I bought a car here less than a year ago. They assured me that my car was in "great condition" after the repairs they made. A few months after I bought the car, a bunch of things went wrong and I had to pay thousands for repair. I didn't contact Automotive Solutions because I just thought it was a one time occurrence. However, a few months later, my car pretty much fell apart. I took it to a couple shops and they both quoted me an additional $3000-$4000. I called Automotive Solutions and told them about it and they accused me of being a rough driver, which is so wrong. I don't even drive this car that much - a few miles around town, but I obviously don't trust this car to go on road trips or up the canyon. I asked them if they would consider taking this LEMON back, but they refused and laughed at me for being so gullible believing it would take so much to get this car on the road again. I only went to Automotive Solutions because a family member is a friend of theirs, and I really regret even meeting them. I spent so much money fixing the lemon I got there, I could have bought a new car. I would NEVER recommend anyone go to them for anything. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!! I purchased a 2010 Subaru Forester XT Limited from this place and it is by far one of the most regretful decisions I've ever made. I purchased the car on a Friday and 2 days later on Sunday the car lost all power and was smoking up the entire freeway. I took the car back to them and a week later they said it was fixed. I picked the car up got on the freeway and it broke down again before I made it 2 miles. I immediately took the car back. They tell me the turbo is bad and they will fix it so long as a pay for the turbo. 6 weeks later (seriously 6 weeks) they say they have it fixed. Literally 3 days later the check engine light comes on again. At this point I have lost all faith in Automotive Solutions. When the turbo went out it also took out the catalytic converters which cost me $1400 dollars to fix. I finally am able to drive my car for the first time after almost 2 month of issues and repairs. Now its 2 months later and I just put the first 3000miles since owning it, and guess what? The turbo is bad again and this time it took out the motor. (I'm quoted $9,900 to fix it) I bought the car with 148k miles, it now has 151k miles on it. In that time it has lost 2 turbo, ruined the catalytic converters, and completely destroyed the motor. I only write this review in an honest attempt to protect you, the reader of this review. I gave automotive solutions several opportunities to make this right. Long story short, do not buy from here unless you are rich and enjoy throwing away $10,000 dollars. read more

I love that when performing a repair or maintenance checking a car, they will bring you into the garage so you can see the problem underneath the car yourself. I've brought an older Camry in here a number of times, and a Lexus as well. Update on my review....yup, my car still SUCKS. It's been repaired over and over since buying it a year and a half ago. I've contacted Paul several times and each time he said there was nothing he could do. I asked him to buy it back from me for the purchase price, and he quoted me $2000 tops, which is 1/4 of what I paid, not to mention the THOUSANDS I've spent just to get this car road worthy. I contacted them not knowing what to expect. They sent an employee to my residence in Layton to repair the cable and to install a new battery. If you're thinking this a good place to buy a RR or salvage title,RUN AWAY! I bought a 2000 camry from here a little over 2 years ago and have been absolutely shocked at what iv found on this car they "repaired". So the car had lower miles when I bought it and the deal seemed incredible at 3k. I was in a hurry to get a vehicle because my work truck was broke at the time so I totally rushed buying it. Took it for a 5 min test drive at sale, the front end shook horribly and everytime i tried to brake it felt like the front end was literally coming apart. The salesman Brian is great at making you feel like your getting a deal, hes a true used car salesman he'll reassure you "he ll take care of anything, and if theres any problems to bring it back." So I tell him after test drive car feels like front end is moving while braking? He acts shocked and tells me he's been driving the car for days and I must be mistaken. I took him for a drive 5 min on the freeway, he had white knuckles and was in fear when he experienced what i did on the road earlier and he instantly yells it needs motor mounts! So he agrees if I buy the car he ll have them swapped immediately and fix issue. So against my better judgment I say ok. I was waiting for 3 hours for these motor mounts and when im finally able to go home brian insists that I only bring it back to their shop for maintenance that it will be a good deal and only take it there for oil changes, they will do them for free? Ill also add that he said they just did a fresh oil change that they "do for every car they sell". I thought it was kinda odd they REALLY didn't want me taking it somewhere Else for maintenance and since I live 2 hours north, coming back was not practical for me. So I get in the car to drive home and the shaking problem is still there! I called Brian immediately and I could hear the frustration In his voice before he put his car salesman Persona back on.He told me to bring the car back and they will get it fixed. So I had to drive this deathtrap home almost 70 miles one way and take work off. So I get there the next day and Brian's brother, the mechanic? says let me drive it, We get on the freeway and he says You need rotors! So as soon an we get back to the dealership he says to his brother he's never allowed to diagnose cars.He says we will replace your rotors and send you on your way. So after that I ended up waiting At the shop for almost 4 hours... 4 hours to change 4 rotors? Im only a commercial electrician and I can change all the rotors and pads on my wifes vehicle in 2 hrs or less so im wondering what the heck is taking so long?When its finally done I just wanted to get home. So as im driving, the car steering is better but it almost feels like everytime i turned the wheel, there was a weird pressure "springing it back" across the road so I instantly took it to a friend that works at an alignment shop. I was disgusted to find, the front ball joints, front lower A arms and all bushings were completely shot and gone to the point of where the only way they could get the front end to stay together and go straight was literally bending all the parts to maximum camber settings so it was destroying the tires as well. He said he had never seen a front end so rigged up to try to go straight without changing parts, but just wait IT GETS BETTER so at this point I just ask him to look everything over and do an oil change because I don't trust anything brian or his rude mechanic brother said about the car. When my mechanic went to change the oil, someone Had snapped the head of the drain plug bolt and had used half a tube of JB weld to hold it in place so I had to replace oil pan (makes sense why they never wanted me to take it anywhere else) I know I should expect this when buying a 3k car but after spending another 2k to have a proper mechanic fix their hackjob i was around 5k and what i would've spent on a clean title car. If your in a bind dont buy a car from these guys unless your a mechanic. Every bad thing you hear about RR titles, you can experience here. Stay away! read more

