I was involved in a minor car accident and just wanted to stop by the closest auto shop to make sure my car was drivable back to home. Auto tech turned out to be right down the road. Being already shaken up and stressed about what just happened, I was looking for a quick yes or no answer. The staff was prompt and helpful. I had my water pump replaced, along with brakes, timing and serpentine belts, and 100k mile service on my VW CC. The job took a little longer than expected and it wasn't finished by their normal closing time. Instead of doing the rest of the work the next day, they had 3 of their techs stay 45 minutes after closing and complete the repairs. This was a horrible experience. When my car wouldn't start, AAA towing suggested I drop my car here. Fast forward to when I chose to have my car towed a second time just to get it the hell out of there. Customer service interactions went from pleasant to antagonistic and accusatory as soon as I showed any sign of hesitation with the work they claimed I needed done, and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I chose to have my car sit, unusable, in my apartment's parking lot, rather than let them keep it any longer. Look at my other reviews and see that I do not normally have negative things to say about the businesses I patronize. AAA should end this partnership if they value their members. read more

I am 19, and I went to Auto Tech & Body with my father searching for my first car. I only had about $5000 to spend, and the owner Jay recommended a 2008 red Pontiac G5 with 50,000 miles on it to me. We spoke with him for hours, and he seemed like a very nice and genuine guy. He showed us a couple places where the car had been hit, allowed us to take it for a test drive (it seemed to ride pretty nice), and he even put the car on a lift to show underneath. While underneath the car, my father noticed a long line of sealant all the way across the bottom of the car. When we asked about it, Jay told us they come out of the factory like that because it doesn't mater because you can't see underneath. He then showed us two other cars with sealant like that, but they were just tiny little spots. He proceeded to tell us that he was selling the car for $5780. So we tried to talk him down a few hundred, but he wouldn't budge a penny. He took us into his office and showed us similar cars that were easily selling for $8200. It seemed as though he was giving us a great deal, and he seemed like such an honest guy that we believed him. We were just about to hand him $4000, but we decided to call a relative of ours that was a car dealer beforehand. He told us we had to have it checked out by a mechanic before we gave him the money. So we told Jay we'd be back the next day to do so. When we came to get the car, he didn't seem like the same cheery guy we had spoken to the day beforehand. So, we proceeded to bring the car to a mechanic, and he charged $40 for us to do so. Once the mechanic got under the car, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was actually two totaled cars that had been pieced together, the entire back half had come from a separate car. That line of sealant that "came out of the factory" was actually where the two separate cars were connecting. The mechanic said that the alignment could shift, and told us to take a tight U-turn to see if it would. He also named a huge assortment of different issues. So we took the U-turn, and of course the car started veering to the left drastically when we let off the wheel. Of course, we were furious for being lied to and taken for fools, and actually almost handing the man $4000. So we went back and gave him some due shit. Of course, he just kept trying to bullshit his way out of it. I realize that this has been extremely long review, but in summary, the man running the place is a con artist, and a good one at that. I bought a prepaid auto detail on Double Take Deals thinking this was a great deal to get my car detailed. Boy was I wrong! First off, I have a Lexus and I've had it detailed several times in the past. This was, by far, the worst detailing I've ever had (they do better at my local car wash for a whole lot less). They left me a big black smudge that wasn't there when I brought the car in and now I cannot remove (I did point it out but they just covered it with a blanket that I had in the car), the floor mats didn't look like they were even cleaned, there were streaks on the windows and dash...did they use a dirty towel? The two fine scratches that they told me they could get out were still there. Ugh! Then I had a problem with their 'inspection'. Of course they came up with $2000 worth of repairs that I needed! They did work on my car that, although I authorized, the estimate and the bill when I picked up the car was $400 more! You've got to be kidding me! Be an educated consumer. They don't let you pay with American Express cause Amex will protect you from businesses like this. After putting it in dispute with my credit card company (Visa doesn't protect you once you sign for it and Auto Tech and Body held my car hostage unless I paid them in full), I finally took them to the Better Business Bureau and they reimbursed me 1/2 of what I requested. If you end up taking your car to this horrible body shop make sure that you leave then an open check book and they'll be your best friend. I took my car there after it was hit by a truck and t was therefor approximately 6 months or more. In those 6 months the manager that made me 1,000 promises conveniently no longer worked there anymore. By the time I got my car back, there were all sorts of problems. They did a horrible job lining panels back up, under the hood looks like a ghetto swap shop mechanic was working on it. There was and still is stick tacky gunk all over the inside and outside of my car. They hacked my suspension apart, it drives crooked, my hood literally only opens half way (check pics I posted on their yelp page) they cut parts that I paid good money for, but the biggest bother is how my passenger side fender was very obviously crooked and they (JAY THE OWNER HIMSELF) said VERY bluntly it was because they weren't getting paid as much to work on my car (which was covered by insurance through an accident) which was $40 per hour as opposed to the $90 they were getting paid to work on the car parked next to mine. My favorite part is how they really have a hard time understanding English over the phone but when I did complain, they didn't do anything and when I told them I was going to need to take action she said "it's a free country". Took a Maserati in for a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) and came away with a very disappointing experience. Although I had been assured that they were familiar with this make and model and could perform the PPI, it became painfully apparent after the fact that they did not know what they were doing. They even missed the most basic fact that this had a dry sump engine and that oil should be measured with the engine running. When I got the car home, I found that the engine had at least two quarts too much in it. (I am not accusing Auto Tech of putting the extra oil in, just that they should have caught this most basic of issues. Especially since they told me that they checked all fluid levels.) There were other issues as well, including missing that the reverse shifter was broken and needed a new shifter fork assembly, and also not having a scan tool to measure the remaining life of the clutch. I am not giving Auto Tech a 1-star rating because the staff is friendly and professional and I believe can adequately handle non exotic cars. However, the PPI they performed for me was a complete waste of money. read more

