I saw my car engine light turn on and decided to call in Automotive Procare for services! I was able to bring in my car the same day as I called in and was grateful for that. The one thing I like about Automotive Procare is that they take pictures and send you information on exactly what was checked, what is looking wrong. It was nice to see that issues I brought up in the past at other auto shops weren't addressed, such as air filter issues. Here, they seem to access the whole car! They also provide a shuttle to get ya home as they work on your car, which is a plus for me. Following the full car assessment, I wish I got a call regarding the quote, rather I had to call in to get the quote as I waited for quite awhile. They did ask to keep my car overnight to look at it in the morning which I said yes too. I called in late afternoon the following day as I was concerned I didn't get a call back. Which they replied it's been good and ready all day. It would've been nice to get a call since I had to push back a lot of errands. Overall, I'm happy with the service. I can't say if I know the cost of my services was fair or not, but my car is in working order again! read more

I walked in to a very clean business. I received prompt & courteous service as I had made an appointment. Seating was comfortable and spaced adequately. Small hand sanitizers were available near all seating, and complementary cold bottled water was available. They have a lovely water feature inside with fish and turtles which was quite calming during my wait. The time I was quoted was spot on and after doing a thorough systems check they went over it with me. My absolute only gripe and reason for the 4 stars, was the price to replace the cabin air filter. The labor was twice as much as the filter which was very unexpected considering it takes 2 minutes tops. To be fair, I did not ask the price, but was also not quoted it before the service. Automotive ProCare is a great shop with good people and I would definitely return and recommend them to others. read more

***Stay away from Automotive Procareat all cost*** I brought my car in to Automotive Procare knowing my A/C was working intermittently and my serpentine belt was loose causing it to slip and disengage my A/C. They said they would need to run an A/C diagnostic $100 (ouch!) which they did, diagnosing the belt and a leaking O-ring at the compressor. They replaced those parts, plus the diagnosis totaling $340 which I was fine with as it came close to my budget. Which I told them about or else it would not be worth fixing (older car not worth much). They said it was all fixed and blowing cold air, I go in pay and then go to feel my new A/C only to find hot air. Went right back in to have them look again. They kept my car for another day and now changed their diagnosis to a broken compressor, that they can sell me for $1200+. My compressor was working when I brought the car in!!! I called and talked to the manager saying this and he told me that it was working and must have broke between 8 am when they checked it and 9 am when I arrived to pick up my car. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked him to refund any portion of my repairs as I did not receive what I paid for and now on top of this I have a broken compressor. He raised his voice at me several times saying he didn't appreciate me questioning his ethics or practices. He did nothing to help make a satisfied customer only kept trying to sell me on the new compressor. So, I now walk away from Automotive Procare $340 lighter with an A/C that now does not work at all and much bigger problem of a broken compressor. WORST AUTO REPAIR EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! read more

I am moving a classic Chevrolet van that has been stored for 20 years in a clean garage environment. Obviously the van needed extensive attention such as removing all fluids and replacing.... plus removing and draining fuel tank....and fuel lines. I decided to replace the fuel tank.....fuel pump....and fuel sending unit while apart. They were careful to remove all fuel before turning the key on to avoid old fuel being pushed into the injection system. I was very happy with how they listened to my wishes and followed them. My getting the vehicle road worthy was a 3 day process and they communicated crisply and fully along the way for each step. They paid attention to details like rotating the engine manually before starting to insure there was no stuck rings in cylinders etc. I was very pleased and the repair work was a fair price and they did not suggest anything extra and not needed. In fact - they were careful to check first and let me make the call on any additional work. My background is a retired engineer and lifelong gear head and I normally do all my work myself and have extensive shop tools....several car lifts at home etc. I typically never trust anybody to do my work....but due to prepping this van for driving from Rochester MN to Tucson AZ in the winter I was unable to do this work myself. Zack was exceptional as was Nate the mechanic working with me. They knew I was fussy and treated me and my van with respect. Kudos to them!!! When complete.....they even helped me ferry the van to home as I had a rental car too during this work. I can not say enough good about this great experience!!! I highly recommend Automotive Pro Care!!!! My wife found them on Google and she felt they looked like a cut above the norm and I agree after this great experience!!!! I recently had to drive down to the Mayo Clinic from the Twin Cities with my wife in a medical emergency. Because I pushed my SUV way too hard, the engine severely overheated and became un-drivable after arriving at the Hospital ER. Automotive Procare, and the General Manager (Alex Keehan) in particular, took awesome care with me, even helping me arrange to use my special automotive credit card even though I didn't have the card with me and we had to work together on the phone a lot to get that done! They fixed blown hoses, cleaned up and tested my vehicle, replaced needed filters and more in less than a few hours! And the SUV is running great (better actually) ever since. Alex is such a great guy and General Manager. I so highly recommend their shop and staff for friendly, helpful, good work, customer care and willingness to go the extra mile to get you back on the road! THANKS ALEX! read more

