DISASTER RELIEF VICTIM, COLLEGE GRAD IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND ABOUT 5 OTHER REBATES THAT NO ONE WILL QUALIFY FOR! I asked for the bottom line... how MUCH IS THIS CAR?? Needed to buy a car for my 16-year-old. We aren't made of money, so we had to buy used. Automax made the car buying experience frustrating and stressful. They would not negotiate on price, refused to fix safety issues on the car (hood latch was broken and hood would fly up at anything over 45 mph), and pressured us to buy immediately "because they have other buyers". Waited over 30 days for the title because they sold is a car to which they did not have a clear title. This further stressed us out because the paper (temporary) tag expires 30 days after purchase, and we could not get a permanent tag until we had the title. The state of Oklahoma penalizes the car owner if they do not tag the car before the paper tag expires -- lots of stress on this issue. Then, the car Automax Del City sold us left my 16-year-old kid STRANDED -- not once, but TWICE -- all within the first month of ownership! The first "stranding" was a simple flat tire. Not a big deal in itself, but there was no jack or lug wrench in the car!!! My kid had a spare tire, but no way to change the tire, leaving him stranded on the highway with cars flying past at 65+ mph! The second "stranding" was much more serious. The car was driving at about 60 mph when the car stopped moving. The engine would run fine, but the car would not go... After being stranded in the country for over an hour, we had to have the car towed 31 miles to a local dealership. Turned out to be a bad transmission, which DOUBLED THE PRICE OF THE CAR. I am certain Automax Hyundai knew the car had transmission problems. After talking with the transmission experts at Aamco, any reputable car dealer would have known the car had transmission problems -- all the signs were there. (We are not car experts, so we didn't know what to look for and made a mistake in trusting Automax Hyundai.) I would not recommend Automax Hyundai to anyone. Buyer beware! I bought a vehicle from AutoMax Del City, OK Hyundai dealership. MAY 2, 2022. I purchased 4 year warranty and engine for life warranty. It was a wrecked vehicle but the told me it has a clean title and it was never wrecked. The Airbags won't work. Radiator is busted, fuel pump is broken. I tried to return it, have it fixed at the dealership and the warranty wont cover because it was wrecked. The truck should have been totaled. I gave them the chance to do the right thing. Trying to get another vehicle and trade in my vehicle. They use to deal with customer and come down on their price. But I was told they don't do that anymore. Also in the past if they had to honor the price they listed on their internet sight and if sales person quoted you the same price they had to honor that. but I guess that is not true anymore either. the price list and quoted on a vehicle was about $2000. less than when I went to look at it. I questioned it and was told they found some issues that needed fixed so that increased the price. This was at Automax in Del City. so watch out if you go there. This is after going out there 3 times from Bethany to Del City stood up 2 times by a salesman that set the appointment to meet with me. I wish we had a better experience here. Unfortunately, this dealership, from the management to our salesman was dishonest and uncommunicative. Over Labor Day weekend, we made an appointment to see a vehicle, but the original key was locked in the sales department. We decided to go ahead and purchase the vehicle because it was what we were looking for. Because of the key situation, we were given a lower price by our salesman. However, when we went in to finance and sign papers they had added in extra costs and even charged us for a key. It took several rounds, but we finally got back down to the original price they told us. No apologies about trying to sneak in extra costs that we hadn't agreed upon. We were assured by our salesman Chris, and by his manager, Ryan, and by the man financing our deal that the original key would be sent to us. Unfortunately, I have been calling for the past 2 months to get the key sent, and no one returns my calls or can seem to give a straight answer about sending the key. My husband finally called today and talked with Tyler, who basically told him since we didn't have them write it out in our sales agreement they won't honor their word and send the key. This dealership has treated my phone calls rudely, misogynistically, and with a sense of dishonesty that is hard to believe. I have read a lot of negative review from this dealership but had to experience it for myself. It was all true and more from previous review. I've found 2019 RAM 2500 on line listed at $59,980. When I show up, they told me that the price is $69,980 due to the 'bells and whistles' come with the truck. I mention all the 'bells and whistles' was listed in the descriptions but why the $10K different. He changes his price but when they come back with negotiation, it was back to $69,980. I pointed out several time but nothing. I am guessing that they hope I don't catch it. Throughout all my years of buying cars, I have never seen a 'BAIT AND SWITCHED' like this before, and I thought this practice was illegal. This is the most dishonest, shiesty and lamest dealership that I have ever come across. I am amazed that they are still in business. I've been a repeat customer with Automax Hyundai at Del City. Repeat customers are well taken care of. Reggie sold me both of my cars. Also, be sure to take advantage of your military/veteran/retiree discount. Even if someone else is financing the car for you, and they're a veteran/military/retiree, be sure to ask about the discount. If you're upgrading to a new Hyundai from your old one, you also get a preferred customer discount. For an Elantra, I got $1000 discount in addition to my trade-in. As always, the service center's customer service is absolutely top notch. I've never had a problem with any of the staff. They will always suggest the best maintenance needs for your car, but it is ultimately your decision. And if, for example, they recommend three maintenance needs and you can only afford one that day, ask them which is the absolute priority, and they'll let you know. I once was in a situation where I had to pay part of my maintenance bill on a credit card and the other from my debit card, and they were nice about that and let me do it. I wouldn't abuse that privilege, but they will work with you. Very nice people. Of course, at the end of the day, they are salesmen so don't be surprised if a nice cheerful lady greets you in the waiting room while you're getting your car fixed and prints out information showing your eligibility for an upgrade to a new car. I smiled politely and said, "We'll see." But it seemed to work because a couple weeks later, I ended up buying a new car anyway. LOL. All the staff here are absolutely great. The ones who really get to know you ask how you're doing, your family. When you've been with them long enough, they remember you well. And you remember them, too. When their staff leaves, you ask, "Hey, whatever happened to so-and-so?" You kind of miss them when they're gone because you're so used to seeing them. The experience is definitely worthwhile. They do not own up to mistakes and the service manager can be very rude if called on it. My daughter bought a brand new car with 4 year warranty. She was told she could do her maintenance services at the AutoMax in our town. When she had them done, they made her pay for them. They said they weren't connected. When she called and asked to be reimburse, they basically said too bad so sad. She reminded them that they told her in front of her dad that she could and that the salesman even went and confirmed that she could, their response was oh well next time bring it here. read more

