Worst customer service I've ever seen . Brought my car to get appraised , asked for me to hand my keys over & took my car for a joy ride without even saying another word , without informing me they'd be driving it or even taking it out of the parking lot onto main road , the entrance and exit is terrible with a bump and the dude floored it out there hitting my exhaust on the bump on exit and entrance . Would have been totally fine if I would have been informed or even asked to join along on this joy ride he took with my car around the block . Recently brought my dying friends vehicle for their appraisal. They gave me a price, and I said I have to discuss it with the owner. I asked how long the offer was good to. The salesman said tomorrow at noon. We shook hands. Late in the afternoon that day we called to see what paperwork they needed from us. It was then that the salesman said if we can't get there before they closed that day, the agreed price was off the table. If I could review no stars or half a star, I WOULD. These people quoted me after inspecting the photos which show the wear and tear of the vehicle. I waited an hour for them to figure everything out, meanwhile they removed the tag they didn't inspect the vehicle, which technically isn't my fault. They sent me on my way with a check which I negotiated for before I even arrived. The setup was easy --I went to http://wepaythemax.com/ and set up an appointment easily which they called and confirmed shortly thereafter. When I rolled in they were expeditious and very friendly. I waited in the lounge room with fresh coffee ( woohoo) which is pretty plain but you aren't there long. Then they take you in a room and share the outcome. They told me that my carmax offer was very good and I should consider taking it. They usually do beat the offers but in this case they were not able to. I appreciated the honesty and took their advice! While I didn't sell my car to them, it was worth the time and I appreciated the customer service. To gain another star, need I say? How do I rate a place like Autobuy. Ultimately all I really care about is who will pay me the most for our vehicle. In that case it's 5 star as they gave us the most money compared to the other big car buying places around. In a far second place is how easy it is to sell it. I don't like wasting my time. At some places they will say one thing on the phone then you show up and they try to change it etc etc. In this case while the staff was friendly and overall it was an easy experience there were a few hiccups for which I had to deduct a star. When we first went there they gave us a price but never gave us anything in writing. We went home to think about it over the weekend and on Monday decided to go ahead and sell it. Of course now no one knew anything about the quote and the person we dealt with wasn't there. Anyways it was ultimately figured out and we got the price we were quoted. Just a bit of a hassle. Also we went on the road for a few months after selling it and when we got back we found my girlfriends license had been suspended (she owned the car). After investigating it seems it had been suspended because she did not have insurance on the vehicle... the vehicle she sold to Autobuy. Now I'm not sure who's fault this is, if Autobuy did not report the sale properly or the DMV just messed up, but we've never had that happen before with any of the vehicles we have sold. read more
