I think they swapped the engine - I test drove the vehicle and it was fine so I put $1000 down and the next day I went to pay the remainder. On the way home the car immediately started acting odd so I took it to a mechanic and was told there's so much wrong with the engine that they recommended NOT putting any money into it and just getting a new vehicle. If I could, I would give a negative star review! I bought a vehicle here "as is" 6 months later, my car was undriveable. Bought a 2006 ford escape hybrid for 3000 in September 2023. I did NOT receive the TITLE until November2023. the day I did FINALLY receive my title, we were waiting for HOURS on one person, because the title was at their house.... So it wasn't even IN the building. In March 2024, I hit a bump and the shock went through into the cabin of the vehicle. I took it to my auto body shop/mechanic, and he said that there is no way he could fix it as the frame itself was rusted through. I feel like I was taken advantage of due to their "people" did an inspection and it came back passed. The amount of RUST on the FRAME, makes it 100 percent unsafe, for myself, not including my 1 yo child. Today I sold the car to a company, and was only able to get 280 out of it. In 6 months, that car became quite literally a rolling death trap of a vehicle. I cannot sue or anything, bc they had me sign a sold as is document knowing that they never gave me the car fax stating it was in a severe wreck well in 2008, and they probably knew how bad the frame was, and sold it anyway. Now I'm stuck asking family/friends to pick me up for my child's and I'd appointments and things! I have bought from other dealers, and this BY FAR, is the sketchiest, scammiest place I have ever bought from! IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD, NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THEM On May 17th 2023, I bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze from Automax Kc, LLC. Jamie, the salesman I did everything through, said he was going to get the title mailed to me. He had me sign the bill of sale and an agreement for delayed delivery of certificate of ownership. On June 26th, he texted me saying he had the title. He said I could come pick it up on June 28th, however on June 28th he said he wasn't there, on the 29th I texted him saying I'm having problems with my car and it's making a loud banging Nosie and I still need my title, and he answered with "did I check my oil?" and when I responded he didn't answer back. On the 30th of June I texted him again saying "I need my car looked at, I use it for work." His response was "let me check with my guy" and no update was given or a response back to my text. On July 1st, I texted again and decided to show up, which to no Surprise, he wasn't there, I let him know I was there, to which he responded with "his mechanic was busy because of the holiday up until July 3rd, and I'm not there." On the 3rd of July I texted him again saying "the problem with my car is getting worse and it's affecting the way I drive" which he responded by saying "my mechanic isn't available." Later on in the day my tire came off totaling my car while on the highway, when I texted him about this situation he answered back asking "where's the car at?" and didn't respond after that. On July 5th I went up there to get the title and he shifted around some papers and said, "it should be in the mail." When I showed him the text, he sent me saying, "we have your title" He said again "it'll be in the mail." Not only did he not have my title, but he also didn't have an inspection done to the car when I shifted through my own papers. Which he responded with "where is the car so he could go do one." Which I told him it's illegal to sell a car without an inspection and title, on the date of July 6th. Not only could I have died or been injured due to the lemon they sold me, but he never answered any of his phone calls, never received the title, never had an inspection done to the car, and didn't have his mechanic ever look at my car. I have proof of text messages, missed calls, and pictures of my totaled car. Also, I haven't received my car title, nor will I get an inspection paper from Jamie at automax. I have filed a complaint to the better business bureau, contacted fox 4 problem solvers, and it won't stop there. I have contacted Jamie from Automax Kc, LLC by text on the dates of June 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, July 3rd, and July 5th. I called Jamie from Automax Kc, LLC on the dates of June 29th, June 30th, july 3rd, and july 5th. None of these calls were answered. read more

first off no stars but yelp makes me pick at leastone! don't do business here. they will lie and tell you that you will have your title within 30 days. thats a blatant lie. i purchased a car on june 11th, 2024, started calling them around july 10th asking about the title. was told it would be there in a couple days. waited another week with no word from them. was told again that it would be there on the nest tuesday and to call them after noon on tuesday i waited and called on wednesday and was told they still dont have it and they would have it on thursday. called that friday and still no title, was told again for sure they would have it on tuesday. once again called the next week and still no title. i was told this for 3 weeks straight. i finally got a call on august 16th saying they had the title. it took 66 days to get the title and had penalties for the 60 day temp tag being expired. they told me they would pay for any penalties as long as i brought a receipt. they tried to get out of paying those penalties when my son went there with the receipt. said they couldnt give him the check made out to me even thought they gave my daughter the title made out to me without question. then when my son called me and i wanted to talk to them they changed their tune and gave him the check. also banned my son from there property without reason. horrible business, save yourself the headache. read more

