I've always said, when things are meant to be, everything falls into place without a hitch. Our experience with AutoMax was one of these experiences: It was time to trade in our 2004 Santa Fe. We had done research, been to 6-10 other dealership lots and test drove everything from a Chevy Equinox to a Lexus SUV and came back to the Santa Fe for its safety rating, features and warranty. All were important to us as we do not trade cars out every couple of years. We made the drive to AutoMax with a bit of reservation as we had been bombarded by salesmen on other dealership lots and weren't up for the salesman "dance" of haggling and waiting for the salesman to go and come back from their manager with the "best deal". (Who has time for that?) Turned out our experience was a complete 180 from what my husband and I have become accustomed to over the years. Ken Reilly was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, respectful and never pushy. When we decided on a model, I had reservations on whether another model with AWD would be a better fit for our needs. Ken, like the gem that he is, did not become exasperated, but rather brought the other car up and let us look at it more in depth. Turns out, it was not what we wanted and thanks to Ken taking the additional time with us, we bought the model we had been looking at in record time for a car sale. I do not typically write reviews; however, I strongly feel the word needs to get out about this dealership. I cannot say enough about the professionalism, knowledge base of the product and thoughtfulness Ken Reilly demonstrated. He is the reason we bought our new car. I also want to state a note of thanks to Abe who completed the financial side of the transaction. It was the smoothest and least anxiety ridden experience we had had in quite some time. Kudos to Abe as well! On a final note, after the purchase, Ken was right there to walk us through personalizing some features of our new car. He even assisted in transferring our belongings from our old Santa Fe to our new one and, ironically, as he is so knowledgeable about the product, he actually showed us a feature on our 2004 Santa Fe that we were never aware of since the time of purchase several years ago. The process of purchasing a new vehicle is one that I simply never look forward to. Finding the right car, dealing with the sales people, talking to the financial representative, and negotiating to get an acceptable price have nearly always resulted in a less-than-desirable result. Once many years ago I actually had a sales person tell me I was immature so I just got up and left. I guess he didn't like it when I did research before going to the dealership, so I had a pretty good idea of how much I should pay for what I wanted. The good news is that with Automax, it was just the opposite! Fortunately, it was a pleasant surprise to find out that dealing with Automax Hyundai in Del City was none of the above! Purchasing our Santa Fe from this dealership was actually an enjoyable experience. Each person we dealt with from the sales person, to the sales manager, to the financial individual, was knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and always courteous. When I first contacted them, I told them what I was looking for and the response was "yes, we have one that fits that description almost exactly". A short while later my wife and I went to take a look and they had the car I wanted RIGHT IN FRONT and waiting for us. As soon as I took the test drive, I knew this was the vehicle for me! During the negotiation process, (which turned out to be very short since the price they were offering I knew to already be a good one) the salesman & sales manager always remained pleasant to deal with. Additionally, I was so impressed that they were doing their best to ensure my wife & I were receiving every possible rebate including a military discount. What?!! I'm certainly not familiar with that kind of treatment. Needless to say, we purchased the vehicle and the next surprise was that even after the sale, Automax Hyundai continued to stay in contact and answer any questions we had to make certain we were happy. It goes without saying, of course, that when it comes time for our next purchase of a new vehicle, we will certainly be returning to this dealership. As a side note, after owning the Santa Fe for more than a month, my wife & I are extremely impressed with the quality of the vehicle and the continued contact and helpful advice from Hyundai Motor Corporation. I wrote a glowing review about buying our car here. It was all true. Then our brand new car died. The service department at Automax Del City, is awful!! We had to have our car towed to the dealership at 7:30pm. We contacted the dealership to let them know it was going to be there. At no point in the conversation, were we asked if we needed a ride, or a car. This car is our only vehicle, and if it weren't for my parents being in town, I am not sure what we would have done. We were 30 miles from the city on the side of a highway. So the next day we called them again. They said it was the starter and that it would be done the next day. We called the next day again, because we knew from what had happened, that it was more than the starter. Sure enough, it was a blown short block. It would another week at least. So I called again, mind you they didn't call us, we had to call them 90% of the time, and I asked about a loaner car or a rental. we had no transportation and we live 30 miles out of the city. After talking to the Service Department Manager, he begrudgingly said he would find us a car. We had to borrow a car to go into the city to get the loaner car. In the meantime my husband talked to the manager again and he didn't want to give us a loaner car, but my husband insisted. We go to pick it up and it is a tiny little car. We have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata for a reason. We have a family and need the space. We take the only thing they will give us and go. Oh and they gave us barely a quarter of a tank of gas. About two weeks later, we go get our car. I will say this. The Detail Department is AWESOME!! My car was sparkling!! Inside and out!! It was so nice to have my car back, and they even filled my tank. :) So, if you want a great place to buy a car or get it detailed, they are awesome, just don't have it worked on there! read more

