Things you should know about AUTOBUY before being miss lead by radio ads.... 1. They are not as transparent as you would have been lead to believe. Unlike Carmax who inspect your car and give you their BEST offer out right. Autobuy low balls you and has you try to negotiate the best value on your car through a sales man to someone on their phone. Seriously?!? Autobuy, would rather you have a written offer from Carmax so that they can offer you $20.00 more. Your time is better spent selling your car to Carmax instead of driving around town and then haggling the minor details as to why Autobuy is offering less from the get go. Catfish!! 2. They claim the pay you on the spot. They do but the check they say "has no hold" actually does. It has a seven day hold! Meaning you walk away "or Uber" having sold your car but your not getting paid for another week. WTF! Unfortunately I learned this the hard way and would have never put myself through this experience with Autobuy had I read a similar reviews. Bottom line Carmax your car unless you need the extra 20.00 in a weeks time. read more

By far one of the best experiences selling a car. Niki and her team have helped me solve an issue preventing me from selling my car in less than 24hrs. When I tell you this woman heard my about my problem and text me "sit back I'll handle this" after assembling her team of what I can assume were the New Avengers in less than a day after dealing with it literally for months was nothing short of amazing. This place was the most horrible experience I have ever had selling a car. What they offered me was 1/3 the price that I received from Carmax. To give you a little background info, this place advertised on the radio about how " we pay the max" and speaks of special methods to evaluate and pay higher. If this was not bad enough, they actually was warning light that I have never seen in all the years I owned my car that was triggered after they took my car in the back for " inspection" I feel that autobuy has intentionally sabotage my car in order to justify a lower price. They also told me that I would be the victim of violence if I tried to sell the car myself. They really wasted my time and broke my car as a result. These guys are very dishonest and I hope some news channel does an undercover investigation of them. Even for this industry, these guys are the worst. read more

I sold a car at autobuy, Stuart fl last month. I was pretty happy with the sale. I made an appt, came in, and the inspector went over the car, and test drove it. gave me a check, and we did a title transfer (at my expense). all in, it was fairly painless. I would have liked more $ for the car, but it is what it is. I agreed to the price and the paperwork was completed. probably 2 hours total time spent. -seems like a lot, but a hour of that was paperwork. I would recommend them. read more

Spoke to Miguel specifically at auto buy. He treats the process like a used car salesman. I originally went to Carmax and had a professional experience and got an offer within 10 minutes. "We pay the max" who does business as auto buy took about 4 day and offered about 10 k less than Carmax. When confronted with this realization. He mentioned that they can beat that price. Why not have an upfront conversation immediately? especially when there is so much information available online. These guys are not reputable AND no better than the typical moniker of the used car salesman. They treat the purchases as if they are purchasing at auction or a novice buyer. read more

I'm a young woman with a fair conditioned car. Chevy Sonic 2012 under 100k miles and no issues what so ever besides the paint. My KBB value was 4-5k so i was expecting to be offered AT LEAST 2500$ at this establishment. That's being extremely fair on both ends. "Al" did not treat me like any other worthy customer and did not take me into a separate office to talk about my appraisal as they do with people who have more expensive cars, instead he spouted all my information in the lobby for all to hear. Al appraised my car at $1000 and when i asked how or why such a low price, he said "to start it needs a complete paint job". I don't know of any paint job costing more than 700$ for my car... He refused to elaborate any more and told me to go to WeBuyAnyCar and that he promised me that their offer would be even lower. Take my advice and go see Mason at WeBuyAnyCar in West Palm Beach. He was out of this world polite and kind, and went through the entire vehicle with me to explain his appraisal and why. I left there with a check for 2900$ with my head held high knowing now that AL was completely disrespectful to me. Not only did he lowball me to an insulting number after telling me the motor, transmission, and body were all in great condition, but he didn't even have the gumption or decency to explain. I clearly was not worth his time. So just so you know, AutoBuy does NOT pay the max lol. They will most likely comment on my post to defend themselves and deflect accountability but thats okay. Don't fall for the gift card scams!!!!! I recently posted a nice review about auto buy, and I did mean what I said and gave them a good review. However, they explained that if I came on here and posted a review I would receive a 25 gift card. I received a gift card from Walmart that said store credit on it, so I drive out of my way to Walmart to use it because I usually don't go there just to find out at the checkout counter that I only received a 5 dollar gift card. This was an awful experience, the staff was rude and the place looked shady. I went to CarMax a couple hours prior to the visit at Autobuy (glad I did). The price came in a little lower than I was expecting so I decided to look into further places to obtain more input and considered a better offer. I made an appointment, they checked my car out and came up with an offer that was RIDICULOUSLY $2,000 less than Car Max offer. The salesman also stated that there was a requirement of approximated $89 fee to fulfill the sale. I showed the Car Max offer and said they would beat it by at least $200. Taking into consideration the fee plus the transportation (they don't cover UBER) would be only $100 more and doing business with what appeared to be a shady place. Then he began to argue again with us stating that "We were going to throw away $200 to trash" This was the breakup point for me, he was treating me like this transaction was actually a "favor". This is not the proper way to treat a client. I would rather spare the extra $100, and make a deal with someone who treats me with respect. So the final decision was to be on hold and will provide an answer by the end of the weekend. One day after the appraisal, I received a call by the same salesman, reflecting the same attitude towards the money, pointing out my decision to "throw away $200". They really need to start to value the customer in a proper way with proper manners, this was a waste of time to us and would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

These people are a scam. Went in with my 2013 Impala in great condition and they offered me $4,700. Then I went to car max and sold it for $8,000. Everyone I told this to couldn't believe the difference. Autobuy guy told me it was because the market was saturated with Impalas. Blue book is $6,100 to $7,400. When I bought my new truck they even offered me $7,100. Maybe if I had brought in a CarMax quote they would have done better but I doubt it. He treated me like it was a joke that I expected more. We pay the max? 5 star google rated? Absolutely not. Took my vehicle in for an appraisal on 3.18.2020. Receptionist was very friendly as was Miguel who took my vehicle on a test drive. I'm in the car business and already received another appraisal but I had a couple of co-workers recommend AUTOBUY. After awhile, Miguel met with me and gave me an offer of $5,500. What? The car is a one owner, low mileage, hard top convertible with every option and leather seats. No damage except for some buffing needed on a couple of scratches (see appraisal). He then said we really want to buy your car (clean and free title in my possession). What's your bottom number. I told him $9,000. After he said I'll see what my manager can do, he returned and said Oh, we didn't realize your vehicle is the Volvo C70 T5 Platinum series. How do you not know this after copying my registration and having the VIN number? He came back and said $7,000 was the best they could do. And then he mentioned how he knows I work for a large dealership locally. I said how? I never told you where I worked. He said oh, we're both in the same business. (After I left, my paperwork from when I purchased the vehicle was on the passenger seat! So he went through my glove box and snooped!). I showed him the appraisal I received from another place and he wanted to know what place. I said I don't need to give you that info but here it is on my phone. Well, 7k was the best they could do. I immediately went to AutoNation and received $10,000 after just a 45 min wait. No hassle. Professional staff. AUTOBUY you don't pay the max and went through my glove box without my permission.