Will never, ever give these guys another dime of work again. Cliff notes - TWICE I was ripped off. Drove my car in ways they shouldn't have ("spirited" driving in a customer's car is just plain ridiculous), and didn't do the work I asked of them. Charged almost double their quoted price. First time I went here, I brought in my car for them to install tires on. From their own price guide on tirerack.com, the price to install my low-pro tires, valve stems, etc shouldn't been $60 + $12 = $72. 6% shop fee = $76.32. 7% tax for a grand total of ~$82. My price? $120. When i questioned it and asked for a price breakdown, they gave me the most vague price breakdown. The lady mumbled something about TPMS fees (don't have that on my car, she insisted I did because the computer said I did.. yeah, guess I don't know what my own car has). Fairly certain they charged me for tire disposal, even though I took back my old tires. Another thing that pissed me off was when the tech was driving my car into the shop to put the tires on, he drove in very fast. You should not be flooring a car enough to make the tires spin when you're entering a garage, especially in a car that isn't yours. I realize the temptations to drive a modified car, but doing that in a customer's car is unacceptable. Stupidly, I went back to them again a few months later to have some suspension work done. I simply needed them to adjust my suspension down a little to lower the car, install some alignment parts, and do an alignment. i was given an estimate of $125 for the alignment (standard fare) and $100 to do the other stuff. I picked up my car and was slapped with a $400 bill. Again, angry, I questioned it and asked for a price break down, and the guy simply said "Yeah, mostly labor". What really, REALLY pissed me off, though, was when the guy handed me back my keys and said with a smile "Man, your car goes like heck!". I drive a fairly modified car with aftermarket parts, and one of those parts ($900 new) is VERY sensitive to being driven hard and then shut off without being cooled down. Sensitive enough that doing it one time can ruin it. I have little reason to believe they let my car idle down before turning it off. Not only that, but I'm riding around on new tires that cost me over $700 installed, and my transmission is very easily broken if driven roughly due to the increased power my car is putting out. So, you can imagine how pissed off I was when I found out he was driving my car hard, for absolutely no justifiably reason. I even checked my ODO and they put 5 miles on my car. Why? They literally could've checked out my alignment with a 1/4 mile trip around the block. Just to put this $400 bill into perspective.. I had the entire suspension setup already installed on my car. They were simply asked to adjust it down and align it. i was quoted $465 from another shop to install the entire thing from scratch, and align it. So, I basically saved $65 and did 90+% of the labor with these guys. Seems like a fair trade-off. On top of that, I asked for it to be adjusted one way and they didn't even do that. If the owner of this shop reads this stuff, please contact me because I would love to tell you what I really think about your shop. read more

