to get my car inspected never had an issue but now all of a sudden my parking brake failed. 4/7/26 Went to the dealership to get an inspection done...guess what! Emergency brakes passed the inspection. Now imagine that. Of all the places that would want to over charge the dealership was like nah you're good. That's the place that wants me to spend more money so why would they not tell me the emergency brakes are bad? So yeah I'm NEVER going back to AUTO INSPECTIONS IN AND OUT. These guys are still fabulous. I generally don't return to places. That's how I have 24000 reviews. But every so often, a business is just that awesome that I'll come back over and over. Today's experience was terrific. I arrived at 4:45 and even though they close at 5:00, they brought me in and got my inspection done. That's just about all they do here. State inspections. One year, I had a tail light out. They had a replacement in stock and only charged me $5 to do the work. Fabulous and that's why I return year after year. Visited this "South Blvd" location last weekend with my Orange Honda Fit and stopped in with my wife's SUV this weekend. Very quick service! - The honesty and integrity is greatly appreciated. Special shout out to "Corey" - Thank you for being so kind to Andrea and I today. We were in and out in no time. Again, I truly appreciate not being "Scammed" or "Tricked" into replacing something not necessary. Easy in and out location. Staff are polite, respectful and efficient. This will me be our "Regular" place for Car Inspections - I suppose we will need to visit yearly! Anyways - We are new to Charlotte! They call us "1/2 Backs" - NY/FL People. Great experience! We needed to inspect an older car before registration renewal and had to squeeze it into a limited window, on a visit with a family member who had to get it done quickly to enable an upcoming holiday trip. We arrived only a short time before closing -- on a weekend -- and the worker on duty showed no annoyance that we might be delaying an on-time close. It was fast and efficient. Not only that, the worker was knowledgeable enough about car functions to point out elements of the systems that, while not obstacles to a clear inspection, likely would need upkeep soon to ensure continued safe travels. He was absolutely spot-on about those, as our mechanic later confirmed. Not a fancy place or area but sure gets the job done. read more

My girlfriend took my car there to get inspected. The employee then took her credit card and came back with the receipt. I later looked at the receipt which had a $4 tip added to it...which my girlfriend didn't notice. Pretty sad when someone has to basically steal by adding a tip and not letting the customer know about it. It's only $4 but the principle of the matter is what will have me never go there again. And when she called the next day to complain an employee said she must have added it, which she didn't. read more

Took my mom's car here for inspection. She lives on the other side of town, but the drive to her house, picking up the car, and driving it back took longer than the actual inspection did. They really move cars through here, and since my mom's car is basically "new" (she rarely drives) I was in and out in no time. No appointment necessary. Had my registration and keys at the ready as I pulled in around back. I was getting ready to park the car and go in to check in, but the nice attendant told me I can just pull right up to the bay and they can take it from there. There's a small waiting area you could wait in inside the office, but I opted to stand outside. They really moved through the checklist so fast that I probably didn't even have a chance to sit (even if I wanted to). The only time I ventured inside was to pay. Probably the one drawback of this location is the small parking footprint and being off of a super busy part of South Blvd, I think can probably get a little tricky, but they really moved cars in/out really fast for the short amount of time I was there on a Saturday morning. I will definitely continue to come here and bring my regular vehicle in. Yes- it's a once a year thing, but you want to make it as quick and painless as possible. I needed an inspection to change my plate from out of state, I pulled up and the man told me my tint was too dark.. it's under the legal limit so it's not. I got an inspection at this very place two years ago with the SAME tint and they passed me. I took my car somewhere else to get an inspection after you guys turned me down and had zero issues, tint wasn't too dark. UPDATED: May 2020. I said I would be back and did. Couldn't find my registration card, but good to know it isn't required. Gave him my bill and DMV online info to register and that was good enough. Issue today was a rear brake light needed to be replaced. Extra $10, but worth it to get it done to pass. Again, super fast and super easy. Don't waste time anywhere else if all you need is an inspection. As I said I'm my previous review, all positive on this place and yes...I'll be back! When you read all the positive reviews, they are all RIGHT. It is March and time for my car inspection and couldn't be a worse month with my work and travel schedule. Had the day off so had to get it done so I can renew my tags. Got in around 10:30 with one car in front of me. Once the car was in, it was out! That quick! The Latin guy was a douchebag! It's bad enough that we have to pay for this inspection racket, but he's rude and thinks he's saving the world by inspecting brand new cars. North Carolina has so many rackets and this is the biggest one! They had two bays open and a little scooter in one of the lanes. It was entertaining watching them squeeze the tires with their hands as if they were avocados LMAO! Businesses like this should be eliminated. This is the spot to go if you are in a rush, or just because. I needed two vehicles inspected and wanted to have them done on my lunch break. After a quick google search this location popped up. I decided to give it a world and buy and I glad that I did. I pulled up about 11:30 on a Thurs and one car was ahead of me and it was one guy working. I figured i would be here a minute. When I say in and out in under 15 mins. Dude had my inspection done and ready to go by the time I got comfortable. I was impressed being I was supposed to have my oil change company do it and they told me it would take about an hour. I quickly gave my wife a call and told her to stop by with her truck. Literally, 20-30 minutes later vehicle #2 was done and we were on our way. The guy was super cool, gave recommendations and explained everything about the process to me. The reviews are absolutely correct on this business. This inspection station is fast and the team is courteous. My local garage/gas station in Steele Creek was replaced by a 7/11, so I had to find another location for a car inspection. Did a quick search on Yelp and read the reviews. Truly, truth in advertising, all they do is car inspections and they get you in and out of the bay quickly. This will be my new spot for my cars.
