broken tophat stud in plain sight, missing retaining clips and warped rear brake rotors, 2 blown hood struts and the car rode like it was off-road, indicating suspension issues that any qualified Jaguar tech would catch. Their PPI and post-repair report back to me was "clean, repaired, so nice one of our mechanics wants to buy it, suspension working perfectly", so I bought it on their specific recommendation. On our road trip home the car became undriveable and my wife and I spent 2 days stranded in an unfamilar area looking for a mechanic, then waiting for repairs. $1,100 for repairs just to get the car home. And just to mention, the car was filthy when we picked it up from Autohaus, including a bic lighter and God-knows-what-kind-of-burnt-spoon sitting in the open on the rear floor. I paid Autohaus $3,700 for some questionable repairs and the PPI, none of which addressed the issues mentioned above. In addition I probably overpaid 25% for the car that they supposedly PPI'd for me, so let's say $8K lost in total. And what was supposed to be a nice road trip home for my wife and I was, of course, mostly a nightmare. Contacting them while stranded on the road I got no reply, then from home in Atlanta I got 4 emails of argument. I can't speak about Autohaus in general but my experience with them was the worst. read more

took my car in for a check engine light flickering on and off. The Autohaus crew diagnosed it as a fuel tank release valve issue. The cost to repair $300 BUT they said to take it to BMW, it might be under warranty. IT WAS and BMW repaired at no charge. Hats off to the Autohaus crew (Chase Boley, Landon Taylor and Preston Williams) they could have said nothing and charge me to fix it but they were HONEST and saved me $300. POOR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! If you want your vehicle fixed on time without issues, you'r better off taking it elsewhere to an Experienced Dealer! Auto Haus service preordered my parts a week in advance of appointment and I dropped my car off on a Monday at 0830. They then said the parts ordered were the wrong parts? Another two days wasted on parts reorder? Now it's Wednesday and they started work again with parts $1645 that still didn't fix the A/C problem ? It's now Friday and they have no clue of when it might be fixed or when a Loner/Rental car which they stated is now $25 per day can be provided to me for my Mother's Day family function ! They don't seem to know what is going on with my vehicle repair and I wonder if they are really Certified Mercedes Trained to repair a Mercedes at all ?? Some of the poorest service I've ever seen from a Mercedes Dealer Auto Haus is an F- in Yorktown! Good luck future customers in your experience with Auto Haus because i'm done dealing with them after this circus and im going to try my new customer experience with Tysinger or another Mercedes Dealer !! read more

Absolutely the best - ****** AutoHaus specializes in the sales and service of pre-owned luxury brands such as Mercedes, BMW, Mini, Porsche, Audi, VW, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo as well as most other import brands. A sixth star for AutoHaus sales and service would not be an overstatement. Over the past few years their professional and friendly staff have provided top quality and fairly priced maintenance and collision service for several of our cars at the Williamsburg facility. Recently I wanted to trade my 2012 Lexus ES 350 for a later model which had the newer safety features on it and was fortunate to find exactly what I was looking for at AutoHaus's Yorktown facility. Not surprisingly, the trade-in and purchase of the newer Lexus was concluded in a similarly hassle free and professional manner. Salesperson Ken Petty expertly handled the trade and purchase of the newer vehicle with no pressure, hype or other often joked about auto salesperson stories. Diana, the Finance Director provided an equally efficient and friendly experience carefully explaining all the transfer paperwork. Again - 180 degrees from my above referenced prior purchase experience. When I mentioned several marks on an otherwise perfect car Ken and dealer management quickly offered to take care of the issues without charge and provided a loaner for a couple of days. The sales process was 180 degrees different from the nightmarish purchase of the 2012 vehicle at a Newport News Lexus dealership (no longer owned by the same dealer organization) which culminated in a formal unfair trade practice complaint filed with Lexus corporate. In summary, both the Williamsburg and Yorktown AutoHaus facility sales and service staffs make both repair and sales experiences an actually enjoyable experience. Their facilities are modern and service options range from simple oil changes to major mechanical and collision work in their own shops. I hate leaving bad reviews because it means I've wasted my time. Took my car here three times for a sound coming from the back rear tire. Each time there was a lingering sound they could not figure out but it did not stop them from charging an exorbitant amount of money to fix what they thought it was. 2000k later the sound is still there and they suddenly "found" what the culprit was.Unfortunately they wanted an additional 575 bucks to fix it. They also pulled an unauthorized Car Fax report on my car. When I asked to speak with the boss of the service manager they said they don't really have one. When I asked who the owner was they said you can leave him a message but he may not call back. All of this leads me to believe that this place provides the illusion of excellent customer service, but-- in my opinion--- AutoHaus Williamsburg is an over-priced shop with mediocre service. Don't let the syrupy sweet demeanor of the staff fool you. They are in it for the money. Unless you don't mind wasting yours, I would go elsewhere. Definitely do not recommend. read more

