Dropped my truck off with a lifter making noise. Said they'd get it in on Tuesday. Rented a car and dropped my truck off. Tuesdays gone with the wind and I have yet to hear from them. I'm a medical Traveler and the extra expense of renting a car is making whatever the repair bill winds up being, worse. The service staff have always had positive attitudes and were quick to help. I recently had a great experience with two gentlemen in the service department. I had several questions and they answered them all. I was never made to feel like my questions were ridiculous or that I was taking too much time. They shared personal experiences related to my vehicle woes so I felt like they empathized with me. They even shared weather related car advice with me and I thanked them for sharing their knowledge with me. Today I learned they the wipers they sell are sealed in plastic until purchased which gives them a longer shelf life than what we find at auto parts stores. Left my vehicle with Chevy service for over 2 weeks to repair my AC issue. I get back from vacation and pick up my "Completed" vehicle. 5 minutes up the road I have some mystery smoke/fog billowing out of my air vents. This was concerning, but then my 2018 impala starts overheating rapidly. I called immediately and was asked if I would drive it back to the dealership (Probably to avoid tow costs). ??drive my car that just overheated!?!? That's the last thing you should ever do after a overheat issue. I then waited and hour to get towed in the high heat. Before this, the same service agent, Peter, completely forgot to do my vehicle safety inspection. So I was expected to drive expired?? No. They made excuses and minimized there inconvenience. Pulled in at 930 for a 20k mile service. Tech quoted a two hour wait. Five hours later I ask if my truck is ready yet. Get told they're wrapping up now and the techs have a recommendation sheet. I asked what's on it. They say cabin air filter replacement. I tell them that's part of the 20k mile service. They tell me you have to specifically ask for that. I say I did. I asked for the 20k mile service, which calls for a cabin air replacement. Well, they didn't do it, just an oil change and tire rotation. The individual who called me, multiple times during my work day, left messages on my phone that were threatening and unprofessional. When I brought the car back that evening (after work) they told me they had already sold my trade in and I got stuck in a car I didn't originally want when I first went in there. If I knew back then what I know now it never would have happened. Now I know someone will say this never happened but I will assure you it did and will assure you I have tried my hardest to deter people from going to this dealership for the past 15 years, and still do! I didn't feel like they wasted my time! I took my car to get serviced, just an oil change and general care and as soon as I get there they check me in. Everyone was transparent with the time and how long it would be. Even signing in, the person I spoke to said that would take a little bit longer since it was my first time with my Traverse. I went and sat in the waiting room a bit and decided to leave and when I get home they called letting me know my car was done. They had general recommendations but weren't pushy. My wife and I bought a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee a little over a week ago, needless to say but we got suckered. During the test drive and looking over the vehicle, it seemed to be in great condition for its age. There was a dent with rust on the roof that I didn't see but little did I know that would be the smallest of its issues. We also bought it knowing that it needed tires and the back up camera wasn't working, and I figured out why... It wasn't possible to check if the vehicle had any leaks nor did it look like it had any from the shape the interior was in. After taking the jeep through a car wash, I found out real quick that the roof in the trunk leaks and fills up the plastic trim with water. I read some of the bad reviews, but I personally am just not seeing it. I think people are really quick to leave a 1-Star review because the smallest thing happened to them (these are the same people who get mad at the restaurant server because their steak didn't come out perfect; never realizing that's it's the cook's fault, and then they take it out on the sever by not tipping)...there's always going to be these types of entitled people in the world who are stealing our oxygen. I dealt with two different salesmen, a finance manager, and the store manager, and I have nothing but good to say about them and my buying experience. 