They tell you what you want to hear then do the opposite. I dropped my car off for an oil change and to redo my brakes. They called me 5.5 hours later saying it would be $250 more and told me it would be ready by 5:30. When I went to pick it up I waited over an hour before they told me that it wouldn't be done that day. They offered to rent me a car, if I paid for it. Also, said my car would be ready after two hours the following day. Declined the rental and I brought my car back the next morning and waited for 4 more hours and had to leave without my car! Causing me to wait two more days to pick up my car because of the weekend! More than 5 hours wasted waiting for my car in their shop, 38 hours spent without my car, plus more money spent than anticipated after being told it would be ready that day! The people are nice, but the service quality is seriously lacking. read more

When I returned to see if this was a mistake they basically told me too bad, and then i was screamed at for even questioning their superiority. DO NOT WORK WITH TERRY, or use Auto Tech and Body if u want to enjoy week. Jay the owner of the shop called me to rectify the situation and unlike the upper echelon shop owner he portrays himself to be had no solution as too why i was told the job would cost $220 and it wound up being charged as $370. I asked him to refund the $150 and he said "they aren't in business to refund peoples money" ..... TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I recommend you find another shop. read more

These guys are great! I took advantage of the Angie's List (sorry Yelp) Bid Deal detailing for $99.00. I paid an extra $50 for interior detailing and $30 for an oil change. I cant say enough positive things about these guys 1. They scheduled me the same day I called. 2. The inside of my car looked like a dumpster - dog hair everywhere, dirty floor mats, four year old popcorn under the seats, spills on the seats, soda sprayed on the interior... you get the picture (I'm not a car guy). 3. The car had never been waxed. 4. The front desk staff, especially Chadia and May (probably incorrect spellings) was outstanding - they knew the details and operated with efficiency. 5. I got my car back on time - and it looked like a different car! They got it all, inside and out!!! Auto Tech is absolutely on my "refer family and friends" list. In closing, I'm trying to find something to complain about.... oh yeah, they misspelled my first name.... but everyone does that! If I could give these people a ZERO star I WOULD. They don't deserve the one star required. I was told that I can no longer get serviced there because I'm costing them too much money due to only getting oil changes. If I'm costing you too much money, why not raise your prices to balance the cost? I Get my nails done in 3 different places (1 for a pedicure, 1 for eyebrows, and 1 for a manicure) and never did they tell me I can't come anymore because I'm not getting all my services done in 1 place. I had a big problem with this place that almost cost me $ 683.00 I was hit from behind and went to this place again . the last time I was there things went well. but the second time real shit experience. I never learn don't trust anyone in south florida. first the car rental problem . I get there and they tell me I have to pay or wait until amerisure insurance ( another shit company ) to open and talk to them . so I waited over an hour and finally got a hold of the agent handling the car accident case and I got on her back and made sure they pay the bill . I learned the hard way you have to play hardball with people in south florida and never be nice because its there chance to stab you in the back if youre weak. then wendsday I go to pick up the car then auto tech tells me I have to pay the repair bill . I got really pissed and told Debbie I was promised by you that advanced pools would pay the repair autotech said they were suppose to pay you with a check and i told them I never got a check.i didn't know I was being sent a check but they didn't care. I