I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received at the Auto Bell location on South Boulevard. As a hard-working customer, I expect to receive the quality of service that I am paying for. I purchased the $41 premium car wash package, which is advertised as a thorough interior and exterior cleaning. However, the service I received fell far below acceptable standards. When the attendant (Charlie) informed me that my vehicle was ready, I decided to double-check the interior before leaving due to prior disappointing experiences. Upon inspection, I discovered that my car had not been properly vacuumed at all , debris and dirt were still clearly visible under the floor mats, the floors were dirty, and multiple interior surfaces had not been wiped down. Had I not checked, I would have driven away having paid full price for an incomplete service. I want to be clear that my concern is not about the age of the employees. Everyone starts somewhere, and young workers deserve opportunities. However, proper training, supervision, and quality control are essential especially when customers are paying premium prices. Customers should not have to inspect the work themselves to ensure that basic tasks were completed. I strongly encourage Auto Bell management to invest more in hands-on training, performance checks, and accountability for employees before releasing vehicles to customers. Practice vehicles, quality inspections, or supervisor sign-off could help ensure consistent service standards. At this time, my experience would merit no more than a two-star rating. A cautionary tale, in a time when we are unable to hand wash cars, I have a couple of older cars that have unfortunately gotten very dirty under our trees and I've been forced to run them through a car wash. A couple of months ago, I ran one through the AutoBell on 3rd Street and it loosened a couple of pieces of left rear trim. I thought that maybe it was a super aggressive unit, so tried the same car at the South Boulevard location, unfortunately a worse result. I didn't notice it for several days (car parked facing away from house), but noticed driver door trim had been stripped off. When I returned to the AutoBell, the first technician searched a pile and didn't find it. Fortunately (at least in the sense that it matches), another tech found it in a different pile. So, 0 for 2 with this car at Autobells, may have to risk a fine or go touchless. Beware on old cars! read more

I am new to the Charlotte area and I recently bought a new car. When getting it washed for the first time off the lot, I chose Autobell thinking it was a reputable place. I was quickly proven wrong. The experience was decent, the staff is quickly turning over cars not providing any attention to detail when cleaning the interior. After leaving I noticed scratches across various parts of my car including the hood, passenger side doors and mirrors. I returned to the Autobell location to file a damage report. The store manager described what they inspected for, my car had every detail that he was explaining that can be caused by the machine. Yet when I got the report back it detailed "Autobell does not accept responsibility" and I was told I could get a lawyer to represent me. I am very disappointed with how the situation was handled and now left on my own to repair the damages they caused. read more

The past few times I've gone to this location I've regretted it but the location is very convenient for me (I live in the Southpark area of Charlotte NC) but now I am totally done with Autobell. Today, I spent about $39 for a wash and interior cleaning and when checked out I decided to look inside the rear hatch (Honda Element). The frame around the hatch was totally filthy and obviously untouched. I pointed this out to the kid who was waiting to give me my keys and he said, "We don't wipe down cars that are that dirty." I get home and notice my back seat 3rd hasn't been touched as the sand/dust was still on the seat. Before it went fancy with all the new lanes and vacuum places, it was good, very good. Today, I had to ask them to raise the hatchback and clean the inside of the back window. They did but they didn't clean both windows (Prius, slat window below the bar) and they didn't clean the cup holders in the front. They didn't provide a rainy day raincheck which matters because of course it rained after I ran home to unload ice cream sandwiches. Le sigh. If you have a truck like I do it's not worth coming here because the drive thru doesn't clean the bed. Oh, and if you ask the personnel to give the bed a bit more attention, they tell you they can't, or like today, he said they "don't really have a way to do that." It's 830am and there are no customers behind me. It would just take a broom, and I see multiple brooms hanging outside of the car wash. This has happened twice now. I live in Miami, Florida. Have never heard of Autobell Car Wash yet they have continually charged my bank card $69.99 a month for three months, on three different cards. I have to get a new card each month because of these fraudulent charges on my cards. They said some guy named Jones from Virginia who drives a BMW made these charges. I