I would absolutely give this place a ZERO star rating if possible. They sold us a car that was missing catalytic converts among other problems. We live in Tennessee and had the car shipped. As soon as it hit our driveway it started leaking oil. We eventually had it shipped back and received our deposit. This didn't happen until I contacted an attorney to get him involved. Omar Qureshi, in my personal opinion, is the master of scams. That is, until he had to deal with me. He has done the same thing to another person who bought the same kind of car on the same day we did. Except, this time, the engine blew after a few days and these sorry... I bought a $20,000 car from Atlanta Automax on Sept 2 from Automax Atlanta. Ramzi was nice and everything felt smooth. The car was for my wife, so she started driving it. I hadn't really been in the car much, then on Oct. 3, we went to the DDS. While driving, I noticed a sound in the back right wheel well. I had to go on a work trip so on Oct 9 my wife went to our local mechanic to check out the car. Turns out the brake pads on all four tires were worn out, and there was rusting on the back right wheel well that was causing the noise. Our trusted mechanic did the fixes for way under market rate, costing a little over $500. I was surprised the brake pads were worn and was worried what else might need to be fixed, so I called Automax. I explained I had bought a car from them and was transferred to the manager, Tony. With Tony, I explained I was not looking for any payment I just wanted to know what had been inspected on the car prior to my purchasing. I asked if the cars are inspected prior to selling and he said "yes." I think asked if he could send the inspection report and he started getting hostile. "This is more than 30 days, why are you calling me." (It had been 38 days) I responded by saying, "Tony, I am not asking for any money and realize it is more than 30 days, can you please just send me the inspection report so I know what else I need to check out." He responded by "I am not having this conversation." and hung up on me. I called back and asked for someone else and calmly explained the situation. I asked this person if the cars are inspected prior to sale and was told: "I am not sure, they might be." I asked if he could check, he said he would and would call me back. He never did. THEY DO NOT INSPECT THE CARS PRIOR TO PURCHASE. ONCE YOU ARE OFF THE LOT, THEY TREAT YOU LIKE THE ENEMY. Do not buy from them, or if you do insist that they take the car to your mechanic, get an inspection on Automax's dime, and only if you are satisfied, buy the car from them, with caution. When I drove my new (used) car off their lot, I was ready to give Automax 5 stars. Salesperson was fantastic, buying experience was seemingly good. But read other reviews and also see the tone and words used by Automax employees who respond to bad reviews here. No business sense. No integrity. The sales staff work hard to sell and then the owners/managers treat customers very badly and lie and ruin the experience. In short, I was told that certain accessories were included with my car. I was shown these accessories. I asked for an additional accessory and it was tossed into my trunk as I watched and written into my paperwork. While I was signing paperwork, these accessories were removed and I didn't realize until I got home. Automax salespeople emailed back and promised to send them, acknowledged their mistake, but owner refused to make it right...it's been 2+ months, lots of txts and emails and lies and promises and more lies. This could've been a 5 star review...I could've been a repeat customer...I could've recommended Automax to all of my friends...but the Automax owners/managers have zero people skills, zero business sense, and accuse all their upset customers of lying (gaslighting). And, I understand some of the frustration of other customers who took the time to write a review - But, the car buying experience is almost always frustrating. That's just a fact of life. And, I understand this isn't a BMW dealership, or even Carmax for that matter. Most of these cars are probably bought at auction, and these cats hustling to get wheels off the lot, are hoping for the best too. I do not believe, in most cases, they are intentionally pushing bad cars on good people. That being said, my experience at Automax Atlanta today was nothing short of pleasant and stress free. Clincy was outstanding to work with! Mark, on the sale/finance side, worked with me to get me the price I really needed. The blonde lady handling the final paperwork, who's name slips my mind, was absolutely delightful and knowledgeable. The guys in the shop handled some minor concerns on the spot. And, Hilary was happy to help Clincy & I get my car home AND take it to get emissions done. In fact, I walked into the dealership at 5:00 and my car was in my driveway by 7:00 tonight thanks to all of them! Bottom line, my family is in a tight spot right now. I didn't need this to be an ordeal. And, it wasn't. In fact, I had a half-dozen dealerships & dozens of cars lined up to waste a Saturday looking at. But, I decided not to, and leaned into Automax. Automax came through for me today. But, if some of the problems others have mentioned fall through the cracks regarding tags, title & such, I will be sure to update this review, if its actually the fault of Automax. I only have had my vehicle for a month and half now and so far besides getting the oil done cause it was completely black I also had the filters changed. I am not really upset about that but I had to replace the back tires on the vehicle and thus far my ABS, Air bag and tire pressure sensor are on. I just had the starter replaced cause the car totally went dead while in traffic and now luckily I was at my sister house the same thing just occurred my car once again loss power battery is