I came across Auto Mall Tint Specialist through a Tesla forum and saw so many positive posts in the forum. Also, on Yelp, the reviews were on par with the forum. I have to say Greg is the best. He has a ton of knowledge and really tailors each car to the customers needs. I had asked Greg what Tesla owners usually get for tint but he asked what I wanted for the outcome (limo tint, heat rejection, long drives, etc). He provided a lot of answers to all my questions and was patient. The only hard part was getting a time slot with him which was about 2 weeks out. I drop off my car at 10am and picked up 3-4pm. The results were amazing and the drive home was even better! Prices were reasonable as Greg really listened to what I wanted. Love my new tint! My black car with black interior gets especially hot in the sun and the high quality ceramic tint that Greg uses makes such a big difference. I actually live in Southern California and am only visiting for a short time. Even though Greg's schedule is very busy, he was able to fit me in and he did a great job! I have a coupe and I know it is pretty cramped inside. Regardless, Greg got into every corner to remove any air bubbles. What an impressive experience. I took my Macan to Greg, without knowing anything about tint myself. He took the time to understand what I wanted, and his expert advice was extremely helpful and made me confident about my decisions. I knew I was interested in the 3M Crystalline product (which is how I found Auto Mall Tint Specialists) because I basically wanted to keep the car as close to the factory look as possible (it already had factory privacy glass on the rears), while adding more heat rejection. Greg explained my options to accomplish what I wanted, and even advised against things that weren't necessary or worth the cost to achieve what I was looking for. (Things like tinting the moonroof and back hatch, that would have made the cost of the job much higher.) I really appreciated the honesty! Greg also showed me exactly how he'd apply the tint to my car (he doesn't use a heat gun like a lot of other shops do--which makes their process easier, but also carries more risks as far as damaging the car and is likely to result in detectable imperfections in the edges of the tint). Crystalline is an exceptional product for getting the most heat rejection from lighter tints, and it's also quite hard to work with--so it's really important to go to an installer who's very experienced with it to make sure you get the best results. The end result looks great, and I appreciate all the expertise, professionalism, and care that Greg showed to me and my car. After talking with him (as well as reading reviews and talking to other car enthusiasts who have taken their cars to him) I was absolutely confident that he would do the highest caliber of work, and that he wouldn't damage my car--that was worth a lot to me. Greg was very patient with answered all the questions questions I had and was very informative about the pros/cons of different tint materials. During the consultation, he even allowed me to check the inside perspective his Volkswagen that had tint levels that looked ideal. He was also transparent about how he was going to install the tint on my side windows - showing me how the side panels of my car just pops off (very much appreciated). I had my windows tinted by Greg near the end of Dec '19 - Early January, and what an amazing job he has done. I reached out to him over phone, made an appointment, and within' the morning, my windows were tinted. No bubbles or smears. Greg has lots of technical knowledge and experience to help you find the right tint. Compared to other tint specialists in the area, he offered WAY better competitive pricing and quality. Due to time constraints I had, I only completed my side windows first, and came back to do the back lift gate window on a different day which Greg did not mind. Regardless, it's been working out great since. Lifetime warranty is offered through 3M (since that is the brand he uses). It still offers UV light protection without radio wave interference, etc. For reference-- I added 4 photos of a white Toyota 4Runner. My back windows were already stock tinted, but I wanted them a bit darker. I opted for 25% tint in the front, and 20% in the back including lift gate window. I wish I had gone a bit darker, but this is perfect if you're trying not to get pulled over. Highly recommend! read more

Greg did an awesome job with my Model 3, and honestly it is hard to tell that it is an after market tint job. The car was delivered on time and washed, which it was a nice surprise! His shop is in high demand and appointments may take a couple of weeks, but it is totally worth it, I mean, if you want to make an investment on your new car, it is better wait to have it done right at the first time. Greg explains in great detail the differences between films without being pushy on getting the top of the line as other shops do. he really helps you to get what you need, but something that really helps to decide which kind of material to use it's this display on the show room that has a super hot light bulb radiating heat, and you can just turn a cube with different 3M tint films so you can actually tell how much heat it's blocked by each one of those films. I have driven from San Francisco to Fremont to get both of my cars tinted by Greg. He uses 3M tint exclusively, which is pricier than other brands, but is also a more premium product. Premium film with premium installation gives the best results. I have used both 3M Ceramic and Crystalline in my cars and would gladly recommend them. The biggest challenge is how busy they are, but it is worth the wait. Greg only does one car at a time, so the waiting room is always clean and private and you can take business calls there comfortably with their WiFi. Got my 320i Windows tinted in 2015, 3m color stable, no problems. Called today to get my 2018 Murano tinted, apparently they don't offer 3M Color stable for the front windshield, quote per the owner, "it's too dark in my opinion for the front windshield for 50% tint". The prices went up by $100. $425 for all sides 3m Color stable, $275 for Llumar front windshield. I'm attaching a photo of how the front windshield looks on my 2018 Murano where the hood is bent inward to cause direct glare for the driver where even 50% will not help. I've tinted my front windshield for my prior two cars at 50%, and at 30%. read more

Greg laid all my concerns of a tint going bad to rest, explained the tier of tint that I really needed and did an amazing job applying the tint to my car! At first I was worried that getting a tint would be a hassle because several people warned me that tint goes bad with time and would change into funky colors and form bubbles from sitting in the sun. The thing is that those concerns are true with cheap tints. Greg only tints with 3M products ( at the time that I am writing this ) which have warranties against these issues. As for which tint, I was on the fence between adding either 3M crystalline or 3M color stable to my car. Greg explained what I would be getting with one tint over the other and quoted me for both with no pressure to buy the more expensive product. I'm very happy with the install done by Greg as well. All of the tint lines up with the windows, there are no bubbles, and the car looks great viewing from the outside and from the inside. read more

*Update March 2020 Just to give an update on the heat reduction capabilities: I'm very happy I decided to tint the windows, especially the front sides. It makes it so that sitting in the car waiting for 1+ hr supercharging, with the hot noon sun on the driver's side and wearing all black shirt and jeans, is still bearable for 20-30 minutes before I have to turn the AC on for 1-2 minutes. And this is only with the CR70 tint on the front. If you do something darker it'll be even cooler. - Original review August 2019 - I decided to get my Tesla Model 3 tinted here after speaking with the owner Greg on the phone. It was easy to tell from the conversation that he's very knowledgeable about Tesla cars and has a lot of experience with them. He also doesn't try to upsell you and is very honest about the different products offered and how their performance differ. I'm very happy with how the results look, it's very professionally done. I can't speak so much as to the heat rejection performance of the tint yet since I've only had it for one afternoon, but I can already tell there is a definite difference in the temperatures. Be prepared to have a real discussion with him, do your research, and you can work out something great for your car.
