If you want amazing work and to have the problem fixed at a great price with complete honesty and transparency, go to Mike's Automotive! I went there because I had a leaking fuel line. I was quoted at other shops at unreasonably high prices. I had never been to this place. My aunt went there when her truck wouldn't start and she was stuck in Chico. They were incredibly kind and honest with her. So, when my truck started leaking diesel fuel, my mom and aunt both recommended Mike's. It's worth mentioning that the work they did was done back in April. This review is being posted in June because I wanted to make sure that the work would hold up, and it has. The prices and service was so great, I had them fix my rear fuel tank, change the oil, and do a tune up. All of this was still less than $1,000.00 and was amazing quality. This place literally saved me more than $1,500.00 and I can't thank them enough. This place is not very well known but it needs to be. Big chains may have history and reputation on their side, but you'll end up regretting the cost, quality of work, the lack of honesty, the time wasted if the job isn't done right the first time, and the really impersonal people that see you as another dollar sign. So here's why : I came up to visit my best friend in Chico. I live in Southern California and drove 550+ miles in my old beat up Honda Civic. On my way home, barely 60 miles in on my voyage, my car started to overheat and I immediately had it towed back to Chico. I took it to these guys at Accurate Auto the next day, and they came highly recommended by a mechanic friend that didn't have time to look at my car. They said they would check out why it was over heating and needed it for a couple hours- no problem, any shop would say that, especially since they already had a few cars being worked on at the time. They had me sign a paper saying what I agreed to have them check out, it literally said "check for overheating", and an estimate of $0.00. (WOW- no one in SoCal charges absolutely NOTHING to look at your vehicle.) I get a call about 3 hours later and the mechanic said they did not find anything wrong with my car. They ran smog diagnostic checks to ensure my head gasket wasn't blown, checked the entire system for leaks or cracks in all the hoses and my radiator, checked the belts, fan, and ensured the water pump was working- nothing wrong. I was so glad to hear that nothing was wrong and the probable cause was due to low coolant and the 104 degree heat. So I came to pick up my car about an hour or so later and the mechanic told me the same thing as he did over the phone. He also said he let it run for 45+ minutes to see if it would overheat again, and still nothing. I told him how thankful I was that he looked and inspected my car for any possibility of it overheating again, especially since I live so far away. When I asked how much I owed him, he said nothing. I asked, "Seriously?!?" And he responded by saying "Well I couldn't find anything wrong with your car, how could I charge you for that?" I was completely in awe. I nearly cried because you cannot find that kind of kindness these days. I was scared that being a young female in an auto shop I would get taken advantage of and have them tell me various other things that needed to be done for a pretty penny, but nope, not with Accurate Auto! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place, because not only are they friendly, but they're HONEST. I could not have gotten this high quality of service back home where I live, and I appreciate this SO much. I was looking to pay anywhere from $40-$125 for this service, running tests and whatnot (a normal price for this kind of service in SoCal), but I walked away with peace of mind and a thankful heart for the people that run this business. By the way- I made it home safely, and the car ran perfectly. Not one sign of overheating. I can only thank the wonderful people of Accurate Auto for this peace of mind.