Every employee has been very respectful and explained all charges clearly, as well as giving me a printed breakdown of recommendations and charges. When I first moved to Rochester I went to another car care place nearby and they were going to charge me $100 to help change my license plates as I didn't have the right toools! I thought this was crazy and drove to Procare and they did it for free. I have been there about 8 times now. I feel they are honest and the price is reasonable. I took a car here because it wouldn't start. It took them two days to decide that it was the engine computer. They recommended we take it to the dealer because they would be able to install the computer but wouldn't be able to program it. We took it to the dealer and the dealer found out it was the chip in the key and not the computer. He said that the cylinder coils were fried also. The dealer said, even though he couldn't prove it, that APC pulled them out and fried them. So now we don't need a computer which we paid $250 for APC to tell us and we also have to pay for new cylinder coils. Not to mention, two towing charges. Absolutely 0% satisfied and 100% pissed off! ****ADVICE**** DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE take your vehicle to someone you know or take it straight to the dealer. read more

It is hard enough to pick a place to get a simple oil change with so many options, but with the help of a handy little coupon, I found myself at Automotive Procare. Already frustrated with poor and unfriendly service at one previous shop it was a breath of fresh air to walk in to a very well kept shop and two smiling faces ready to help! I dealt with Roger, who was quick, capable, and extremely pleasant. I sat in a very comfortable waiting area and felt right at home watching the big screen and enjoying a cup of joe while I waited. I hadn't even finished half of my coffee before they were calling me to tell me I was ready to go! They also have a free (who doesn't love free?) shuttle which I didn't use but the driver was so friendly and very willing to take me anywhere I wanted to go while I waited for my car to be finished! How convenient! Overall, Automotive Procare made me feel welcome, at ease, and did an excellent, efficient job. I will never give these guys anymore of my money. They will absolutely bend you over backwards for money. I've taken my car there many times for various reasons but this last time was the worst. My car was misdiagnosed and they ended up putting a new part in a car for my blower fan (blower motor resistor) when it didn't need to be done. I brought it back numerous times saying that it was no better and they sent me along my way saying it was fine and it was warming up great. No it wasn't. After bringing it back down there 3 different times I demanded they fix the problem I paid for, they put in a new thermostat and viola, it was working the way it was supposed to. You'd think experienced techs would find that there was a chance the thermostat was stuck open and hot air wasn't circulating the way it was supposed to. Needless to say, I wasn't happy that it was misdiagnosed (which I paid for), and was inconvenience plenty by techs that didn't really know what they were doing. I had a few other problems with this car that they fixed including my power steering. Did you know that when you bring your car there they will actually charge you money ($46) to lift your car on their hoists and tell you your power steering is leaking? Or they'll misdiagnose your car ($53) and change a part that was working perfectly fine (blower motor resistor $135+labor). In their defense, they did install a new thermostat for free, but considering they'd inconvenienced me enough with all their bs and put parts in a car that didn't need to be replaced, that was the least they could do. After all, a new thermostat is about 12 bucks, so I didn't come out ahead by any means... The one thing I will give them credit for is their sales staff is friendly. I think they have to have nice people working the front desk otherwise people definitely wouldn't come back if they'd been ripped off by a bunch of jerks.. Bottom line I brought my car down there for three issues. The total I spent was $1971, the total amount in parts was about $750, the rest was labor, diagnostics, and taxes. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, please! read more

My car died in front of their shop. I thought leaving it there would be cheaper than towing. No, they way overcharge for parts. I got another quote from a friend who fixes cars out of town, he said they overcharged me about a total of $150 for parts and he would have charged basically half parts and labor for the whole job. The guys here are crooks. They have constantly lied to me about the warranty my vehicle is under. I have had to have the same parts fixed 4 times within the past year. Each time they have given me the run-around on my warranty, and have blatantly lied about the service they have provided for me in the past. They have stated they never worked on a certain part of my vehicle, when all of my records and show that they have replaced and worked on those exact parts. I hope the owner and general community reads these posts and realize what a pile of crap this place has become. I will NEVER take a vehicle there again. This is one of those places that writes up a long list of "needed" maintaiinence every time I go in for an oil change. Most of the time they are just hoping that one of the things on the list is really something that should be done. When I refuse all of the sevices they have purposely left trasmission dip sticks loose so fluid leaks out. Dont go there. read more
