I had the code pulled at AutoZone and then called Harold's to talk about what the issues could be. There were a number of possibilities, including a very expensive new cat converter. I admit I don't know much about the inner workings of car engines and could have easily fell for a mechanic telling me I need something replaced that's wicked expensive. Harold though is not that guy. He explained in detail all of the possibilities that the code could've meant, and how it's usually something minor like a faulty wire. Agreeing to let him take a look for an hour's fee, I brought my car in, and he was able to find and fix my issue (which luckily turned out to be only some corroded wiring) in the time we agreed on. I only give 4 out of 5 stars because this was minor and I don't have any experience with larger repairs. But his hourly labor fee is fair and competitive with most other shops and dealerships, and Harold gave me the impression of a genuine honest guy. He's a one-man shop trying to make a living. I prefer to support local businesses when it comes to services like this, so I would recommend trying Harold's for car repairs. (He also helped a mouse move out of my car.)

Adam is very polite, not rude and condescending like some garages can be. You can obviously tell driving by that he has a LOT of business but he never makes you feel like he's too busy to help you. I've needed an air suspension sensor for my truck and it got held up due to the UAW strike but he's always kept me in the loop as to when I can expect it. I knew I shouldn't ignore it as much as I ignored my tire light (which had been on for the past month.) On Thursday morning, I called multiple garages hoping they had appointments open to take a look at my car. Sadly, most places were completely booked. I had work later that day... I had no time to waste. Thankfully though, calling Northwood resulted in my car being fixed that morning! The sound coming from my car was a minor problem, fixed by removing chunks of snow from under my car! Additionally, The technicians were available to change my oil, the dead bulbs in my lights, and pump my tires! I didn't even need to sell my kidney on the black market to pay for the service! I was in the process of pricing new tires because they were getting wore out but the prices were out of control! I was recommended a shop in Dover and I reached out to what I thought was a price quote from them through the Yelp App. As it turns out I was sending out a blast to any shop that wanted to respond. One was Exeter Motor Works to which I used to take my SAAB 9000 to back in the late 90's. I moved further North so going there wasn't as convenient for me. However their shop was one who was presented to me so I called them and they said come on down. I got there an I was treated the exact same way as back in the 90's, graciously, friendly, warm and naturally without any phony "Hi how can I help". I let them know of my predicament and one of the mechanics came right into the greeting area and grabbed my key and started to fix the tire. I had mistakenly walked into the shop area and told them what was wrong so they already knew what was wrong and what to do! As I was getting checked in with my information and the guys were already fixing the tire, I informed the person at the counter I used to come here with my SAAB and the people were awesome! The lady assisting me (sorry my memory is bad) said "Yep you came in here with your SAAB last time in 1999!" I said OMG you still have that information in there, that's cool!" So we had already hit it off and we finished up the repair order. I went and sat down and this gentlemen walked in and the lady said "name?? I want you to meet a customer from 26 years ago who's back!" This person was the new owner now and was very polite and he is a Veteran as well so we already had a connection! The guys finished the tire repair and because of our idle chit chat they were very fair with my and I'm now going to schedule more service with them today! I want to thank the two guys in the shop as I walked in at 4:00 pm and they needed to stay. I also wanted to thank the front office for being so gracious. This maybe long winded but this was my experience.
