After I pickup my supra I noticed the exhaust sound wasn't consistent which Flow Master and lifted the car to discover a generic no brand muffler and very poor welded job. When I confronted Omar, he said that despite my muffler not saying it was a Flow Master. I called Flowmaster the company to confirm, and they let me know they do not create Flowmaster mufflers without the Flowmaster brand emblem. Advance Muffler also had installed a 'magma flow" muffler on my son's Acura Integra a few months back so I also lifted his car to find that his muffler was also generic with no brand markings. I spoke to Omar about the situation and he refunded my Supra install and stated he is not a muffler guy and didn't know. I believe this shop often claims to sell you brand name mufflers, like Flowmaster at a premium price and installs generic no name mufflers not expecting customers to ever check.

I clearly informed them we could arrive at least 10:30, and the customer confirmed that was fine. However, when I arrived at 10:40, Mike told us that because we were "late," the inspection could not be done until the afternoon and would be finished sometime before 5 PM. I asked if a written inspection report would be provided, and Mike said it would require customer approval. I told him I would have the customer confirm this directly. Later in the day, I called to check on the status. Mike's wife answered and said he had stepped out for a test drive and would be back in about 15 minutes. She mentioned the vehicle had already been lifted and checked underneath, but she was unsure whether any further inspection would be performed. I asked if Mike could call me back to clarify. I never received a call. About an hour later, the customer called me and said the inspection was "done." According to the customer, Mike verbally mentioned two issues that I had already fully disclosed to the customer the day before. However, Mike also stated that the undercarriage rust was "very bad," using the word "worse," and went as far as telling the customer not to buy the vehicle. When I went to pick up the car, Mike was again not present. His wife told me he had stepped out once more. There was no written inspection report, and the customer also confirmed that no report was given to him either. When I asked about the report, Mike's wife said she did not know what inspection the customer had requested and therefore could not provide anything. This vehicle is a 2015 Lexus that previously spent time on the East Coast. Some surface rust is normal for a vehicle of this age and history. I personally inspected the undercarriage afterward, and the condition is well within normal range. It is absolutely not as severe as described using words like "worse," and certainly not a reason to advise a customer to walk away without documentation. In my opinion, the inspection lacked professionalism, transparency, and proper documentation. Exaggerated verbal statements without a written report are not acceptable, especially when influencing a customer's purchasing decision. I would not recommend this shop for pre-purchase inspections, particularly for dealers or serious buyers who expect clear communication and written reports.

(Quick note: JC Auto opens at 9AM, not 7AM -- the hours online may be outdated.) John took the time to thoroughly diagnose the issue, spending a couple of hours checking everything to find the real cause. He called me back, explained that a sensor needed replacement, and ordered a genuine Hyundai part to fix it. He also noticed that my previous oil change had overfilled the oil, so he drained some to bring it to the proper level, and he fixed the engine cover that wasn't clipped properly. My car started acting up again, and I knew just who to call…read more Unfortunately, Wendell passed away earlier this year, but his son Clayton and nephew Shane are continuing his legacy by operating the shop, and I must say, the work and customer service are just as wonderful as they've always been! Clayton was extremely kind over the phone, and knew exactly what car I had/the service history, which was incredible. I knew I needed an oil change, and asked if Shane could give my car a once over to make sure everything was okay, and he let me know my car would be ready by the afternoon. About an hour and a half later, he called me to let me know it was ready to be picked up, and that everything was working perfectly fine. Shane was very communicative, kind, and his work speaks for itself. He even topped off all of my fluids! Excellent service, fair pricing, I will always take my car to Independent Nissan!

Upon confirming to get my parts that they forgot…read moreto put back, they threatened me with harassment stating to stop calling them when they were the ones that asked me to "call them back" when I never received a phone call from them. They began to escalate and accuse me of accusing them. We confirmed on a day for me to grab my parts a week prior and upon the pick up date they wanted to hold onto my parts. I argued that they should install the parts that THEY removed because as a shop you NEVER give a customers car back when you didn't receive it with missing parts. They began to say that they don't believe my oil dip stick wasn't put back on accusing me of lying. I told them and explained to them several times that the car would be idling badly if I drove the car to them like that and it wasn't, it only started doing so when they said my car was "ready." They told me to go ahead and buy a dip stick and they'll reimburse me. Dealers do not stock dip stick of this year anymore so I had to purchase online and wait. Those days I waited I was unable to drive the car. As I said before, I brought my car in for an oil leak, they had my car for several months and I still had an oil leak when I got it back. They claim to be Nissan specialists but they should have known where to look and what to look for. They told me to steam clean my engine bay and I had to agree because they given me no choice. This shop needs to learn how to do business and learn proper etiquette. I wasted thousands of dollars and for what? Now I gotta fix their mess up my own. They know what they did even if Clay and Christi is never at the shop they can't say that my parts aren't there. Clay had "no idea" what parts I was talking about when I had told them exactly which parts let alone sent them a screenshot of my parts sitting in their shop a week prior. Low and behold all of my parts that were missing were there. They been in business for 50 years then how can you guys simply screw up one customer?you claim to take care of their clients but they hadn't token care of my car and it was sitting there for 2 months. Took the other shop only 3 days to completely fix my oil leak. If this shop continues to operate like this I don't see them lasting very long. I took my car to a proper Nissan/ Infiniti specialist and they got it done within 3 days. I didn't have to steam clean the engine for them to figure it out. FINAL UPDATE: These imbeciles gave me screws for MY parts that weren't even meant for my car. My engine cover and undershroud all screws and nuts are missing. You simply had one job and these are basics to a mechanic. BEWARE. If you take your car here be sure to ALWAYS look through the work they did. Each time I drop my car off there's always something.