new but there's this clicking sound and we notice the noise is coming from the fuse box, so I will be having the car towed back to the mechanic and see what this issue is. Automax to me is a very low budget car dealership who tells you anything to sell a call. I purchased a 2017 Porsche Macan over a month ago and purchased it unseen since I live in Charlotte. I worked with Shawn and Lionel. I was told that the price listed on Cargurus would be honored which was about $1500 less than what was marketed on their site. When I received the financing docs they priced it at their listing price. When I asked about this Lionel told me that it was because of a LoJack that was placed on the car and blah blah blah. I knew it was crap but I did not complain because he worked to get me a better rate than I qualified for. When the car was delivered to me it had foggy headlights which I was not aware of from the photos, and all 4 of the tires were dry rotted badly. I called Lionel and tried to get the tire situation rectified given it looked like they could blow out any minute. He admitted to the tires being in bad shape but did not think they should be responsible for replacing them. He then said hey let me make a phone call and see what I can do for you. He never called back and everytime I called him his phone went to voicemail. When I finally got a hold to him his stated he was on a call and would give me a call right back. Here we are a week later and still no call from Lionel. This is the WORST car dealership I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Three weeks after I bought the car, it had to be towed to a mechanic. They agreed to replace the rear right wheel bearing on my car. So they gave me a car (that was a piece of ##@&) to give me something to drive until they fixed my car that I had already paid for. Nice, right? 1 1/2 months later they still had not fixed my car and I was still driving in a car that wreaked of pot. When we asked about the car's progress, they said that there was a crack in the engine block and that they would need $800 to fix it. Let that soak in. A new engine block is 3,500 to 4,500 dollars. Atlanta AutoMax was just trying to squeeze more money out of me because they are unethical. Don't trust these guys. Find another dealership. You will regret it if you don't. P.S. Liars who strung me along regarding getting me the paint for chips and scratches on the car and they also delivered my car with the gas tank completely on empty. That's just rude. I had filled up my trade in for them as a courtesy. I've bought about 10 cars in my lifetime and never had one delivered to me on empty. Chad the manager at Automax Atlanta in Lilburn GA has NO integrity , no morals, no certified mechanic on site and zero customer service skills. He sold my college aged Son a used car with limited warranty but said they would fix the catalytic converter after check engine light came on the day we drove off the lot. They "fixed" it alright, after the check engine light continued to stay on, took to an offsite certified mechanic who stated it would cost 3500$ bucks to fix it right after Automax 'mechanic' butchered the engine. put in a faulty used catalytic converter, now it shows melted wires, a destroyed heat shield, damaged AC and many other destroyed engine components. I am so mad and upset and cannot believe how they took advantage of my Son and stole his hard earned money. I don't know how Chad the 'manager' sleeps at night!! We purchased a car from them in 2015 and our experience pretty much mirrored all the other 1 star reviews. Omar was the Sales Rep and he's an arrogant %#@! I told my husband I wouldn't have ever purchased a car from him personally, but he liked the car a lot so we did. The place is a complete dump and I should have pressed my husband harder to walk away but I couldn't dare break his heart. Here's what made me write this review 2 years later. It's now May 2017 and my husband wants a different car so we were going to trade the car we purchased from AutoMax in. To our surprise, the dealer presented us with a Carfax that showed that our vehicle had been in an accident, had structural damage, and there were 2 previous owners! Get this...The Carfax they presented to us showed a "clean" record, no accidents, and 1 previous owner. THEY FALSIFIED THE RECORDS!!! This car is now significantly de-valued and we cannot get what we thought the car was worth. SUCH SCAM ARTISTS!!! AutoMax you have screwed with the wrong people. These guys are slimy. If I could give them zero, that is my rating. I bought a 2013 Audi S5 sight unseen for remote delivery. They sold me a warranty for $1000 that they never paid the premium on. After 2 weeks and check by my mechanic for bad control arms, I got really belligerent with them. They also gave me an inspection report that said the Continental tires had better than 7/32 tread depth. New is 9/32 and the wear bars are at 2/32. What they delivered was a car with front tires less than 3/32 and rear tires less than 2/32. When I finally spoke with Omar, the GM after dozens of calls and promises that were never fulfilled by sales manager Lionel Amachee, he agreed to pay for the warranty, and refused to compensate for the tires. When I asked how he could take that position when I have irrefutable evidence that they misrepresented the condition of the tires, he said "Because I don't like your tone." What an asshole. He even had the nerve to say I got a great deal on the car when I paid the asking price which is one of the most expensive ones on the net! Next step, small claims court. All the positive reviews are the car deals that didn't go sideways. With all the BS I have endured so far, it will not surprise me if on Monday, I find out the premium has in fact not been paid. We spoke to the receptionist, we were paired with Arif we corresponded with through text several