I have experience dealing with their service department only! I brought my 2012 Sonata turbo in for some recall work. While doing that, they did they standard check of the whole vehicle to let me know what else they could fix while they were working on the car. They did find something in the steering column that had worn that was still under factory warranty that I did have them replace in addition to the recall work on the Turbo Feed line and some seat belt anchor issue. I scheduled my appointment 2-3 weeks in advance to give them and myself plenty of time to be prepared, called 2 hours before to make sure everything was spot on as far as my expectation with the work that was going to be done to my car. Dropped it off around 11:00 AM, got the courtesy call at 1:47 PM to let me know what they'd found on their standard vehicle check, received the call that my car was finished and ready for pick up at 3:43 PM. My scheduled slot was from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM so I'm satisfied that it was ready ahead of schedule. Overall good experience and would recommend the service department to anyone. read more

This is the 2nd vehicle I have purchased at this dealership, (a new Hyundai in 2006 then this one which was a slightly used 2013 model), and have nothing but good things to say about the staff there..I was walking around looking at the Pickups on the lot when I was approached by Cody who ask if there was anything he could help me with--(NO Pressure), just showed me the trucks and explained anything I ask him about..I had been to several other dealer by then (because I was looking for a truck, and Hyundai does not build one) and really wasn't expecting to find one at Automax..Was pleasantly surprised when I was driving by to see exactly what I was looking for..Cody got the keys--we test drove it, then talked about price, once again no pressure, I was given a excellent price with a very fair price on my trade in..Visited with Abe in finance and the whole deal was done and I was out the door in less than an hour..I would HIGHLY recommend this dealership to anyone looking in the OKC area... read more

Outstanding first service-experience at AutoMax Hyundai Del City. I scheduled on-line, and arrived early--no problems. Scott welcomed me and explained what was going to happen and then showed me where I could wait and have a cup of coffee. I chose to leave, returning 1 hour later. My car was just finishing up and Scott again greeted me and told me all I needed to know. Additionally, a new recall had just been released (map light bulb), and Scott had the mechanic take care of that on the spot. When I got back into my car I found it neat and clean, with no "mess" left by the mechanic (it happens). All in all--Great Job, AutoMax! read more

I only take my car to AutoMax Del City for service. I have never had a problem with this car dealer. I read some of the reviews and was surprised to read so much dissatisfaction. This is the second new car I bought from this dealership. I hope all goes as it has in the past when I get ready to buy the next new care. Reggie is a great salesman and the service department is wonderful. I took my car in for servingin one time and received a phone call from the service department apologizing for the job not done well and they fixed it at no charge or inconvenience to me. We purchased a used car over a year ago for our son, and like another customer did not receive the paperwork within 30 days. We contacted the sales person and was told the title had a lien in another state and to come in and get another paper tag for another 30 day period, which we did twice waiting for the paperwork to be received. This was the first time this had ever happened and was shocked when it did. They have been nothing but nice to us and our son at Automax of Midwest City. I went to a few Hyundai dealerships and I was often questioned by the sales managers: "How do you come up with such ridiculous price?". But I wasn't bluffed by them and finally bought a Santa Fe Sport from AutoMax Hyundai Del City at that "ridiculous price". The salesman Reggie is very nice and helpful.