A 10/10 Experience. The price as fair & they were transparent with costs. When getting an estimate for some body & paint work they gave me the option of choosing different kinds of parts. (Factory, mon factory and non factory industry standard) They even called the sellers while I was there to confirm the price. Since I was getting a new bumper they had it painted ahead of time so they could just pop it on. Getting the bumper put on only took less than 2 hours, the original time estimate. I was so happy to see my car looking as good as it did at the dealer. They even washed it for me!!! If you need to get body work done this is the place. read more

The sales experience at Auto Haus was pleasant and professional. The service...well, not so much. About three months after purchasing a used Mercedes SUV from AutoHaus the air suspension system acted up. They wanted to charge me $1900 to replace a single air shock, but would give a discount if I did two at the same time. That would be only $3,600 instead of $3,800. But, if the air compressor was bad, that would set me back another $1,200. I took it to another shop and got both air shocks replaced with OEM shocks for $1900. I ended up purchasing a compressor for $400 and replacing it myself in about 1 1/2 hours with the help of a YouTube video. Bottom line: if you think you're going to get any consideration at the service counter because you bought your vehicle there. Forget it! We have had subsequent repairs done much more economically by another shop. read more

Never brought my car here here so this review reflects a phone consultation. Have a '87 Porsche 930. My inquiry was simple " do you know and work on these period cars?" "Yes - absolutely we know the cars." So I asked for 2 cost estimates. The first - An AC conversion - fairly common with Porsche's of this era - to R134. "You'd have to bring it in and we'd have to price it then.....". Not the response I was looking for - presumption was a knowledgeable garage would have some general idea about the effort. Second request was incredibly complex and extraordinary in nature and undoubtedly cause trepidation in any garage when asked to remedy: TIRES!! I conveyed the brand, the car, the model, its originality, etc. In fairness - I was asked the tire size - suppose I should have known that - but good grief - I got more responsiveness and help out of a 30 second interface with tire rack.com than I did this place. The bottom line up front: I gathered no indication this place was remotely interested in work or assisting hence the review and rating. read more

There is false sense of that they are a certified Volvo repair shop because of the use of the VOLVO logo on their sign. They are not and after spending thousands of dollars for a repair on my engine which was to be warrantied for a year. I took the car back to them two times with in that time frame (one because I believed there was a problem and second because of oil change and still thinking it had a problem) and both times told there was no oil leak. We even called several times and were told that it was acceptable for a Volvo to use a quart of oil every 1,200 miles. (I know what a load, right!) After the warranty expired, I took it back because there was a visable oil leak on my driveway, they said a part failed and would warranty the parts and i pay for the labor. Then said I needed pistons for an additional $4K. Paid them to repair original parts that failed and took the car to a Volvo dealership. Turns out the only problem was a gasket that they had replaced or apparently not. Did not need the additional $4K in work! Will never use them and will warn everyone I know! Lisa E. read more

Visited on a few occasions. Always helpful; never pushy. Salesman kept a lookout for a vehicle that would meet my needs, and would call on occasion. Once I selected a vehicle I gave the company a couple days to make some minor cosmetic repairs, tint the windows, and get the paperwork prepared. Set an appointment to pick up vehicle. Not all repairs were made at time of pick up, so had to return the vehicle at a later date. Also, it took about 90 minutes to complete the paperwork, even though it should have been ready for signature. I paid cash and gave them time to prepare for my return, so I would have appreciated a more expedited experience. Overall, I would return to purchase a vehicle in the future. read more