I wrote a glowing review about buying our car here. It was all true. Then our brand new car died. The service department at Automax Del City, is awful!! We had to have our car towed to the dealership at 7:30pm. We contacted the dealership to let them know it was going to be there. At no point in the conversation, were we asked if we needed a ride, or a car. This car is our only vehicle, and if it weren't for my parents being in town, I am not sure what we would have done. We were 30 miles from the city on the side of a highway. So the next day we called them again. They said it was the starter and that it would be done the next day. We called the next day again, because we knew from what had happened, that it was more than the starter. Sure enough, it was a blown short block. It would another week at least. So I called again, mind you they didn't call us, we had to call them 90% of the time, and I asked about a loaner car or a rental. we had no transportation and we live 30 miles out of the city. After talking to the Service Department Manager, he begrudgingly said he would find us a car. We had to borrow a car to go into the city to get the loaner car. In the meantime my husband talked to the manager again and he didn't want to give us a loaner car, but my husband insisted. We go to pick it up and it is a tiny little car. We have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata for a reason. We have a family and need the space. We take the only thing they will give us and go. Oh and they gave us barely a quarter of a tank of gas. About two weeks later, we go get our car. I will say this. The Detail Department is AWESOME!! My car was sparkling!! Inside and out!! It was so nice to have my car back, and they even filled my tank. :) So, if you want a great place to buy a car or get it detailed, they are awesome, just don't have it worked on there! read more

I would not buy a car from these guys. We found a car online that they had posted for $14,960 on www.automaxhyundai.net. So we called them to verify the car was there, then drove down there to look at the car. When we got inside I told them I would take the car at the listed price of $14,960. He made us stand there for about 10-15 minutes which was very strange. When he finally got back he told me the cost of the car was $16,960 plus the Proc/Doc Fee of $599.00 for a total of $17,559.00. They told me the listed price on their website was marked down $2000 and that money could only be used if you had a trade in. That was not listed on their website, and I was not told that on the phone or on the test drive. So the technical term for that is called bait and switch. They get you in the door then switch the deal. These guys are crooks and very dishonest. There are a lot of places in town to buy a car and I would recommend staying away from these crooks. read more

Me and my wife bought a used 2015 Dodge Journey SE from them back in 2017. We initially we told that we were approved and we were given an option between a 2015 Chevy Traverse or the Journey. Then we were told that we weren't approved for the Traverse and our only option was the Journey. We were told that we got approved for low APR of around 12-13%, we sign for the car, drive it off of the lot. Then we get a call 2-3 days later saying that we weren't approved and had to come back and sign papers and now the damn APR jumped to almost 21% and our monthly payments for the car went from $390-$465. They made felt as if we are obligated to resign because we already drove the car off of the lot and sign the papers previously. My wife was pissed because she didn't want that car at all. The Dealership manager or Owner came into the office and stated that if we pay on the car for 2 years we could come back and they would work with us getting into a brand new car. 2 years pass and me and my wife have been patiently waiting for the new Palisade to come out. We set ourselves up to be notified once it has hit the dealership for us to test drive and buy. We got a letter in the mail that we could come to any Hyundai dealer and test drive and also received a $50 gift card. Well we called AutoMax and set a date and time for us to come by. We went and test drove the Limited which was all they had on the lot and after running our damn credit again and paying on the Dodge Journey for 2 years they still wouldn't work with us not only that they never gave us our $50 gift card that we were promised. I regret buying a car from them, because now we are so upside down no one will work with us with using it as a trade in or even refinancing it. Imagine having a 2015 Dodge Journey SE with no features, no sunroof, 4 cylinder, no nothing and with over 80k miles and still owing a little under $16k and paying close to $500 a month on. You would be pissed off wouldn't you? Thanks a lot AutoMax because your deals aren't automatic, and you have made my car buying experience tragic. Got a co-signer, signed the paperwork and were told that they would overnight the papers to the co-signer and that we could take the car home once they received the paperwork. Two days passed and my co-signer still had not received the paperwork. Went back and asked the finance manager Abe if he had sent the paperwork and he said that he was off so he didn't know if it had been sent. I told him to give me the documents and that I would personally take the papers to TEXAS for them to sign. Drove 11 hours round trip just to have the docs signed and to take them back the next day just to be told that we needed to have a down payment. I told them i was done and walked out. Very shady dealership. Went down the street after walking out to ORR Nissan east, got approved and didn't even need a co-signer! read more