1) The Salesmen: (Samuel Exline & Dennis Wright) were perfect gentlemen. I was looking at a $78K ZR2 Chevy Silverado truck. There was zero pressure from either guy. I started off working with Sam, but then Sam went on vacation and Dennis and Sam started working in tandem together to get me taken care of. Even though Sam was with his family on vacation, he still texted me and followed up on everything going on. They knew I was buying someone's truck that weekend (and they knew I was looking at a Denali at the GMC dealership and a Ford Tuscany Addition truck on the showroom floor at Beach Ford), and I still had zero pressure from them. No phone-calls, texts, emails, etc. They just gave me my space and let me form my own opinions and decisions. For someone who has purchased new trucks every few years for the last 35 years, this was a breath of fresh air. They were both extremely knowledgeable about the truck and all of its functions, accessories, and bells-&-whistles. I will definitely use the same salesman(s) again when I trade up in a few years. Also, I wanted them to sweeten the deal with three things: a} give me more on my trade-in, b} install the Amp-Research hidden running boards (the costliest and nicest hidden running boards on the market right now), and c} install the Tonneau Back-Flip low profile aluminum bed cover. They did all three things for me...and I got 1.9% financing. So...ask for Sam or Dennis when you go in. 2) The Finance Manager: this is the person who usually really pushes the extended warranty. At my last buying experience at Checkered Flag Toyota, the salesman was upset (and visibly agitated) that I wouldn't get it, and even called me almost daily for a week after my purchase trying to get me to buy it. My guess is that maybe the salesman gets a portion of that extended-warranty fee...I really don't know. But after that experience and something else underhanded that happened to me at Checkered Flag, I will personally never go there again as long as I live. But this Finance Manager at RK was the sweetest lady to work with. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. We chatted about our families, travels, etc. I only had to mention it once that "I'll pass on the extended warranty", and then never heard another word about it...and it's been nine days since my purchase. And I can always add it later if I want to. 3) The Floor Manager: a really sharp guy. Again...no pressure to buy after I left to go look at other trucks. He's the one who had to ultimately approve my three requests that I wanted added on to the deal. I'm glad he approved those, because there's a possibility I may have purchased the Denali from the GMC dealership, cuz they had those already installed. It's the little things that impressed me with RK...and it is what will bring me back in three years when I trade up. Synopsis: I personally had a great buying (shopping around) experience at this dealership. They were friendly and I sensed zero pressure from anyone at any time. RK used to be my go to place for my 2006 Pontiac Solstice. I've been going there thru several previous cars. Although dealers are always a bit more expensive, I could count on it being fixed at the least. The last few years, I've seen service going further and further downhill. The first thing that pissed me off badly was when I took the Solstice in for a new driver's side power window regulator & motor. The price was steep at over $700 when the part could be bought online from GM at under $200. The window was fixed and has been like new to this day. The problem was, RK lost a trim piece that snaps in under the door handle hiding the screws. I didn't realize it for a day or two, then took it back to RK. They couldn't find it and suggested I look in junk yards or have to buy an entire interior door panel to get it. I have to do it?! At MY cost?! Who lost it?! I'm still pissed beyond belief over this as the part is impossible to find and in the right color. I WANT that part back even if it's trivial, it shows. The next REAL fiasco came when the AC quit in the summer time just about 2 years ago before Covid. Took it in and ended up spending an entire week while they floundered to find the cause. The AC would be ice cold for the first few minutes, then stop running the compressor. Two compressors later and no fix, the bill was over $1200. Turned out it was only the coolant thermostat - about a $12 part. The engine computer was turning off the AC to keep from overheating with a stuck thermostat. Yet I had to pay for RK's incompetence - WHY?! RK can throw all the parts at it they want - why do I have to pay for anything other than what it really was? Didn't I get charged $100 for 'diagnosing' the problem? Next came the day one of my HVAC stepper motors that control vents dies. It began making a constant, very annoying flapping sound. Several hundred dollars later, it lasted a week and is still screwed up. Most recently, I took it in for an inspection, oil change and to have the passenger window looked at as it was getting slow & weak. I arrived before anyone else at around 6:30 AM & waited. It took 2 days, they no longer ever have rentals and I received an estimate for just over $400 for the power window. Why did I pay over $700 a few years ago. Something is not passing the 'sniff test'. In any cased, I'M DONE WITH RK CHEVROLET. Out of all of it, I want that trim piece back that goes under the door handle they lost. I look at it every day. I had a prescheduled appointment for 8:00 am today to have my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado engine light inspected. My vehicle didn't get checked into the service department until 9 AM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told that there were 2 recalls on my vehicle when checking in. Prior to my appointment I wasn't notified of any recalls from Chevrolet[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As well I was told that an Uber driver will be dispatched to drop me off and pick me up from the specified waiting location that I insisted on instead of waiting at the dealership[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I was told all of this from the service advisor DJ. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I didn't receive any calls from RK Cheverolet/DJ throughout the day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called RK Cheverolet at 4:39 to check on the status of my truck and was on hold for 15 minutes until I decided to call on a second phone. I was able to get through on second phone within 5 minutes and I spoke with a service advisor by the name of Syrian, who put me on hold as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Be mindful I am on 2 phones waiting for someone in service to provide an update on my vehicle. By this time I have been on line 1 for over 30 minutes and line 2 for 15 minute[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I decided to hang up on line one but recalled the service department again. I spoke with the service advisor Steve. I explained my ordeal and expressed how unsatisfied I am with the service I received today. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told by Steve that I wouldn't be able to get a courtesy rental vehicle because it closed at 5 PM as well that all service technicians leave at 5 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So be mindful that [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am at a drop off location in which there is no car and I have no one to take me home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I WOULDNT advise anyone to buy a vehicle from RK Chevrolet. I have had this 2024 Silverado vehicle for less than 10 months. During this time of ownership, for an entire month, my vehicle was being serviced in May/June 2024 due to parts not being available without an ETA at the service department. The service that the service department provides is unacceptable and it appears that this dealership is only concerned with the selling of a vehicle NOT on assisting customers maintaining a vehicle that clearly needs to be serviced. Please take this advice seriously from someone who had to go out and purchase a new 2025 Ford F-250 in June 2025 because the service department couldn't provide a return date for my 2024 Cheverolet Silverado vehicle which is my main source of income as well were unwilling to provide a similar or like vehicle so I can continue to support my family. However after some back and forth we got it to a price that was agreeable. The general manager was pretty cool about the whole thing (of course it is the car biz so you never know). Either way I was happy. I leased a 2019 Silverado and Shantelle made sure the whole process went smoothly. She followed up on all my questions. Hand carried paperwork to make sure it was processed and went over and above to make sure I was happy.... Sad that RK lost her. So I am looking to purchase a new truck and trade in my 2019. I usually buy from a Chevy dealer right down the road but they didn't have the truck in stock I wanted nor did their affiliates. Searching the net I came across the truck I wanted and RK had it with an RK value price of 56.7K. I filled out the form and was then called by 3 different people which is fine. I set up an appointment to go look at the truck. As I am getting ready to leave work I pull it back up and mysteriously the price jumped by almost 3 grand. I called and asked what was going on and was told that it was a 3rd party's fault and they would not honor the price. Funny thing is it's still on autotrader at 56.7K. Absolutley ridiculous. Was there over 4 hours to get paperwork signed due to finding out that the personal property tax is not included in my lease payment like it always was for 20 years with my Ford Lease. Should have got another ford. Then they were supposed to have a check for $510.00 for my last car payment on my ford per our agreement. They did not have the check, then they were going to have it by Friday the 31st didn't happen, Then Monday no check then Tuesday after I make a couple calls find out from Anthony my salesperson that he said he had the check and was mailing it out that night. I told him that was find as long as it went out at least by Wed morning. Then Thursday 1-6-22 no check, I called RK Subara VB again get a very rude as always Dwayne sales manager talking very rude, tells me that no the check was not mailed and that they thought I was picking it up, which I told them several times I was not picking the checkup, Anthony was off and that he was told Anthony had it with him. I said now could that be why would someone not call me, and I would just finally drove to pick up the check or someone could hav delivered it to me. Now today Friday Jan 7th 2022 I finally find out after again making the calls (because they got their money and no one cares now) that the check just got mailed out supposedly Thursday 1-6-22. We will see when I get the check finally. When my lease is up in 42 months, I will not be getting another Subaru or dealing with RK again. Very bad experience. read more