times. We were specific on which vehicle we were interested in. We made an appointment to see the vehicle. We drive over 2.5 hours only to have Arif show up late with no regard to our time. (Mind you I took off work so that we could be on time.) Once he finally shows up he informed us that the one vehicle we wanted to see was a flooded vehicle and most likely wouldn't be financed. The appointment was downhill from there. Be honest and upfront with people. If you're not truthful and trustworthy with one vehicle, why would I trust you to sell me another. The lot we went to was on Lawrenceville Hwy. The car seems to be OK but the warranty they pushed was from an outfit named Fortegra that has a lousy rating, 1.5 out of 5. So this crappy outfit named Automax is pushing a warranty plan that they very likely know is garbage. The sales manager for the lot seems to know nothing about how the actual business works, failing to include document fees and title fees on the original bill of sale. They after the sale of course were eager for us to make up for their mistake. My guess is a lot of the good ratings for this organization are from paid posters. I bought a 2020 ZL1 Chevrolet Camaro from Automax Atlanta on April 14, 2021.  The car had a minor repair (Front wheel liner torn) when I bought it.  I bought the replacement part from Chevrolet and made an appointment at a Chevrolet dealership to install the part.  I took the car to them on Monday May 10, 2021 and they took the car in the back to make the repair.  The service technician informed me that the car had major front end damage/repairs and they could not touch the car. The parts used to repair it weren't Chevrolet parts either. I contacted Automax Atlanta right away and informed them of what I was told and questioned why they didn't tell me the car had major front end damage/repairs.  The Manager I spoke to beat around the bush and kept saying he was looking for the car fax. I told him I wanted my full $18,300 down payment back plus the cost of repair parts.  I was informed that the other manager would call me back and I haven't heard from them at all and that was on May 10, 2021. terrible experience The service fee 599, car is 9755, final 11250. The charge is really high. \1st There is no any problem before I purchased the car. My friend came with me, and the test drive is fine. I decided to buy this car cause it's price is fair in fact. There is one obvious dent in the back of the car. My friend argued with them and the manager agreed to fix it and give a set of wheel lock. At that time the manager didn't have lock in stock. So the manager said he can make 50 bucks discount for this (maybe it's a little higher for a wheel lock but this is what the manager said). Manny said he will give his wheel lock to me. To keep the car, they said you have to make a $1000 deposit first(I would recommend never give them deposit). I signed the check and waited for 2 days before the car was fixed. \2nd I picked up the car on Saturday cause Manny said he won't work on Sunday. So I uber to their place, they gave me the car and I paid them the left money with a check. The car looked good in appearance. As my friend told me, I asked whether they gave me a spare wheel and a jack. Manny opened the trunk and showed me the spare wheel and jack. And Manny gave me the wheel lock from his car. In the way back to home, I found there was only ONE-TENTH gas in this car, and I had to stop to fill it cause I didn't have enough fuel to go back the dealer place or home. After I was back at home, my friend helped me to assemble the wheel lock, however, the wheel lock isn't for my car model(Manny didn't check the car before he gave it to me). I also lacked a wrench for corolla bolts and a lever for the jack. \3rd time So I went back to the dealer place and argued with them. Manny gave me the lever and wrench and said the car didn't come with those tools(Some dealer do doesn't give their customers jack, so you may judge by yourself whether this is a mistake of this dealer). For the empty gas tank problem, they filled the car tank full(They only to pay about 7 gallons cause my car already had half full at that time). For the lock problem, the manager said I have to buy it from an auto place and show him the receipt otherwise they won't pay me. \4th time Manny called me and said my check didn't work and asked for a certificated check. I went to the bank to check why it happens. The staff said the reason is the signature doesn't match. And after he saw my signature in the check, he said he would think it's ok and pass this check. But anyway I pay $15 for a cashier check. After I went back to the dealer place. The boss of this place, a very mean woman, said I have to pay the $35 fee for check bounce with a very aggressive tone. I was pretty angry at that time and I said I won't pay that money because it's not my fault and I already paid for the certificated check. The boss threated me that the processing of title will delay if I won't pay it. I insisted on my point that I won't pay the money. After 10 minutes dilemma, the manager said you can try to contact your bank and ask whether it is refundable. So I contacted the bank, and they said yes. In the past 15 minutes, no one told me that I should contact the bank and the only thing they wanted is me to pay the money ASAP. That how the boss treated their customer. So I pay the $35 fee for check bounce. I was angry about their attitude about this thing. I argued with the manager and ask him to pay me $40 for the wheel lock cause that's what you promised and I wouldn't want to be here for the fifth time(It causes me one and half hours to this place and back). The manager said no. I asked to see the boss, and he said okay. I waited for a long time and never saw the boss again. A guy of this dealer place(that is not related to this deal bought a lock for me from eBay at his own expense). I appreciate him cause I didn't want some fuck lock, what I need is respect. That night, when my friend checked the car, he found the coolant water is literally empty. I called Manny later, and he said it's the mechanic's fault. 