had to give them my credit card and pay the full amount or they would keep my car .auto tech lied to me and then kept my car . as you might of guessed I was on fire . to poor salt on my cuts the kojack. wanna be was laughing at me. finally the manager showed up and called amerisure . the manager defended Debbie and said its not her fault I never got the check. the whole time I didn't know how this works... This place is a rip off! Beware before leaving your car with them! Left my vehicle so they can tell me how much is going to be to fix it, after 5 minutes they told me that the cost of fixing will be maybe $500, maybe more. I decided not to do it with them for this price. Once ready to leave, they gave me the bill for $108 for "diagnostics" they say --- but they didn't do anything, they only connected a computer to the car for 5 min and gave me their estimate, why does this cost $108???? They never notified me that it will cost me to get an estimate!!!!! They would not let my car go unless I paid the bill. Also, if I payed for "diagnostics" they never told me exactly what's wrong with the car, if I'm paying for this, I believe I am entitled to know what needs to be done, for my $108 they told me only how much it would cost to fix it with them, and even so they told me that it could run more than $500 in repairs. They can't give you an exact price to fix, they don't tell you what's wrong, they only know how to take your money and not give you the car unless you pay them for nothing. Unfortunately I chose Auto Tech and Body to check my car for my Geico Insurance. I had the car checked and they insisted on putting their sticker on my door saying it was a requirement from Geico. BUT they never sent the report into Geico which resulted in me losing my collision coverage. If this is how they conduct business, I would never use them for auto repair or body work, nor would I refer them to anyone. Geico will be reviewing their contract with Auto Tech and Body as well. read more

Awful service. My car was rear ended & and they are very good at pretending to care. It changes once they get a check. Bill did not listen to details about what needed to get fixed. Missed details on my sunroof & radio when they were written on the car & they still aren't back to the original state. The accident delayed my move to north Florida. Two months after getting the car back two headlights became loose and I fixed it on my own. Three months later a third light (reverse) fell out and I called the shop. Bill pretended to care and insinuated that something happened to cause the lights to fall out despite detailed pictures. After explaining their poor service is unacceptable he pretended to need some time to consult management and never called back on this critical failure on their part. Take a chance with this shop if you don't value your car. If I could leave a zero rating I would. read more

Jay, the owner, goes to great lengths to make sure all work is done to the highest standards. He is also one of the finest human beings I have ever met. My girlfriend was in an accident recently. The insurance company wanted to total the car. Jay crafted the estimate so they couldn't. when the repairs were finished the car looked better than it did when she bought it. Jay even had his team fix a hole in her rear bumper and molded and painted it so it looked brand new. That particular repair was not part of the original estimate. Jay had his team do it for free. The staff at first was friendly and welcoming, but the show did not last long. Do not take them at their word and get everything in writing. Because it was going to take time to check out the car when we only asked for a lock to be changed, we were offered a free used loner car, which turned out not to be free. We were told that the cost of the inspection would be deducted from the actual work if we chose to go with them, but wasn't. When we pointed out their ruse, the office staff became quite ornery.and they charge us so much.if we knew how they work we would never go there. read more