asked them to close his account, they said they can't. Well I can't keep getting new cards every month either. How does he know my card number? Guess next stop is the police. Water still left in the car. White lent all throughout the car. Mats thrown in the car not even played where they were when I left the car. 2 young guys worked on my car and thats the best they could give me. I always tip well( but in his case it wasn't even worth a dollar. I asked the young man if he could at least put the mats in place and get rid If he lent. Nope. Mats left and the white towel he used left even more lent than it was when I got it. I had to get it out myself. I WILL NOT return. Sorry AutoBell. I got a car wash here about a week ago. Unfortunately my automatic windshield wipers were not shut off. This resulted in one of them getting broken off. Once I realized almost week later I went back to the car wash. The first person I spoke to said they didn't have the blade and there was nothing he could do and handed me a coupon for 2 free car washes. Then I was lucky enough to have Steven the manager stop me on my way out. He was kind enough to offer to pay for a replacement. He even offered to go to the dealership to get the new windshield wipers for me and pay for them after hours. I ended up going and getting the wipers but he called the dealership before I got there to let them know I was coming and to provide me with the Autobell discount. So when I pulled up to the detailer I pulled the seats forward so they could see the trash. They pushed the seats back and vacuumed around it and pushed the seat back in place. I have phobias and one of my main phobias is riding through car washes. I have used Autobell all my life until the pandemic. I went to Autobell last week and they charged me $3.00 to not ride through the car wash. I couldn't believe it. When I got home, I contacted corporate and asked if this was true. Customer service didn't know the answer, so she researched it and responded, YES! I asked what type of logic was this? She was told that one of the attendants had to ride through for me. How damn ridiculous that sounds. Before covid every car went through that same car wash without an attendant. The attendant got in at the end of the car wash. Hell, I could have walked around the building and got in at the end of the car wash just like the attendants use to do. This doesn't make any sense and I feel it is price gouging in the worst of ways. I know I'm not the only with this type of phobia, but no one should take advantage of another person. The more I think about it I get pissed! When I think about how I have always been a $5 and $10 tipper - never again, at least not at AUTOBELL! Autobell has gone down hill fast. Used to be the best place to go in town. Sad to say I'll never go back and waste my money there again. Management is non-existent, no quality check like there used to be, and even the facilities are looking run down. If they cant find the staff to operate then they should go to the self-serve interior cleaning model like their competitors. I paid $7.00 additional to have them wash my rubber floor mats. They didn't even dry them off before they sent me on my way. They didn't wipe the dash down either. $40 ($45 with tip) bucks for the privilege of driving through a car wash. Crazy! Took my 2013 Subaru Outback through the Auto Bell in Indian Trail, NC. The rotating brushes snapped my passenger side rear view mirror off at the base. The manager stated Auto Bell was not responsible because there were scratches on the mirror housing, so it was obviously previously weakened. Well, here's some things to think about Auto Bell: 1 - the scratches were on the snap on the cosmetic cover, which are not part of the mirror mount. 2 - the scratches were on the front to the mirror while the brushes rotated in a manner so that they folded the mirror from the back in the opposite direction. (They are designed to fold back when pressure is applied to the front, but NOT in the opposite direction). 3 - The manager gave me a name and phone number of a regional manager if I wanted to elevate my complaint - the number does not ring through, and there is no voice mail set up. I paid for my mirror out of pocket. So, for the cost of about three car washes, Auto Bell insured that I would never again take any of my three vehicles to their business, and I will make sure I share this experience with anyone I meet if the subject of car maintenance comes up. My hubby and I just moved to the Charlotte area just a few weeks ago, so I had no idea which car washes were actually good in the area. I'm an Uber driver, so I HAVE to have a clean car and some car washes tend to rush through the vacuuming portion of the wash. This Autobell location was closest to my house so I figured I'd give them a try and I'm SO glad I did!!! Everybody was so friendly (The young man who took my order and explained each service to me was so sweet.) And I also noticed that the manager wasn't just standing around "supervising" lol. He was actually jumping in and working just as hard as the rest of his staff, which was really impressive. And then there's Jake.... When I say that Jake cleaned my