I was getting alert on my car about the coolant level being low. I didn't want to mess with it on my own so stopped by here as it was one of the few places still open in the late afternoon on a Saturday at 4pm. Didn't catch the name of the employee who helped but he checked and said I was the second person to come in about the same issue. Prob due to heat and needing to run the AC. He filled up my coolant and didn't even charge! I still gave him some cash for helping a girl out but appreciate the customer service. Fast, friendly service! I had a low tire pressure symbol pop up on my dashboard on my way to work. I passed by to get my PT cruiser checked out. The owner was very helpful and helped me fix the problem in less than five minutes. He did this free of charge and said I was welcome to pass by anytime I needed anything else. Amazing service!! My husband's car wouldn't start on a Sunday and we needed to get it towed somewhere that could get it in and fixed to be driven Monday morning to work. Mechanic was very transparent with what he believed needed to be fixed and confirmed it would be ready to pick up same day! We picked up his car a few hours later and the pricing was really good, especially considering it's one of the only local shops open on Sunday! It's weird because I was happy that they took my car due to no other mechanics willing to handle my electrical issue. My problem is that they've kept my car for 3 weeks without really putting any work into it. They've given me a quote that I paid for which I've found out later was not needed. When I got my car back, there was scratches on it when they've pushed it to a wall, the tires had damage thst I didn't have when I gave it to them. To make a long story short. Another mechanic fixed my issue for $160 vs. this shop charging me a total of $800. I guess that's how thing work in Pasadena. Mechanics think people will pay for anything. SMH read more

Found Al's Auto center on Yelp, I was looking to get my oil pressure sensor replaced on my 2013 Cadillac Escalade. Spoke with Augustine a great guy that took care of me, charged me only 175 dollars labor and I purchased the part. Two other mechanics around the area was charging me 400 & 700 for the same repair, I will definitely come back to Al's Auto center for future repairs, highly recommend. read more

Was absolutely an excellent service my wife and I received!! Our Fiat was idling real hard, then the check engine light started flashing. I called the shop and Augustine said it was okay to drive to the shop as it was just misfiring. From there I was already in his trust. He talked to me and within a few minutes he had already diagnosed the problem! He asked me to just walk to AutoZone down the street, pickup four spark plugs and two ingnition coils. I was there for about 30 minutes before I was up and running again! Parts cost me about $175 and he charged me $75 for labor. I was ready to pay $300+ since we were driving from Bay Area to PHX to see our family for Christmas. Was so happy Augustine got us on the road in less than an hour! Charged $300 for front brake job and $280 for rear brake job on an old Honda. $580 later and I definitely left the garage feeling like I was getting fleeced yet again. As I tried to leave I pressed the brake and the pedal, literally, went all the way to my floorboard. Something wasn't right so I asked what's going on and they said they check it out. After waiting another 20 minutes, they sent me on my way without acknowledging their errors. They seemed not to care and just wanted me to leave. Apparently, they didn't even test drive it around the block to check their handiwork. Why would I go back for any future repairs? That's just bad business. Called last minute (20 minutes before arriving) on Saturday asking if they're available to help me change out my brake pads which were in desperate need for replacement. The man that answered (I think Augustin) was very friendly and said yes and to just go ahead and go in. I live down the street so it was very convenient for me. I already ordered the brake pads and had them with me, so I only needed to go in for labor. Augustin helped me when I got there, and I just left the car and brake pads with him, and said he'd call me when it was ready. Got a call about two hours later, and my car was done.
