Called to see about getting upgraded replacement shocks for my 2021 GMC Sierra. Guy who answered replied in a pissed off tone " why would want to replace shocks on a 2021 truck, there's no way they are worn out". I told him that I wasn't happy with the cheap ORM shocks and wanted an upgrade. I asked if he was able to get Bilstien shocks. I've been going to Midas with my family since I was below desk countertops, and the loyalty has carried over to today where I tower a few feet over them now. I live outside of Chicago, IL, and made the mistake of not tending to vehicle needs before hitting the road to visit friends in Rochester, MN. Right as I roll into town, I schedule an allotment with the Rochester Midas. Thinking that the Midas system is a large database and wanting to get down to the nitty gritty, I spoke a bit too fast as if in Chicago and may have rushed the conversation with the manager. Regardless, the manager was calm, collected, and ensured my vehicle would be taken care of. My husband recently had heart surgery .at the Mayo Clinic. We were back in town from Pepin, Wisconsin for a follow up appointment. Upon leaving there we heard a loud scraping noise that got worse and worse. Fearful of driving through the cornfields with the alarming condition we pulled into Midas. The mechanics found a broken lower motor mount bolt. Within an hour we were on our way. We feared a huge bill but it was extremely reasonable. ALL of these guys were great!!! I stopped in to have brake pads installed on my front brakes.They took my car inside.They came out in about half an hour telling me they couldn't do my brake pads unless they replaced alot of other parts other than pads.I told them just to do the pads as I originally wanted.They brought my car out an hour and a half later,telling me they were sorry that they couldn'tplease me,handed me my keys and went back in the garage!I took my car else where and got the job done.I wouldn't recomend them to anyone.My rating probably won't be posted.At least I got to give my opinion !! read more

While visiting from out of town my brake peddle broke. Desperate for help I pulled in without an appointment or calling, at the end of the day on a Friday. They took my car right in, found the problem and fixed it right away. Knowing I was from out of town and desperate for help I feared I could be taken advantage of because I needed help fast. That could not have been farther from what happened. They fixed my brakes, gave me great advice on what to do when I got back home and handed me a bill that was way less than I expected. Honest ..Honest.. We came here from Ca so my husband could have kidney surgery at Mayo Clinic.... I thought maybe the brakes were low. But was unsure . Was told when I left home still had 1/2 life. Went to Cadillac Dealership here said needed brakes $ 650.00. Went to Midas and they said you still have 1/2 life on your brakes you don't need them. Tested on lift etc... Thank you Midas .. Completely honest guys, they don't try and fix something that doesn't need fixing to get more money out of you! I was going to rotate and balance my tires but they brought me back and showed me my car and their explanation behind not doing it and what my best options were going forward that would increase my safety! When we talked about replacing my tires they went out of their way to give me estimates and cost and were very upfront and honest. Will DEFINITELY be going back! Super satisfied!!! Just got my rattling problem fixed there. Keith is a super nice guy and hard worker! I made my appointment online last night, and he called me back within 30 business minutes, just like the website said. When I got there, he was able to look at my car within 30 min and gave me an accurate diagnosis and estimate. Had me in and out of there in less than 45 min--all it needed was a heat shield clamp. I can't say enough good things about Keith Wix, Midas franchise owner, and the quality of service by this Midas team of professionals. Our battery and alternator went out at the same time in Minnesota on a Saturday late in the afternoon. We are from Kansas and had no idea where to go and called the Midas station for help. We replaced the battery and limped to Midas where they stayed late to replace the alternator. They checked the car out to ensure it was safe for travel. Thank you, Midas! I will no longer be giving them business. I initially went in for an oil change and they do checks for all parts of the car. When they were done they called me saying something was wrong with a piece and that it had ripped and was spraying oil (driveshaft) which meant it needed to be replaced. They gave me an estimate of about $700+ after parts and labor. I took my car to a different mechanic/company and they found absolutely nothing. They looked all over and even cleaned the driveshaft off and still couldn't find any hole or rip. I left with the other company not charging me a cent because there was nothing to fix. This is the second time this has happened, though the other time it was break replacements. They tried to say my brakes were bad and I needed new ones, come to find that wasn't the case at all and new brakes would've been unnecessary. Imagine how much money I would've wasted if I just listened to them and didn't go anywhere else. The first time I thought it was an honest mistake but going through it again makes me think its more than a coincidence, and they might be trying to capitalize on my slim knowledge of cars.