5th\ two weeks since bought the car I found the windows wiper doesn't work, and because of the empty coolant issue, I was skeptical of a coolant leak in my car. So I called the manager. The black manager said they won't repair it anyway cause it's an as-is car. I went to AUTOMAX again to argue with them. They said for a courtesy they can check it for me. The service manager, Amber, roughly checked the car and said there is no leak. For the wiper problem, she said the pump engine is fine and the hose was blocked. She didn't want to repair for me. She said it's illegal to repair a sold car such bullshit. I told them when my friend bought a car having a serious problem, his dealer fixed it for free. She backed out of it and said only serious problems hindering safety they will fix after selling. I was pretty aggressive to her and said you must fix it for me. Then she promised to fix it for free. Let me tell you at the outset the customer service and sales staff is good in their personal capacity but god forbid if you get in a situation where you need cooperation from their top boss for their mistakes/mess ups, you will run out of luck and support, I promise.. I advise you to ask for an evidence/document/title of the car you purchase from Automax. It may happen that they do not have it or there are issues that need to be sorted out to transfer the title in your name. Once a car is sold, you are on your own even if it is not your mistake. I bought a car from Automax Atlanta about 2 months before. I did not get the title even after close to 2 months.. For some reason they did not have the title and therefore, tag office did not allow for the transfer. Closer to the first expiration, they reached out to me asking me to go the tag office and seek one more extension of the temporary license plate while they are getting 'some' documents sorted out. I cooperated and did as was suggested out of good-will. Since you can get only one extension on your temporary plate, I reached out asking do something about the title as it got closer to the second extension expiry and I had a lot of things planned that required me to have a drivable/legit car. The responses I got started getting unfriendly and unprofessional as it got closer to the second and last expiry. I asked if I can get a replacement or rental car expense reimbursed for the time I am not able to drive the purchased car due to Atlanta Automax's mistakes, ignorance and poor work ethic. I was needing a car badly due to my personal situation(s) (School, office, driving out side the state for booked vacation using car). I met with the top boss (Omar) and tried to explain my situation to get a commitment as to when he is going to get me the title and license plate?? I got no re-assurance, commitment nor any support (as simple as paying for rental car until he gets me the tag OR at least get me the tag, title and license plate before it expires for the final time). I had to leave messages with no return calls. I've called and left Shawn messages with no return call. When I finally was able to reach him, he wasn't exactly nice. I never received the 2 year maintenance plan. I asked for that info. Shawn told me I got it already. No, if I got it I wouldn't be calling for it. He was really rude when I asked why I didn't receive a call back. He stated I had his cell number. Yes he text me but I didn't keep the number. This place can suck a d**k!!! When arriving this place it wasn't what I expect but dont let that throw you off. My daughter and I went to look at a Ford Fusion Hybrid I found on Carfax.com. Shawn approached us and became our salesman. He was extremely nice. I let him know what I was looking for and he took me right to the car. He did not try to sell me anything other than the car I was looking at. After the test drive, I let him know I like the car but my husband needed to look at it. He said no big deal. Unfortunately, we weren't able to make it back to the dealership for 4 days. Shawn texted me once during this time and asked if I was still interested. (Other salesman would have called 100x). I told him we had something come up but try to get back. He said no problem take my time. I showed up with my husband. Shawn was again super nice. He took us on a test drive, explain some functions to my husband. They joked around for a minute and we sealed the deal. I couldn't have been more happier. Shawn was pleasant and so far we love the car. It's only been a few days so I will update this review if needed. Praying this car is reliable. Great service from Shawn. Called his cell phone and it was his day off, however, he was more than willing to meet me for ANOTHER test drive on the SAME CAR! He and D'Juan were very patient and best of all COMPLETELY UP FRONT on what could be done. I did all negotiating via text and phone and e-signed my documents in office. There was no pressure on me and I may have been at the dealership for 3 hours, including the time it took to clean and return the rental vehicle I was in. I've purchased at least 12 cars in 20 years and this was by far the BEST EXPERIENCE. Shawn was as excited for me getting my dream car as I was. Hard to find a car salesperson that actually cares about their client loving the vehicle for the long run that he / she sells. Be very careful of this dealership, don't be hasty to sign the AS IS form, don't believe what they say about their auto history check, you have to do your own research every step of the way, and do not believe a single word they say about the car's condition. Once you sign the AS IS form, they'll have power over you and you're basically finished. read more
