I decided to have the repairs completed locally as opposed to taking the Benz to my regular mechanic in Newton, Massachusetts. Brought the car in for one repair estimate. There were recommendations for about 8 other needed/suggested repairs. Easily could have gone into a $10k repair bill. However, I opted out on a couple items which brought the repair bill to just under $5k. Nice enough employees, however it did take a week for the repairs to be completed. Totally understand that foreign cars are much more expensive to repair than domestic models. The positive side is that the repair work is guaranteed for 24 months with authentic parts specifically related to the automobile they are performing the repairs on. They use Benz parts for Benz repairs, BMW parts for BMW repairs, etc.

I picked up my Mustang from Phil in August of last year after the car had been sitting at his shop for an extended period of time. The work was originally described to me as relatively minor. Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, the battery died. At that point, I chose not to call Phil because I did not feel it was worth my time or the additional frustration. I replaced the battery myself. Fast forward to today, and the car is now leaking transmission fluid and oil from the transmission seals and engine. In my opinion, the car sat for so long that the seals appear to have dried out. What makes this especially frustrating is that many of these items had previously been addressed by Phil's shop. He had already replaced my oil pan and installed new transmission seals -- work that cost thousands of dollars -- only for the same problems to return. This Mustang has been in my possession since 2015 and has fewer than 10,000 miles on a complete engine rebuild. Given the amount of money already spent and the amount of time the vehicle sat, this outcome is extremely disappointing. I know many others have complained about how long Phil takes to complete repairs on classic cars. Based on my experience, I will not be returning to Phil's shop. My strong advice to anyone making decisions about repairs on a classic vehicle is to be very careful. These are decisions you will have to live with for a long time. Spare yourself the aggravation and consider taking your vehicle to another shop.- ----Prior Review----- I have been going to Autoverks for years and frankly cannot believe I am writing this review. Phil, mechanically speaking runs one of the best shops I have worked with, my review today is about their business practices which recently I have found concerning. I dropped off a 1966 Mustang in November of 2022, yes correct, almost three years ago. The car went in for a repair on power steering, installation of new instrument panel, general maintenance, what was supposed to be a minor suspension adjustment and tires (I provided new rims with intent to increase to 17" tires). When I bought the car in Phil was resistant as his shop was full and he had a backlog of work. He stated that the work I requested was "relatively minor" and he would perform the work on a best effort basis since he had higher priority jobs. I was amicable with that approach as I didnt need the car back quickly. I spoke to Phil dozens of times over the last couple of years while he was working on the car. Two plus years is a long time but I had alot of faith and trust in Phil. The entire time he stressed verbally that the work was under $2,000 and that he would "take care of me" because I was a long term customer that had been very patient. Well I just got the bill, no notice and no written estimate, just a verbal estimate for under $2k and the final bill was for almost $4,000. It also didnt include all the work, the tires were never ordered. So basically I am being provided a partially completed car for twice the price he quoted me. It goes with out saying you need to be very careful when you come here and insist on getting written estimates. Florida law is pretty clear and prohibits these predatory practices. This is the second time this has happened with Phil, the first occurring five years ago with a 1972 Chevy K10, where he showed up with a surprise $5k bill on something that I was told was minor.. All my other repairs have been reasonable. If we cant find an amicable arrangement this will be the last time I bring my car here.