Quite a lousy customer experience so far! A week after the purchase, I am still waiting on them to fulfill their obligation to send the second key and documents after it goes through their Service department. A couple of other things: 1. Trying to contact their Finance department to figure out how I can set payments has not helped. Nobody has got back yet. It is as if they want me to miss a payment and then charge me for it. 2. They didn't provide the carpets for the driver and passenger at the time of sale and on reminding Khaled, my "friendly" salesperson, I've been asked to travel 200 miles back to get it. 3. The links on automated email asking for feedback doesn't work. 4. The "friendly" customer care reps are trained to lie straight up on trying to get to someone who can help - The person I talked to has left for the day, his manager is with a customer in less than a second of asking and to ask for their manager means putting one on hold. Called to inquire about a truck on their website that had no photos, but matched the description of what I was looking for. Asked them to text me some photos. The sales guy said he would grab the keys and send me photos asap. Never heard back from him. Called again the next day with the same request. Woman told me she couldn't get photos of the truck as it was "at the detail shop" and not on the lot, but they had some photos of it from when it got traded in. They were being really shady about when I could come see the truck. I asked for a carfax. From the carfax I could tell that they'd had possession of the truck for about 6 months and put over 5,000 miles on it. When I called this out and asked if someone had been using this as their personal vehicle, the sales lady told me that, yes, the CFO has been driving it. Hence why they couldn't really tell me when the car would be available to look at. Is this a big deal? Nope, not really. But from a quick 5 minute conversation, already caught them in a lie. After looking the other reviews, I'm not surprised. If they're so willing to lie about something this small and insignificant, what else are they going to be dishonest about? I will start by saying I live in OK but work out of state over 8hrs away. I purchased a vehicle with Automax Del city, had wonderful customer service when I went in. When I purchased the vehicle on Saturday 6/11, my sales person Cody and the Manager Tony told me my vehicle was on the way and was to be delivered that afternoon/evening and I would be able to pick up my new vehicle Monday 6/13. No problem. Well Monday comes, I call, and I get told it should be delivered that night and would be able to pick it up Tuesday. Tuesday I called and they said it was still not there but should be there the 16th or 17th, so I had to fly back to work. I come back on the 18th and I call to check on the status and a new manager Bill answers the phone and is very rude and sounds annoyed that I have called again to check on the status of my vehicle after they have moved the date of arrival around more than 4 times and states. It is now 6/20 and I still have no information on when my vehicle is arriving and do not have a vehicle to get me back to go work. Very poor customer service, rude when checking for updates, and they are not delivering on what they told me when purchasing the vehicle. read more

Was looking for a low end car. Called and spoke to Allan (internet sales manager) about some I saw online. Was told they were there and available, . Also assured they would not be selling them if they were not mechanically sound, because they had a reputation to uphold. Got there (30 min. drive) and was told one had major mechanical issues, another had check engine light, not sure if it was a major or minor issue. (Allen was not there, not sure of salesman's name).Third had been sent to a buy here/pay here dealer because of major issues. Asked if they had anything else in that range. Showed me a car with bald tires, trashed on the inside including a part of the driver side armrest missing and torn. Asked about the price, and it was double what I had informed them I was able to spend. Total wasted trip full of lies, apparently just to get me on the lot. Let me start by saying I absolutely love the car I got here. With that being said, the customer service is atrocious. They're great until you get 80% done with paper work and notice extensive hail damage (it was dirty when we test drove it and they cleaned it while we finished up). They promised to fix the chipped windshield and the hail damage at no added cost, so we finished the paper work and bought the car. I had to call up there every single day for an entire month trying to get my car in. Eventually I just told them I was dropping it off on Monday at 9. It then took them 2 weeks longer than they said it would be, and again, I had to call up there over a dozen times to get any kind of update. Didn't offer me a car to drive in the mean time and when it was finally time to pick up, they threw the keys at my dad and said "car is outside". Reggie was our salesman and Cos was his partner who tossed the keys at us. Truly terrible customer service. I understand sales, I was in sales for part of my career and I understand their salary is dependent on the number of sales they make. What I also understand is the power and value of repeat customers and word-of-mouth advertising. My parents bought a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee two weeks later and it could've been from them but the experience here was that terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone ever. read more

She got the car with a co signer, then say she needs a different co signer after the sale and she's been making payments on it with no trouble at all. I volunteer to help so she can keep her car and signing the paperwork seems next to impossible. I don't see how they have my information prior and can't sign so I can take care of my business.
