Our Control 4 system was installed over 5 years ago by Best Buy Geek Squad. I needed to get a new remote and stopped in to ask them about getting a new remote. I was told that they no longer carry or even service Control4 and suggested I get a new system they were offering. I thought I was out in the cold until I found Automated Environments. I was having difficulty with the system and did an online chat with Automated Environments who called me back within a couple hours. Kevin was familiar with Control4 and diagnosed the problem. An appointment was made three days later. Kevin is very knowledgeable and was able to solve the problem and reassured me that Control4 is not outdated and they would be able to assist in the future. We had an extensive audio/video, security, and whole-house control system in our AZ home, but do not live here full-time, so remote access and control of security was as important as full use of our Kaleidescape movie server when here. Plus, we needed to upgrade the older plasma TVs with component inputs to 4K, thinner, lighter, bigger TVs with HDMI inputs, streaming services, and retain full control, security, and remote access with an easier system my wife could use. I know, that's like asking for on/off/channel, yet still wanting music on XM and Pandora, TV on NETFLIX, Hulu and Paramount, and movies on Kaleidescape and Prime. Not so easy! But Jason, Paul, Steve, and Chris made it happen! Everything works great, looks super, and they were responsive like you wouldn't believe! The boss himself went above and beyond to get us up to speed with our new system, and my wife can use it all! I have long-distance security, cameras, environment control, and have a system that won't require 4 pages of laminated instructions for our kids and guests! I am not usually a person whom writes reviews but I know that when I do not know a particular place I will read them. That is why I figured my experience is much needed to be added here. I was told by BEAM/ Electralux to contact a different certified dealer to get warranty work performed on my central vac system after a horrible experience with that company (YES, I WROTE A REVIEW ON THAT COMPANY), I called back to find other dealers and I was finally given this company. I was told by the other company that my problem was not covered under warranty and they wanted to charge me $330. I wasn't about to spend $330 more dollars on this central vac system, I was ready to ship the P.O.S back to BEAM and tell them they can have their crappy system back. I figured one more place could help me out to decide what to do. I took the power head and hose in to Automated Environments, and 2 days later they called to tell me it was an electrical issue and I would only be charged $26 to have it fixed. Wow...first of all they didn't jerk me around, they called me back, and they were honest. What else could a customer want? I was more than satisfied with this company and I will be back to purchase other products from them. This central vac was obviously not their biggest priority and they didn't make any money, but they made a happy customer that will return and totally recommend them. I reached out to Automated Environments when I was totally screwed by one of their competitors time and time again. Kevin came to my house and listened to what I was looking for and gave me an estimate based on his recommendations. Before I had even signed a contract with him, I asked him for some help with pricing on a new Control4 remote control because my kids had done something with my old one. The "competitor" who had installed my initial system, to the tune of over $20,000, told me it was $200....Kevin said, "let me see if I can 'ring' your remote." Sure enough he logs in and makes my remote control "beep" and I find it hiding in the couch...just like that he saved me from buying a new $200 remote. The competitor, who had already collected over $20k from me, never even mentioned that we could do that. After I signed the contract, Kevin sent Gary out to do the work. Gary went above an beyond and got everything up and running just as promised and even cleaned up a little of the "untidy mess" the competitor had left. I would absolutely recommend AE and their people...top notch! I don't know if I'm allowed to say the name of the competitor, but I'll tell you they're in the DESERT, and they're in the VALLEY, and they do AUDIO VIDEO....if you ever come across them RUN! read more
