The policy is apparently no customer-supplied parts, period. I understand not wanting to use customer parts for more complex repairs, but for a simple tune-up like spark plugs and coils, it really shouldn't have been a problem with genuine OEM Motorcraft parts. It felt like it was purely about marking up the parts themselves rather than any real concern. For something as basic and straightforward as plugs and coils, this rule is ridiculous and frustrating. Ended up doing it myself. If you're capable of handling a basic tune-up yourself and just want to pay for labor to save time, this isn't the place their inflexible policy will waste your time instead.

I understand Don's has been there for about 40 years. They are clearly doing something right. I had work done there today and I am very pleased. I came in without an appointment (I finally got fed up with the Check Engine light being on -- and my van, nicknamed Pam Poovey, started to balk too), but everything was done the same day at a very reasonable price. Please note that they don't sell gasoline here. It appears that the pumps were taken out many years ago. However, there are two places for gasoline within 1 block (one across the side street, in fact). I am happy to find a repair shop in Louisville that would get my Dad's seal of approval.
