Unfortunately, my experience in 2024 was very different once I actually had to deal with their customer service team connected to Auto Finance LLC. The communication felt unprofessional, and there wasn't much effort to find a solution or work with me during a tough time. Instead, things escalated quickly toward legal action, which made an already stressful situation even worse. I understand businesses have policies and contracts to uphold, but how a company treats people during difficult moments says a lot. If you have other options available, I would strongly recommend exploring those first before going with this company.

Here are some things that took me by surprise due to my lack of preparation: a. Be aware that NU does not have a kiosk or counter at the airport. They do offer a shuttle back and forth, the lot is 10 mins away. b. NU is a franchise owned and operated by America Auto, which deals in independent car rentals and, among other things, buys/sells used autos and rents moving trucks. c. You're going to be driving a [clearly] used vehicle. The one I got was good enough for what I needed, but it was filthy dirty outside (I could barely see through the windshield when I first got in), and looked and smelled a bit musty on the inside. d. Your used vehicle is going to have nicks and dents - as the owner said "it's a used rental car, it's going to have wear and tear." Don't expect to impress anyone with what you get. e. You're not promised a full tank when you pick up the car - mine had 3/8ths of a tank. But you only have to put in as much gas as you use - if he gives it to you with 3/8ths of a tank, that's all it has to have when you return it. I drove my car for 4 days and only used $10 in gas. I'm not disappointed and I won't say anything negative about my experience - I would rent from this firm again knowing what I know now, but it's certainly not for everyone.