Please note that my complaints are directed at the car sales portion of this business and not the mechanical shop. I bought a car from Brian (Paul's brother) and was very happy with the initial purchase. He met me after hours and gave me a good price for the car. My problems came after the purchase. Within a couple days of having the car the check engine light came on and it started running rough. I will admit that Brian never promised any warranty at all, and in fact I signed a paper acknowledging there was not a warranty (the same form you always sign at a car dealer that is hanging in the windows). Regardless I was impressed with my initial interactions, they had great google reviews, and their website said all their cars came with a 90 day warranty; so I was hopeful that if something went wrong they would try and make it right. This is not what I experienced. When I got a hold of Brian he became very defensive very quickly. When I brought up the 90 day warranty on their website he denied knowing they even have a website!? He said he had no obligation to help but he had a guy in Ogden that could give me a good deal to look at it. Long story short, this "good deal" saved me about $20 on a nearly $400 repair. Thanks a lot. I was also bothered by the fact that this had cylinder misfires 2 days after driving it away but they had provided a passed emissions and the back tail lights were the wrong ones and not working the moment I drove it off the lot and they provided a passed safety inspection. I bought a $2,000 car, I wasn't expecting much. I was not expecting them to honor any warranty by returning my money or fixing it for free. But I hoped that they might have been willing to do a little more than they did. If you buy a car from here just know it is AS IS and you won't get any help after the fact, regardless of what the website (that no one knows about) says. read more

These guys do great work. I know they have significant experience working on Saturns, but I've taken by Trailblaze SUV and my Oldsmobile in to them and they've taken care of me. Plus, they have great prices. I had to have the bearings replaced on one of my wheels. Automotive Solutions charged me less than half of what the dealership quoted me. read more

My daughter bought a car that was parked on the lot of Automotive Solutions and the advertisement on the car stated that it had a new engine, new parts and the price was advertised for 2800.00. We went with her to look at the Trooper and found out that it was on their lot begin sold on consignment by a friend of theirs. Well my daughter really needed a car and wanted that one and my husband and I made the assumption that because it was sitting on this car lot that it must be a good car and agreed with her and encouraged her to buy it. Their friend Glenn showed up and swears up and down that everything in the engine is new and his words were "you wont have to change anything in that engine for quite some time". That very day my daughter spend 250.00 to have speakers put in the car. A few weeks later she had to have the water hose replaced because it was old and cracking. A few days later she had to get the air conditioner fixed because it went out. She has to unlock the passenger door to get into the driver side when she does lock the doors. Did I mention that she is a single mom who doesn't get paid very much and does not get a lot of child support so she doesn't have a lot of money to keep spending on a car that was misrepresented as having a new engine by friends of the owner at Automotive Solutions who is just probably trying to get around having a dealers license to sell messed up cars to gullible people. Right now the car does not work and she purchased it in February of this year. I spoke to Glenn myself who said too bad so sad and if I had a new battery I would give it to you, so he knew what was wrong with the car and Paul at Automotive said "I'll fix it if you get it here" and when I said that it doesn't work he said tow it. So this single mom who has no extra money needs to come up with more money to tow the car and on top of that he is going to charge her to fix a car that was misrepresented on his lot.