Avoid this place at all cost. I brought a 2014 Volkswagon tiguan from this dealer. The owner Jamie, promise to fixed e-brake and check engine lights as part of deals. I drove the car for less than two months, the fuels temperature regulator failed off while I am out of town. He agree to took it back and fix it , I turned in my VW in June, since Jun, July, August half way, I haven't see my car. Contacting him him everyday for get my car done more than I concact my mother. Threat to call the policies for my stole car from this business. He knew he done his customer wrong. He begging for give him another day and come pick up the car. when I arrive at his dealership his team worker, nobody seems to know what's going on. Why I am here for the car. I look at the car it's all full of debris from the tree branch. That mother fucker, lies to his teeth. They do not fix one part of the car as the contract agreement at the beginning with. Tried to buy a 2016 Chevy equinox. When the outside lender called and asked if I had any concerns, I made mention of the transmission shifting hard. The next day the dealership called demanding I return the vehicle. I returned it as demanded, they charged me $500 for the two weeks that I had it as a rental fee. No where in my purchase agreement state that the dealership would charge me $30 per day if the vehicle had to be returned. Very disappointed. Will never buy from here again. read more

DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM HERE. If could give them 0 stars I would. I bought a 2014 Silverado from them back at the end of December. 45 days later the engine blew up. They offered to split the costs 50/50 if I brought the truck to them. The problem with that was the truck was in Wichita, where it broke down. I had decided with as new of a truck it was, I would have Chevy put the new engine in it. I am a big proponent of not taking my vehicles to the dealership for work but as new of a truck as this was, it just seemed like the best plan of action. Plus they were the most competitive price down there. Automax said they would absolutely not split costs with me because their labor was too high. I got that so I asked them to split the cost of parts and they said they would look into it if I sent them the quote. So I did and I asked for them to split around $5000 worth of parts with me, they offered to give me $575... A slap in the face essentially. But, it was better than nothing and they refused to budge so I said yes. Last thing I heard from them was in the end of February they were going to send me some paperwork to sign saying they weren't liable for any other costs. I never got that. I have emailed them a few times and tried to call but I get no response. They dodged me and now aren't going to give me anything obviously. The reason I am just now leaving this review? I just found out last week that the transmission is about to go out as well. I can't afford another $7000 so I had to trade the piece of shit truck in. I am still $8000 in the hole for the engine though, we still have the credit card for it to pay off. That's $8000 that we will never see again. DO NOT GO HERE, they will screw you over. There is no lemon law in Missouri so there is nothing that they have to do for you according to the law if something breaks. Even if they say they will help, they won't. These guys are the lowest of the low, the scum of car sales, the absolute worst place to buy a car ever. Avoid this place at all costs. I will never refer anyone including my own enemy to Automax. I spoke with Gary, one of the sales men, on Friday about the 2011 Terrain. I had a relative in the area test drive the vehicle on Saturday. Gary said he would have the two concerns my uncle asked about fix before I decided to make the drive from out of town. I contacted Gary early Monday morning and he communicated the defrost button was fix and he personally was going to drive the vehicle due to the mechanic not feeling the sever vibration my uncle inquired about. Fifteen minutes later Gary sent a text saying the vibration was caused to a missing weight on the driver side tire and reassured it was an easy fix and to head their way. When I arrived, I was very disappointed! The defrost button was fixed but air didn't blow out of the vent. The car still had a vibration on the driver side along with a strange noise the faster I drove down the highway....BUT what upset me the most is that Gary took advantage of my excitement for finding the vehicle and never had it cleaned. What car lot sales a vehicle and doesn't clean it out. When I called him out asking if he ever drove the car like he said earlier that morning and he replied, "I got busy." I asked if he took advantage of my excitement by not taking the time to have the vehicle cleaned and he lied to my face saying it was cleaned on Friday. Gary...I would make sure you drive a vehicle when you tell the customer you are going to and I would also check all the vehicles you send to the back to get cleaned because you look very unprofessional and 100% like a LIAR today. Words of Advice for AutoMax...treat every sell as if you are selling to your mother or daughter because you never know what one person has been through. Thankfully I am a strong woman who maybe out a trip to KC but I'll bounce back while I hope you are never given a change to get over on another woman....AGAIN! read more