car, he CLEANED my car! He walked around the car to make sure he didn't miss anything, he cleaned the inside of the car SO much more thoroughly than ANYONE else has. I had my car washed (exterior and interior), then drove to my apartment less than 5 min away. As soon as I entered the parking garage I realized that my parking tag was no longer sitting on my dash, where I always keep it displayed. I did a quick search throughout the car , then drove back to Autobell to ask them to help me look for the pass that was still missing. The person who dried my car told me that he remembered the tag being on the dash before he started cleaning the interior. He even described what it looked like! After a series of back and forth phone calls the following week (where they told me they'd take care of it), Autobell decided the tag was considered a valuable item and thus they won't reimburse or compensate me for the item despite the guy admitting he misplaced it! This was my first time going to Autobell and will definitely be my last. I paid 35.00 for a horrible job and horrible people. This guy told me to pull up VERY close this this vehicle in front of me and told me to put it in neutral, (Which i did) As i am going thru i can see nothing then bump. I hit the car in front of me. The next thing i did was put my foot on the brakes and in drive to control my own car. The guys is yelling and acting a fool like i did something wrong. They all cuddle up talking about me and go to the guy that was in front of me and say nothing to me. Rather they want to admit or not they were in the wrong. Had us bumper to bumper in the first place. He then comes to my car and yelled i had my car in drive. I told him i did not have my car in drive, i put it in drive AFTER the car in front of me was hit. Had they not had us soooo close together that would not have happened in the first place. Then him and the other guys talking mess and lying. Told the guy i had my car in drive to save there own butts. I went to the guy and apologized and told him what happened regardless of what they LIED and told him. Neither of our cars were damaged but my car was flithy like it never was clean. On top of that my car have scratches i have never had until there. I don't even drive my car much and NEVER been in any accident in my life. My car is a 2016 and i only have 15k miles on it that tells you i don't drive it much. I don't want to even talk about the inside. They never cleaned the cup holder. I put gum wrappers there on purpose and they were still there. I am thinking my car is clean and it wasn't for the money i paid. i am very upset. Aside from the fact that it always seems to rain the day after I Autobell my car (yes i just used the business name as a verb).... This Autobell is just a-okay in my book. They are now sandwiched in their location between a new Camden apartment building and the Pharmacy next door. Camden has also placed their nice pet area right there near the Autobell so I was greeted by some in-your-face smells.... At first I thought it was my car (since I had not washed her in a while) but after some looking around, I could only pin-point it to that... Also a lot of construction in SouthEnd is kicking up soil, etc so not the greatest of smells. Anyways I pulled up on a Tuesday evening around dinner time. The place was not busy at all, however I did have to wait for this dude in his Masarati get his act together. That's why they have spaces to "organize your car" first and then get in line.... but I guess I felt silly in a Prius demanding attention away from the way more expensive car. Besides the slight car discrimination I experienced, my car got clean and I was out in a reasonable amount of time. I think the other times I've tried to autobell here on the weekends they have just been way too busy... they don't have all that much space to begin with so those poor guys are running around like crazy trying to move the vehicles and do a nice job in the hot hot sun. read more

Having recently moved to Charlotte, using express or factory line style car washes is pretty common. Now having the option for a brushless or hand car wash I feel a bit spoiled. I was in a rush so decided on this quick method knowing it wouldn't be extremely clean. The initial pick a package the attendant was very nice and straight to the point but still courteous. I went with the basics wash the outside, vacuum and polish the tires. As I expected, the car wasn't very clean on the outside. I stay near a building under construction so there is tons of dust on the car practically everyday. Of course the bird droppings which I could still see resemblances of both after the wash. I didn't bother to have them touch up those spots, time was an issue. The windows were done to my satisfaction but the one thing I expected to be done well was the vacuuming. There were clear spots where they completely didn't try or rushed through. Anyway it's an express car wash so I don't expect perfection based on my experience. Just a mental note to self. read more

The only thing about this location I'm not very fond of is the lack of property. I mean when it's packed the parking lot can be a little tricky to navigate.
